One of the best burgers around
We went for lunch because it was recommended by a friend, and we waited 40 minutes before they brought out our food. That was after we reminded them. Other issues occurred, but the manager apologized and tried to make good. Otherwise, the food was okay. I am not sure if we would go back.
They serve breakfast/brunch all day but don't take reservations. Went on a summer Tuesday afternoon and they were busy; were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait for a party of 2. But just 5 minutes later a table was ready. Myself and my fellow diner each ordered a custom omelet. Both were perfectly cooked, exactly what we ordered, and tasted delicious. Ordered some donuts to go and asked for the check. Well, the donuts ended up taking a half hour. After 20 minutes, the extre
The food was really good but I just had one problem. It's kind of overpriced. We got a soup and three burgers and after tip it turned out to be $70. The burgers are pretty good but I don't think they were worth the price. Fries and onion rings were a little soggy as well. Wasn't super impressed with this place.
I’ve found somewhere that this place was famous for the French Toast, or best place for brunch and I decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! The French toast is probably the best I’ve ever had so far! A classic place very nice!
Was never a fan of fish and chips until today. You guys have made a believer out of me :) for 15 years I stayed away from fish :) I guess I was waiting for your fish and chips. The roast Diablo chicken was pretty phenomenal as well. A definite must visit for anyone who's in the Montclair area
We had a very unfavorable experience today at Raymond's My children were visiting from out of town and we were a group of 9. Three of the group were unvaccinated children and so my kids wanted to eat outside. I'm order to make sure we could get a table for 9 outside I called the day before to confirm. I was told that although they don't take reservations, if we got there by 10 a.m. we should have no problem getting a table. We'll we were there at 9:50 and put our name in. After waiting 30 minutes, the waitress came to me and said that her manager said they can't accommodate us because our group was too large. Fortunately, right down the block at 12 Church St, the owner had no trouble accommodating us! Just give me a few minutes he said and I'll set you up. The service was super, as was the food. Forget Raymond's and patronize a restaurant that is nice with good food, 12 Church Street!!
7.30.21 An amazing date night at Raymond's !! Came here for a late dinner, surprisingly there was no wait for indoor seating and we were seated immediately. Dinner menu is pretty small but there's a lot of good options. I ordered the burrata toast, Mac and cheese (side) and lemonade. Burrata toast was delicious !! It's a pretty filling appetizer and super flavorful. A large piece of toast layered with melted cheese and burrata cheese, topped with eggplant/tomato/onion dressing and pine nuts. Would highly recommend this item ! The Mac and cheese was perfect ! Gooey, cheesy and simple. The lemonade was a no for me-very sour, not sweet at all. All in all, I had a great time and the service was fast and friendly too. Would def be back :)
Went for breakfast this morning! Ordered short stack of buttermilk pancakes and bacon. Iced cappuccino to drink! Amazing! Very friendly helpful staff! Asked for maple syrup instead of blueberry. Done! Pancakes were amazing, bacon was double smoked (do not order if you don't like smokey!) Outdoor dining available, also vegan options as well! Awesome food!
If you have allergies DO NOT go here. I came here with my sister yesterday who has severe food allergies. We informed the waiter of her allergies ahead of time and he even said he wrote the allergies down and would hand it to the chef. None of that seemed to matter. Specifically, she is allergic to eggs, dairy, and nuts. My sister ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich without the Gouda cheese and the Chili Citrus Aioli as advised by the waiter. Thinking all was well, we inhaled the delicious meal, but quickly we knew something had gone wrong. Beginning with the mild symptoms of an allergic reaction (swollen lips, hives, throat ache, upset stomach) about 20 minutes later the reaction turned for the worse. Although I won't go into specifics, as it can be very graphic for some. We don't quite know where things went wrong. Whether it was a case of irresponsible cross contamination, the waiter not living up to his word, or carelessness in the kitchen, this is not okay. I strongly advise against eating at this restaurant if you have any sort of severe allergy. The sheer amount of recklessness from this restaurant is truly unacceptable.
I love the vibe of this place in the summer when you can sit outside. The outside seating is dog friendly and cozy and it's on a quiet street that makes you feel like you're somewhere else. Breakfast is delicious. They have one of the best French toasts I've ever had. Update: they changed the French toast recipe... it's still good but no longer amazing or unique :(
One 1 star is too much for the way they treated us.This is a worse experience I could have at a restaurant. The staff are very rude and unwelcoming. When I entered the restaurant I asked them to arrange a table for 8 they arranged a table for 6. I told them I asked for a table for 8. The lady respond back telling me once the rest of people comes will set up the place for them. After a couple minutes I asked another lady to set up the place because our friend were almost here. The lady said you should wait for the people next to you to finish then you can use their table even though there was two empty table in the other side. The one who was seated at that table was still eating and did not finish her food. My friend arrived, the restaurant staff did not want to move any chair to set up the place and they rush up the lady at the next table to leave. Once we were seated we push a chair and tried to get more space since the space was very tight. One of the staff asked us to push the chair back to how they set up stating that they want to give space for other tables even thought they were empty and no one is seated there. I did not feel I am in a restaurant with all of their rules to keep chairs an tables as how they set up not allowing us to get space or feel comfortable. Lastly, they kept rushing us to finish our breakfast not allowing us to enjoy our meal.
We came in for quick bite. Very happy with the food quality and friendly atmosphere. Burgers were amazing! Our server, Jonathan, was super helpful which is always a plus when dinning out with kids. We will be back for sure!
Came in for a quick bite with my significant other and was SUPER disappointed. Received our waters and the glasses smelled terrible. The waitress brought us plastic cups instead, our Buffalo wings were really good. We decided to order the fried chicken which was hard and dry. The breading had no flavor and I was scared to break a tooth directly biting into it. I was looking forward to eating here since many reviews rave about Raymond's, won't be returning.
I got the Norwegian eggs Benedict to go. The servers were very friendly when I walked in and let me sit on a stool while waiting for my order at the counter. The one egg was poached to perfection! The other egg yolk was hard and dry when I cut into it. The potatoes had the perfect crisp. They definitely could have used some more spices though. They weren't flavorful but the crunch/consistency definitely made them taste a lot better. The hollandaise sauce wasn't too bad but I felt it was missing that oomph flavor factoe. I've had better eggs Benedict at other breakfast/brunch spots, but this was still a solid 3.5 stars!
