Unimpressive pastrami. If you like nearly dried out pastrami this place is for you! If you like watered down Cole slaw this place is for you. If you like a small pickle this place is for you! The packaging was great!

Great food,friendly owner!

Flavors were good. All dishes are a little pricey in my opinion. Meat is carved to include very fatty, inedible pieces.

One of the most delicious pastrami places I've eaten at. It's magical how the owner makes his pastrami. Perfectly thin sliced on delicious bread. Couldn't ask for a better sandwich. Will definitely be back to get another one.

Amazing service, and the guy shares the stories of how the meat is cooked as well as lets you taste it before ordering. It seems like preserving tradition is very important to this business :) please go here !

I'm so happy to have learned of this wonderful gem of a restaurant. It is immaculate, service was friendly and the pastrami was fresh, generously sized and delicious. We look forward to returning. Excellent all around.

I don't want to give them a bad review because the man was actually a decent person but I just noticed how he treated me as a black woman versus the white woman who walked up after me we were at the outside window purchasing our order the food is subpar the sandwich is not worth this almost $16 I paid for it but it's pretty decent the meat does have a distinct Turkish flavor The coleslaw was like soup very watery I was very disappointed the whole food experience was disappointing Because I been seeing this page on Instagram and wanted to come try it

To Begin, the website indicates first online order receive 10% off your order. Never got 10% off at checkout as indicated. When I arrived the place was nice a clean. The guy behind the counter was busy yapping w a coworker. I provided my name and was charged full price. The guy said, I got your order here, charged me as he continued his conversation. Handed me the bill. I paid. As he continued his conversation with the coworker. I ordered a Pastrami and cheese sandwich. .5 pd. The Bread was good. The pastrami was bland, no taste and hard. Certainly not fresh. The sandwich did not look like it had .5 pads of pastrami. Appears to be less than that. If you think you will get a sandwich that looks like the picture. You are NOT! The cold slaw was very creamy, hardly any cabbage and tasted sour. Did not eat was scared of getting sick. The best part of my meal was the pickle. The sandwich is too expensive for what you get. If you feel your experience would be like the New York Deli. You will be disappointed. Will I go back. Not! Being Honest.

No kidding, we literally got pulled in by the smell of sandwich and it was the best spontaneous decision we ever made. We tried the best Pastrami Sandwich and a cheese sandwich and my goodness they were amazing. The bread is crispy and crunchy while the inside is soft and melty with flavor. So simple yet so satisfying. I think the portion justify the price though because it's literally two meals. Definitely can't wait to come back and try other sandwiches and chat with the friendly owner.

About a month ago, I caught the tail end of Channel 11's Ben Aron's segment on NJ eateries. When I tuned in, Ben was standing outside of a walkup window, holding a massive pastrami sandwich on a frisbee sized flatbread. Since I missed the beginning of the segment I missed the name of the place. Determined, after a week of trying everything, the name popped up, Tostchu, on N. Willow St.. Wed. my foodie buddy Rick and I headed for Montclair to check this place out. It's located at the corner of Glenridge Ave. and N. Willow . It's a small, very clean place with a few tables inside and for those brave souls that enjoy eating in the heat, a few on the sidewalk. The sandwich I got is called the Best Seller, a pastrami and cheese (your choice) on a flat bread. No, this is not another Katz wanna to be and it ain't Epps Essen, that's not who they're trying to be. It's something completely different. It's closer to Montreal smoked meat (as a matter of fact there was a guy eating there from Montreal visiting friends in the area and he was praising the food). I told the guy behind the counter that I had seen them on TV and had driven from Long Island to try their pastrami. His face lit up and he told us the story of why they added pastrami to their menu as he handed my by buddy and me a healthy slice to sample while our sandwich was being made, Wow, it was great. The type of pastrami they use is lean with a small fat cap but the way they prepare it and slice it, knife sliced instead of machine sliced gives you a moist, tender sandwich. The other difference is that it's placed on a Turkish style flatbread You get to choose your cheese and the whole thing is slapped on a sandwich press. What you end up with is a good sized sandwich with great flavor. The owner is very friendly and they have a varied menu so if you happen to be with someone that doesn't like pastrami, there's gonna be something for them too. They offer 8 different pressed sandwiches. A wurst and potato salad and smoothies. The prices aren't bad $21- 10.00 . A lb of pastrami is $21.00. This is a gotta try spot, my brother ( an Epps Essen fan ) checked it out yesterday and is ready to go back .
