“Since our arrival the staff has been super friendly, and for those whose English is a problem, it is solved because everyone speaks Spanish. And the food is spectacular! The spaghetti with meatballs are tremendous, and the pizza is delicious and made with fresh products. The portions are very large and you will have leftover food, but they provide you with tupperware to take away. Highly recommended!“
“I have lived in Hoboken for more than 25 years and have to say that my dinner at La Boheme was the best meal I’ve had in Hoboken. Excellent menu. Fantastic staff. Missed having Omar or Lisa being there to provide that extra special touch they give at Barbès.The appetizers, main courses and desserts were GREAT!Will definitely go back in the near future ❤️“
“Great Friday night. Put your name it early because you will wait 2 hours. We did not get sat until 10pm, eating close to 11 which is too late for me but so so worth it. It’s a small cozy space with great staff and byob. We ordered stuffed longhots- literally stuffed. Bruschetta also solid. The mushroom truffle pasta which is probably some of the best I’ve ever had. Lastly the spicy squid and spaghetti which was good flavor but a little dry. Finish off with the Nutella calzone and be prepared to have to go boxes.“
“I was in Hoboken visiting some friends and I stopped by Mario’s on a whim. I left feeling “warm and fuzzy” because it felt like I had just stumbled upon the neighborhood’s best kept secret. The staff treats everyone like family. I actually forgot some personal items there and the guys behind the counter were so kind to find and hold on to them for me until I could come back (thank you!).We tried the Stromboli and several kinds of pizza. I really liked the plain cheese! Wish I lived in Hoboken so I could make this my go-to pizza place.“
“It was so busy, that I knew it was going to be good and it was fantastic! Service was great, waiter was attentive despite it being packed, The food was fantastic, we got pizza and pasta dishes. Everything was priced decently too. Definitely recommend!“
“Not the best pizza in Hoboken, but still good. The barbecue pizza and the silicians are my go to. I wish there were some more sandwich options here. The service is always quick. My only concern is that the seating here isn’t the best. A number of the chairs are in rough shape. I’m hoping that by the upcoming spring season they get some new furniture for the outdoor seating area.“
“I didn’t have much expectations. I was looking for over 30 minutes for a combo of different foods I wanted. Never really have ordered takeout from here. Anyway, it was absolutely delicious!!!!!We had, wings, garlic bread? Oddly was a pizza basically and so so good (added vodka sauce), meatballs, mozzarella sticks (not sticks but triangles). Amazing, really. Sad I’ve missed out on here for the last 8 years lol“
“The workers unfortunately never seem happy to have you. Also, it feels like they take on too many online orders which get priority over customers walking in and ordering (it’s my belief that this should be the opposite).Pro-tip: If you order ahead online (which I recommend), note that it way overestimates the ready time. You can expect your food to be ready within 10 minutes ordering for pickup.“
“Ordered a chicken parm pizza. The dough had a very nice bite to it, with a crust that was neither too thick nor thin, neither too dry nor mushy. The flavors were great, with a good balance of cheese, tomato sauce, and protein. The chicken could have been a little fresher, but not bad at all for a pizza topping.“
“Apulia stands out as a cherished gem among Hoboken's Italian eateries. Unlike the usual suspects with their hefty portions and oversized pizzas, Apulia offers a more authentic and intimate experience. Their pizzas are reminiscent of those enjoyed by locals in Italy, while their pasta portions are perfectly satisfying. Twirling fresh-made spaghetti feels akin to a scene from "Eat, Pray, Love," evoking a sense of simple yet profound culinary delight. The staff exudes warmth and familiarity, greeting regulars with hugs and smiles. The manager's passion for Italian cuisine is palpable, reflected in his eagerness to share family recipes and craft special dishes that showcase his culinary talent. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, with just the right touch of Italian flair—think Ferrari decor and nods to the Italian Grand Prix blended with a hint of Rolling Stone rock.Whether you're in the mood to groove to great music while indulging in ravoli or simply unwind with a classic Negroni or a fine Italian wine, Apulia has you covered. And if you happen to find yourself admiring the handsome bartenders, well, consider it an added bonus to an already delightful experience.“
“Really good pies. Rich sauce and high quality cheese. Crust was perfectly balanced between crispy and chewy. Meatballs and sauce are excellent, too. My buddy got the penne vodka noodles and really liked them. Nice beer selection. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive. I'll be back.“
“I went on a trip to try a bunch of pizza places Dave portnoy reviewed. On this trip I tried 10th Street, bread and salt and the pizza shop. They were all very good but the pizza shop standed out the most. Texture , cook and taste was perfect. When I tell people the best pizza I've ever had it's pizza shop hands down. I crave it and will have to fly back to have it again sometime! Worth the trip!“
