“I met a couple of my old coworkers there December 20th after 4 years. I wanted to go to a highly rated family-run place and this establishment didn't disappoint. The burgers, meatloaf and pita wraps were excellent. The owner Vinnie greeted us and seated us, then came by to chat with us. The server was attentive and seemed to like her job. About a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Harrison PATH station. I will be making future visits there with old collegues.“
“If you’re looking for a hidden gem - no frills, I repeat, no frills type of place - Woods is your spot.Full disclosure: Nivea (the bartender) is my mom and has bartended alongside Tony and his wife (the owners) for more than 20 years. My mom loves the place so much, you can find her there on her off days. Tony is the man! One of a kind. The place is special - a perfect, dive bar with Portuguêse flair. Make sure you bring cash for the jukebox and pool table, and order an espresso with Sambuca.“
“Everything was great about this place from the food to the service. Music was a bit loud though for a really small crowd. I went to watch some of the football game under the impression it was a sports bar. (Google may have gotten this wrong though). I would definitely come back, just not to watch a game. Haha. The pizza was great and a friend of mine said their wings were the best in town so I will definitely come to try the wings.“
“Came here for lunch on a Monday (around 1pm) and was able to walk in without needing reservation. We got the schnitzel (tried pork and chicken) and also the apple schtrudel, they were all delicious! The schnitzels also came with 3 sides, so it was a good amount of food even if you are very hungry. I also loved the vibe of this space. I will definitely be back for dinner!“
“This place is a hidden treasure, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the only downside is that the line is always long and during cold season you have to stand outside in the cold for hours, I think they should consider building a close path on the side with heater and light so people can at least be comfortable doing the line until they get to order. Outside seating area is nice during the summer.Parking: Limited street parking as the restaurant is located on a one way street.“
“Went here Friday night with no real plans in mind other than a drink. Turned into great food, atmosphere and solid cocktails including the Yoko and Amelia . All food solid choices with the arepas a standout. Handled great from start to finish with James. His great attitude and service is what made it special.“
“This is a great spot for a date or special occasion. Dinner is Pre-Fix and the menu changes seasonally. The dining areas are very inviting. The staff was very detail oriented and just enough but not on top of you. Basically the service is impeccable. As for the food everything is timed great and everything we ate was awesome. I thought I might leave hungry initially but that was not the case. Must go to spot for a romantic dinner“
“Garden Grill and Dry Dock Bistro is a hidden gem. The food was definitely fresh & Shahip’s kindness and attentive service added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. Next time you’re in the area don’t hesitate to stop here!P.S I was referred by my hairstylist @touchedbyriy to get the chicken tenders. Girlll thank you ?“
“This restaurant is a gem. My wife and I have been here twice and we're coming this Saturday and bringing friends. The room is very nice and the service is excellent. The menu is balanced and, frankly, something of a bargain. The veal/beef meatball is as good as any I've ever had. The New York strip was perfectly cooked and very tender. I make a pretty good steak at home so rarely order one out. Laboratorio Kitchen is becoming a go-to place for me!“
“The best 5-6 min wait…. Incredible food service music and atmosphere……Dietary restrictions: The ask about allergies at the top of the meal….Kid-friendliness: Kids everywhere…….beautiful!Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp in and out!“
“I’m hesitant to even write a review because I consider this place a true hidden gem! With so many options in the area I find myself forgetting about Turtle & Wolf until after my recent visit it sprang to the top of my list!I went for a birthday celebration and my friends and I shared a bunch of dishes. Everything was so well executed, the portions were generous and we just had such a lovely evening. Cannot pass on this adorable BYOB.“
“We had early reservations tonight and we were the first diners. When we walked in the waitress told us that we had to be done in 90 minutes. My wife and I are fairly quick eaters. But when I hear something like that it can suck the enjoyment out of the dining experience.Putting that aside, we had great appetizers and main dishes. The deserts were not on par with the previous two courses. We have eaten at Bloom several times since the summer time and had enjoyed it. I don’t think that we will be rushing back.“
