Came here for breakfast. From what I’ve read about this place I was so excited for some soul food, coming from North Carolina.When I came in, I had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. And that’s only because I eventually had to ask for a table. The place was mostly empty so it’s not like they were slammed.When I did get my food, it was decent. I got a side of biscuits, which to be fair were pretty decent for Jersey biscuits; and chicken and waffles, which were also pretty good (but to be fair, if you somehow mess up chicken and waffles, you shouldn’t be in business)For the entire 45 minutes I was there I wasn’t checked up on once. I had to flag the waitress down anytime I needed anything? Even a drink refill.I’m very disappointed, I was very hopeful for a good soul food place round these parts. But unfortunately I will not be coming back

This was my second time here. The first time was for breakfast , and I literally sat there writing a bad review due to the time it took for my food to come. As I was writing my food came, I deleted my review, cause my breakfast was delicious yall ? fast forward, I went for dinner yesterday since I had a taste for soul food. I was not disappointed. The service alone ! The owner, the cook. I felt like I was at my great auntie house. Gonna make this a least once a month staple . Pouring blessings and success over this business for many years to come.

Over priced 22$ for two blt sandwiches on a white sliced bread that was untoasted. Took over 20 minutes to be made. The fish that came out from another customer looked good but after paying 22$ for to take out blt I won’t be returning.

I read the reviews before visiting so I was ready for the extended wait and the sub-par service. However, the reviews about the food were mostly positive so I decided to take a chance. I visited on a Sunday morning at 9am. It took about 20 minutes to get a menu and for the waitress to take our orders. Our food came out a little before 10am. I had catfish, grits, and biscuits. My Husband had corned beef, grits, eggs, and biscuits. The food was delicious, but the service needs a little work. The servers were friendly but I thought they could use some training on customer service and proper etiquette. Some things as making sure the drink orders are in immediately and the customers are provided with the menu upon seating. The table should be clean before seating the customers, etc. On a positive note, I will say that the waitress did make sure that my coffee cup was topped off frequently, which I appreciated. Overall, I would visit again but not on a day or time that they would be busy. It seems Sunday early morning is the perfect sweet spot to enjoy this delicious hidden gem.

Have you ever had a bad rainy day? Then a bite of food just gave you the comfort and boost of happiness? Well, welcome to Jefferson's! It's a quaint spot tucked away from the main streets. You definitely get the lowkey local casual vibe. The decor is more homey/organized than upscale city-like, so if you care about the decor over solid food, then this is not where you go. The lady that served us was very welcoming and hilarious too. I would say, the meal took a bit longer that expected, so make sure to factor extra time. I got their special battered fries catfish meal, and it was well worth the hike over.