“An iconic Italian restaurant in Hoboken. While unassuming on the outside, this Sinatra-dedicated restaurant serves authentic Italian food in a cozy environment.Their food is delicious; however, the prices are a little more expensive for the amount of food (I had the Sinatra Gamberi). Their wines are full of flavor and they provide full glasses. But I will say that the service is impeccable. The staff are extraordinarily friendly, full of heart, and for some of the locals, know them by name. While it is a small restaurant, reservations are not accepted, so be sure to get there early to get a seat.“
“Fantastic Roman style pizza! We had the supplì (Roman rice balls) appetizer and fresh ricotta with honey, as well as 2 pizza. Did not disappoint! Specials change daily it looks like. Atmosphere is casual family friendly. Looks like a great place to have an event in the back.“
“One of the tastiest vegan pizzas I’ve hadI got a half and half margarita and BBQ Jackfruit.Their marinara sauce is just as delicious. The host and the servers were both nice.It seems like a cool sports bar to hangout with a bunch of friends. You can watch a game or play pool.We ended up choosing a few other options before coming here, because the number of reviews were higher elsewhere, but this place definitely was the best option!Vegetarian options: The Pizza menu is all vegan.“
“I randomly walked in for a slice to go a little while ago and now it’s my go-to spot before I go to work. Really solid pizza. I don’t feel like I got hit by a truck when I’m done eating like I do at some other places. Glad to have this place on my route!“
“About the Pizza Restaurant:Situated on Washington Street in Hoboken, this pizza restaurant exudes a lively atmosphere, drawing crowds even on snowy days. With its well-established presence and timeless charm, it appears to have been a staple in the community for generations.About the Experience:Venturing in for a taste of New York-style pizza, we were pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem. Opting for a pepperoni pizza slice, we found it to be generously sized, easily satisfying two hungry appetites. Each bite of the bread boasted incredible flavor, while the Margherita sauce offered a unique twist. The pepperoni topping added an extra layer of deliciousness to the experience. In summary, stumbling upon this restaurant was a stroke of luck, as it exceeded our expectations and left us eager to return. With its distinct flavors and welcoming ambiance, this pizza joint deserves a higher four-star rating.Vegetarian options: Some options are availableDietary restrictions: Please let the staff know if you have anyParking: Difficult to find parking during high traffic daysKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: I dont believe so“
“As the second brick oven pizzeria to open in Hoboken back in the day (not 100% sure how accurate this is, but I’m fairly certain it’s about 15 or so years ago), people were excited. A pizza fanatic, I was veeery excited.I’ve been ordering in/ordering pickup from Napoli’s since and it is just as good, if not better today than it was back then. If you haven’t had it and are a fan of brick oven, don’t turn a blind eye here. The Brick - another quick service brick oven spot oddly resides right next door - is acceptable, only if Napoli’s is out of any particular specialty slice you’re craving (side note: Napoli’s CBR game is Jay-Z, whereas The Brick’s is Nelly.) the mini meatballs are always a great lil’ side snack.Happy feasting!“
“What a great pizza place this was. We only grabbed a takeout on the way home from a fun day out but the restaurant really looked like a nice place to be and would have loved to have been able to eat in. The team took great care of creating a pizza for our family and were very accommodating and engaging. The pizza was excellent!! Really loved it!“
“Tony Boloney's is a place I've been wanting to try for a long time. They have some of the most over-the-top lookin’ food I've ever seen. They are definitely the kind of place that hypes up their food for being "extra" on Instagram. So, I was curious... Do they live up to the hype? The food definitely lives up. Is it extra? Yes. Is it probably bad for your health? Absolutely. Did I enjoy it? For sure. They are a pizza shop primarily, but I feel like their subs are the real star of the show. I think their philly cheesesteak might be one of the best I've ever eaten. The only issues I really have with Tony Boloney's is that they seemed a little short staffed, a lot of things in the restaurant were apparently not functioning properly, and the one guy at the counter was on the phone trying to sort out various things going wrong at the restaurant. Made for kind of a weird ordering experience, but it wasn't the guy's fault. He seemed to be trying his best. Also, with things being short staffed, the tables were a bit dirty. The TLDR though... It's worth the trip from New York over to New Jersey, and the food itself is very extra in the best way. It lives up to the Instagram hype.“
“Where do I begin …. This place is TRULY the hidden gem of Hoboken. We love the food here and adore the service and ambiance in the restaurant with the wood oven stove. We chose to have our wedding shower here (you get the whole place to yourself) and Giuseppe and Amy were kind, considerate ROCK stars. If you go, you have to get: the burrata, the vodka farfalle (or Penne Vodka pizza) the chicken parm, and the Caesar salad. EVERYTHING I’ve ever had here is amazing. Even the takeout food travels well enough to be fresh and delicious upon arrival.“