“A delight. While traveling in New York, we were looking for a good bagel and we were not disappointed. We had 3 different recipes and they were all very good. Generous and delicious, we can only recommend it. If you want to eat a good bagel, don't hesitate and go to them. Little extra, there is a park just behind with lots of benches, we ate there, it was really pleasant.“
“This is a great place for an afterwork beer in FiDi and it's super close to the 9/11 Memorial. What I love about this place is all the patches from first responders and military personnel. As a US Navy veteran who served with Marine Corps helicopter squadrons, I love seeing the patches from units I served with.“
“Welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Great place to bring kids. Food and drinks are right to individual taste! And the staff is super accommodating!Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for vegetarians. Great salads and bean BergerParking: Free parking lot across the streetKid-friendliness: Great family oriented restaurant. The staff are great with keeping the whole family happy ☺️“
“I can't say enough how happy I am to discover this place. I just recently moved to the neighborhood, and wow ! Such a gem. Don't walk run to this restaurant. Food is delicious, with great wine selection, and owners are super nice and welcoming and hard-working, too.“
“Been eating with this establishment since it was called Walla Burger. The best burgers I’ve ever had and would not eat a burger elsewhere.Kid-friendliness: Kids of all ages are welcomeWheelchair accessibility: Located within Military Park and wheelchair accessible.“
“Overall satisfied with the service that I had received. There’s an unlimited amount of food options on the menu & I must say I love them all. If you are in the area & in the mood for traditional Mexican cuisines then this is the right place for you! Enjoy!“
“Honestly it is really hard to find a good soul food place in Staten Island. Until I ate here, like the food is good! like real life good. if you place this restaurant in any other borough it will still slap. Meaning it’s not just a good Staten Island restaurant it is a good restaurant all in all. The service is very friend, they make you feel at home, the food is A1, the different flavor cornbread that comes with your dine in experience set the tone for bomb a$$ food“
“This is the first time I have came here and it was a really good experience, nice bartender, the owner Mike was a delight. They made good drinks and the wings.. THE BEST , I have had in years. Would visit here more often if we lived nearby, highly recommend this place.“
“Met up with my partner after a rehearsal she had down here (she’s the best!) anywho - tried to walk into red hook tavern without a res (like a coupla chumps!). They saidIt was gonna be a seven year wait til we could get the shrimp cocktail, so tail-between-our-legs we hobbled down Van Brunt (like adorable animated dogs from a 90’s Disney Movie) and poked our heads into TGFP (we are on an acronym basis at this point ;) - the vibes ? Immaculate. The food? Indescribable (( actually think the burger rivals RHT ?)), but I digress - unpretentious, creative menu, another gem of the neighborhood. Come here folks or I’ll come and get you !“
“Everything is baked with love and the owner gives top tier customer service. You can never make a bad choice from Empanadas to Blueberry cake cheesecake, cinnamon rolls, , Tiramasu, apple bread pudding, carrot cake, chocolate chip cookies, the Oreo cheesecake brownie etc. Everything is delectable and divine. Don't delay visit Anthony's today. Yummmmm“
“My husband and I went here for breakfast and the service was 5 star. Our server, Donnette, was exceptional, she was very polite and thoughtful. She made sure to check in on us every now and then to make sure we were good. Her attentiveness and care for her customers satisfaction is definitely top tier!!! Thank You Donnette! You Rock!!!“
“Blew our minds away.Frequent all the places in the area (avenue, parkside etc). Thought this was still a diner. Went in while getting an oil change at mavis. It is clean, the food is fresh, the portions are big. Quickly became a new favorite. You DO have to pay for bread (saw some upset people by this) however once it is put on the table you quickly understand why. Multiple kinds of flaky, delicious bread and artisanal spreads. Not your average bread basket.Wish the ascetic was less diner but definitely an upgrade from before.“
