Bro-Ritos Mexican • $$
137 1/2 Main St, Hackensack

“Working with Bro-Ritos was a very pleasant experience and we can't wait to bring them back to Rutgers-NB again! From the moment we contacted them through their website, they were professional, prompt, and friendly. We invited them for our annual Black Student Social which is a fall semester welcome program. The staff were kind and worked quickly to serve over 200 students. Our students were happy with their tacos and burritos. The owner was very accommodating and met all of our needs.Administratively, I was very impressed with Bro-Ritos. We made A LOT of requests and changes and had to work through the nuances of getting a new vendor approved, but Bro-Ritos was always responsive and on top of it. They are true team players. If you have the opportunity, you should book the Bro's!“

CAFE TROPICAL RESTAURANT Breakfast • $$

“I go here for the custard French toast, it is an absolute hidden gem on the menu. They also have a habit of hiring extremely cute girls to work the front which always helps ?The Pollo guisado is always a good safe bet for me and I prefer it to any other in this part of town. Not a fancy place or a 5 star restaurant, just a very good place to eat for locals in a chill atmosphere“

“Opened in March 2008, this family-run establishment has the goal of offering authentic Mexican food and is located in downtown Hackensack. As a lunch break from jury duty today, I ventured to Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant on Main Street, just a block from the courthouse, as a first-timer. Upon entering this small, well-decorated, and clean interior, I was welcomed by the staff and promptly sat at a table. The menu is pretty standard, with a few unique choices, including combo platters, for $11. I decided on the lunch menu with two crispy meat tacos accompanied by rice and beans. To wash it down with Aqua de Jamaica (hibiscus tea), a complimentary chip and salsa began my meal. Everything was fresh, served hot, tasted good, and was authentic. The portion was generous. The service was friendly and fast. The price point was perfect, so I can recommend this place.“