“I’ve lived in this town for the better half of a decade, and I inevitably get asked by weary travelers and vagabond tourists about “what’s the best pizza in Hoboken?” Well friends, you need not turn another corner on your cyber journey. The greatest Hoboken pizza rests at Johnny Pepperoni uptown. The 14 inch round pie (there’s also a square pie but I don’t dabble) is not the biggest pizza in town, but it’s thin and crispy, adequately cheesy and is also good if you endeavor to add pepperonis atop. There’s also good salads, serviceable wings and other appetizers like rice balls and burrata that are good. I’ve also heard the pasta is good but I come here for the round pie. It’s nice indoor/outdoor seating and pretty inexpensive for this area. Please note that it is BYOB!! Ain’t no jokin’, this is best za in ‘boken.“
“Had ordered food from this restaurant on Postmates and the delivery driver from Postmates stole our food (not the restaurant's fault). We called the staff and explained the situation to them and they prepared us a new order as well as honored the promos from postmates. We got the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and mozzarella sticks and everything was delicious. Wish I got the name of the staff member that helped us but they were really kind and made everything really quick.“
“This place is great at the quality it’s aiming for. The owner is extremely nice. It’s not the best pizza in the world, it’s certainly not the fanciest place, but it’s great taste for the price you pay. As they say, it is what it is, and this place does a very good job at that. Sometimes I regret going, but something brings me back. I might just go get a slice now.“
“Can be a bit of a wait when it's late, but not only is it the only place to get something substantial after midnight, it is, in my opinion, the best pizza this side of the Hudson.Wheelchair accessibility: Open order counter on the same level as the sidewalk.“
“What??!?? I cannot believe I have not talked about the Mac and cheese at this place. BETTER THAN MY MAMA'S.How they call themselves a pizza place is beyond me, because their Mac and Cheese is the star. Their 4 cheese is... You are not ready, it's so good. The bacon?!?? Makes you want to roll your eyes to the back of your head and pass out.GO TO HERE! GET THE MAC AND CHEESE!!!!!Also, everyone who works here is professional, very kind and I never feel rushed.“
“Been my favorite pizza place since I was a kid, but I can't ignore the steady decline in service over the past couple years...Recently been having an issue where my order isn't being made right. I've placed the same order for years (Sicilian pie w/ pepperoni—nothing more, nothing less) and there have been multiple occasions where I go to get the pizza and it's a round pie.Normally, it's fine and I understand mistakes happen. First time it happened, I just took the pizza, said thanks, and left. Since then, I've made a conscious effort to specify that I want a "Sicilian" pie and receive a conformation that they heard it (usually by having them say my order back to me). But still, this keeps happening...My main problem is that the guy at the register, when confronted about the mistake, rudely insists (each time) it's my fault the order isn't right because "I" did not specify I wanted a Sicilian pie when he definitely repeated my order to me, exactly how I said, over the phone.I'm not the type to get argumentative, but this keeps happening, and I won't let your employees tell me I made a mistake when they're the ones who screw up (and they're costing me an extra 20 mins of my time to get the order I know I placed, which is adding insult to injury). I have better things to do than walk back and forth from my apartment to Uptown multiple times to get my (overdue) dinner. You're on the verge of losing a loyal customer if these guys can't learn to write down their orders (and not gaslight customers)...“
“A small and cozy space to enjoy a variety of wings, burgers, sandwiches and wraps all for ~$10. Stopped over after work and had a pizza margherita and gyro tacos - all delicious! The owner was great to speak with, too. Definitely coming back soon.“
“I’m really surprised that this restaurant is not busier because has a lot to offer.Location, location, location….I would say that’s a great choice for a date! Sweeping views of Manhattan and some of the best neopolitan pizza in the tri state area makes it for a win win situation. The Pizzaiolo is from Naples and he takes a great care in making a delicious pizza dough (long leavened so very light to digest) and choosing good ingredients. Plus he cooks every single pie to perfection.I haven’t tried other things on the menu but if you are craving Pizza and you’re in the area you won’t be disappointed.“
“Lived in Jersey my whole life and I’ve always passed this place just never went in. Me and boyfriend had to pee and were looking for a bathroom and a place to eat. Great space with booths, and fountain soda (the best soda to have if eating a slice obv) Anyways… being pizza connoisseurs we know what we are talking about. Very Solid slice. I haven’t had a slice like this since I was a kid. She was beautiful. I give it a solid 9. PLUS they have bendy straws. Will be coming back. BOYFRIEND rating - 8.5 also guy at the front desk is cool ?The Sauce was Saucing #greatsauce #goodeats“
“When a craftsman takes pride in their work, it shows! Let me tell you that this pizza has "craftsmanship" written all over it! To begin with not many pizzerias make grandma slices, whereas they had an abundance when I went in. To top it off the taste is just an explosion of flavor! This is besides a variety of pizza styles they have ready. I'm definitely coming back and can't wait to try out other craft slices!“