“This establishment embodies all the qualities I cherish in a neighborhood gem – an inviting ambiance accentuated by bright and tasteful decor, abundant greenery that imparts a sense of stepping into a cherished home. The lavatory, adorned with entertaining comic books and captivating artwork, is a haven one could easily lose themselves in.A delightful birthday brunch orchestrated by my girlfriend and her husband elevated my visit to a new echelon. Our chosen corner, bathed in natural light, provided a picturesque setting complemented by low-volume yet contemporary music. The BYOB policy allowed us to augment our experience with personal touches, such as our own supply of orange juice and Prosecco. The owners, gracious and welcoming, exemplify the epitome of hospitality. The culinary offerings showcase a harmonious fusion of Asian and American influences, with flavors that transcend the ordinary. The Pork Belly Adobo, featuring purple rice, succulent pork belly, kimchi, fingerling potatoes, eggs, and biscuits, left an indelible impression. The impeccable seasoning beckons one to savor every morsel, making it nearly irresistible to leave an empty plate.Nestled conveniently near the light rail in the vibrant heart of Jersey City, this establishment maintains a delicate balance, exuding the energy of a bustling locale while retaining the charm of a serene neighborhood spot. Despite the bustling surroundings, the ambiance remains quintessentially quaint. The memory of the delectable cake we enjoyed eludes me, yet its splendid taste remains etched in my mind. A return to this establishment is not a mere possibility but an assurance. Also took home their carrot cake and it was pretty epic as well. Gratitude for the best dining experience one could ask for!Vegetarian options: Lots to pick fromDietary restrictions: The chef can accommodate any dietParking: Near a busy area but parking is available at the Agnes apt buildingKid-friendliness: No kids menu but many kid friendly dishesWheelchair accessibility: Large space easily accessible“
“I had such a fun time with my family, the bars drinks are sooo expensive! But the show is a perfect amount of time, very entertaining and enjoyable to watch! The food is decent and nice to be included with the ticket! The best of all is our server Kristian was the funniest, kindest, efficient and hard working person! I absolutely loved him, he deserves a lot of recognition!“
“Always wanted to visit this spot! Had a lovely weekday late dinner there. Pls keep in mind the place and the kitchen closes early here. Both waiters and the manager will make sure you are aware of that. I’m sure some guests feel a little bit rushed. To my surprise the food is excellent ( being almost disappointed at many places in Jersey ). Lots of options , fresh rare dishes .“
“our absolute favorite restaurant almost anywhere. Best described as new American comfort Food with the twist. The chef is phenomenal. The service is also wonderful and attentive. A generous poor of wine. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.“
“I absolutely love this place! From the food, atmosphere and customer service. I have used them twice to cater my baby shower and a recent birthday party. Zinna the owner is super sweet, professional, punctual. She truly wants the customer to be happy and checks in with you. My family and friends loved the food and I will always use them in the future.“
“Almost hidden on a small street in Belleville, Me & Tommy's looks like someone's house from the outside. Once inside, you are immediately treated as a guest in a friend's home. We received such a warm welcome, that my husband asked if I knew the staff. That level of service continued throughout the entire meal. I can't remember the last time I experienced such outstanding service. The dining area is quite small, and they are busy all night. I would most definitely call for a reservation in advance. The atmosphere is lively and boisterous. Not meant for a quiet romantic evening. Kinda like a loud Sunday family dinner vibe. For food: Smothered Rice Balls in Vodka Sauce, Stuffed Cubanelle Peppers, Pasta Volognese, and Artichoke Chicken. For me, the Rice Balls were my favorite dish. Generously portioned, the rice balls are a cheesy carb delight. The famous vodka sauce was creamy and plentiful. Highly recommend. The Stuffed Peppers were two very large, beautiful cubanelles (my personal fav pepper). My husband loved the stuffing, while I did think it was a touch over seasoned. The Volognese- cross btw vodka and bolognese) was enormous! It does lean more to the bolognese, but was tasty nonetheless. My Chicken Artichoke special consisted of three chicken breasts with mozzarella and artichoke hearts in a white wine lemon sauce over linguine. This was a very tasty and satisfying dish, and -you guessed it- generous. We shared an Affogatto with Bailey's liqueur for dessert which was a perfect end to the meal. Even my espresso was delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. We took home enough left overs for another meal! We will most definitely return.“
“I recently experienced exceptional service and bartending at a local establishment. The staff, led by skilled bartenders, demonstrated a high level of professionalism and friendliness , to providing attentive service, and the overall experience was top-notch. The ambiance, coupled with the expertise of the bartenders, made for an enjoyable and memorable evening. Highly recommend for those seeking both quality drinks and outstanding service. Mimi is also very lovely , very sweet , one of my favorite Bartenders, her service was outstanding! Definitely coming back“
“I found this place by doing a Google search for breakfast close by after my son had an early morning hockey game. It was a cold, snowy morning and we stepped inside to a warm atmosphere and very welcoming staff. The chef, who I assume is the owner was so kind and friendly. The server was so pleasant and didn’t miss a beat taking care of everyone and answering the phone for take out orders too. We ordered the Turkish Breakfast, BEC sandwich, Nutella pancakes and a mushroom omelette. The food was delicious! Would absolutely, positively recommend! Can’t wait to go back!“
“Had a business dinner here. The ambience is elegant but comfortable and you feel at home. The waiter provided us with specials as well as explained some favorites on the menu. I had the double cut pork chop that couldn't have been any larger or more delicious. It was crusty on the outside while moist and tender in the inside. The sauce was so delicious I had to lap it up with some bread. My associate enjoyed the seafood salad which had an abundance of seafood and a bit of lettuce with a light vinaigrette dressing. While I am one to enjoy a dessert, the serving was such that no dessert was able to be eaten. Overall a wonderful place and should be a strong contender for your night out. Business or pleasure.“
“Food is fantastic and customer service is amazing. If you’re in the area you need to definitely drop by and grab a byte. They have a variety of things and they can custom anything you desire. Also LEO discount are offered which is a plus!“
“Andrew and GTK, have been a wonderful addition to Hoboken, providing a variety of food options. Our loyalty to them extends back to their days in Jersey City. Today, our regular order was accompanied by a complimentary dessert, and we express gratitude to Andrew and his team. We're avid supporters and recommend everyone to experience their delicious food!“
“Over the years I have found this cozy little corner place to be one very charming breakfast and lunch establishment. Most of my transactions here have been of the grab and go variety, but the couple of times I have actually been able to have a sit down, my experience has been most pleasant. The service has always been tremendous, and not monotone businesslike. My favorites here are the omelettes and scrambled eggs, and the french toast. The coffee is quite good too. They put a lot of effort into their work and it shows. Too bad they close early.Vegetarian options: There are a few non meat dishes available. Examine the menu carefully.Kid-friendliness: The couple of kids I have seen there all seemed to enjoy themselves. The server was bright and cheerful to them.Parking: Being on busy corner with no immediate parking available due to traffic restrictions, you will have to do a little walking to get there.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is accommodating and inside one can maneuver around“
“Greatest family restaurant in the world. I’ve recently moved to NJ and the place and people and food that my wife and I miss the most is Jody’s .. we were every other Thursday lunch people before we moved and now we need or “ Jodys Fix “ whenever we hit the North Shore of our Island….Today was terrific. Anyone who hasn’t experienced The Gobbler at Jodys is missing one of the best sandwiches anywhere. Thanks to Terence and the entire Jody’s Team who never fail to take care of us like Family !!!!!“
“Live around the corner and came for dinner for the first time. Serving staff were lovely and attentive and the owner (I assume) was on tables and checking in, very friendly. We enjoyed the food a lot, and the wine was very reasonably priced. The duck was especially good. Ambiance is great too.“
“The place has a bit of everything. Good food, very attentative service, and events all the time. Even if you want to have private parties it's a great spot. Prices are average but not bad at all. The one thing i would like to see it's more vegan options. Overall, always a positive experience with the staff.“
“A guy sat next to me on the train literally tapped me on the shoulder and asked, “Where did you get that sandwich”.Classic diner… with an international twist. Speedy service, great breakfast sandwich, everything you want in a diner/lunch spot.A real gem.“
“We went for brunch ? and the food was good. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich with the waffle truffle parmasean fries, which were delicious and highly recommend. The atmosphere was very nice as well as the drinks, the peach cocktail was delicious. I will absolutely go back for another brunch outing.“
“This has to be one of the greatest attractions on Staten Island. Planning a party, this spot is luxury at its finest. The staff is beyond curtious. The place is super clean. And the parking lot is pretty big. I highly recommend the Staaten. The food here is delicious too by the way. This location has gas stations around the block, delis, and even pizzeria if your waiting for the party to end. I love how classy this spot is. Well I hope my review helped.“
“Saw so many great reviews and finally tried it. We are so mad we didn't get here sooner. Food was delicious and service was great. One of the best Alla Vodka sauces I have had. We will most definitely be back. Shout out to our server Chris.“
“The owner is welcoming the wings fried hard pack with favor. He let us sample the house sangria which was delicious. This spot doesn’t miss a beat with the menu options. Rocket fuel is definitely a hidden gem and highly recommended for anyone that what to try new original favors. Last but not least stand of experience is was when I told the owner I was feeling the teriyaki sauce the cook in real time fix the recipe to my personal liking, now I’m forever a customer.“
“As a customer of Castle Billiards for over a decade, I can confidently say that as far as pool rooms go, it's the best around. Every table is well maintained, the bar is well stocked, and the kitchen hasn't disappointed me once. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you want to find a room to play a lot of pool in northern New Jersey, this is the one.“
“I am not hyping this up nor am I going to tell you a lie. The food is fresh and taste amazing. My daughter ordered my food from here yesterday. I enjoyed it so much so I tried to save myself some for today. I couldn’t do it. So I came back today and the same results. The spices and taste danced on my tongue. Thank you. She even gave me something to taste since I never had it and omg perfect!! I definitely recommend and she has a customer for life.“
“Berkshire Farms Pork Chop, AWESOME! I had it with hot cherry peppers. I also had the other half of my wife’s Grilled 10 oz. Filet Mignon, WOW! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. I don’t write many reviews however I was extremely impressed. Chadwick’s IS a Bay Ridge gem!“
“Ahh! Such a beautiful date night at Cellar 335. Advance reservations are necessary to ensure that you get a table. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed. The restaurant is in the basement and has a speakeasy vibe to it.The food and the drinks were unique and delicious. For food, we tried the avocado fried rice (customized without egg), the crispy tofu bao buns and the spicy cornbread - the portion sizes were great too. For drinks we had Shipwrecked (the best!), Pole star and a spicy drink. They did not have many of the cocktails on the menu so best check with them before you decide on one. Definitely ask for the dessert menu - we tried the passion fruit panna cotta and it was the best way to end the meal! Our hostess, Alli was very nice and friendly. This restaurant is expensive, but definitely worth a visit for the lovely ambience and the great food/drinks.Vegetarian options: There are some great vegetarian options available and a few others can be customised and be made vegetarian.“
“Update on my review.I've visited MK Valencia a few times and also had them cater a few on site events. The food has been very satisfying and the service level has been EXCELENT! I feel as if they definitely take customer feedback seriously and work to continue building their brand and business.Dietary restrictions: You can always inform the wait staff of any dietary restrictions before ordering your meal.Parking: Public Parking lot found across the street. Side streets have Free Parking after walking a block down.Kid-friendliness: They do have a Kids Menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there are two separate entrances that are both wheelchair accessible.“
“We visit Charley at least once every two weeks. The food, atmosphere and drinks are nothing short of amazing. The bartender, Jay, makes some of the BEST drinks we’ve ever had. He puts so much effort and expertise into each drink he makes. Even if you’re not hungry, come for the drinks and you won’t be disappointed. 10/10 for us! We will be returning customers for years and years to come.“
