Not the same Adega of old. Service was good and ambiance but food is not the same. Drinks were expensive and food was not what it used to be. Restaurant was empty and it's because of value and quality of the food. Really miss the old Adega..

The food had absolutely zero flavor. I never mind spending money on a great meal but this was painful. I had paella and my husband had a ny strip. Both of us were extremely disappointed. I'm not sure where all these great reviews are coming from but very expensive for a very low quality meal. I will say the drinks were very good. Unfortunately, that's the only positive I could find.

What a great experience! From start to finish everything was top notch! The staff was friendly and so accommodating! The food was absolutely amazing! We are definitely going back again.

We had tickets to NJPAC and went for dinner before the symphony. Just as a warning, the menus have prices penciled in and we noticed the prices were almost all double the prices shown online. For example, the Seafood Combo for two is actually $148.00, way more than the online menu price of $75.00. Great restaurant for sure, just serious sticker shock with penciled-in prices on the menu.

This is our go to restaurant for special occasions. The atmosphere is warm, romantic European. Adega Grill has three distinctive sections: rustic, classic and contemporary. We prefer the original rustic section, which is decorated in brick work, with grape vines, built in wine cellars and a dark warm glow about the room. The service is excellent, attentive, but never rushed. The varied menu is a delight, with generous portions. It is a high end night out and well worth the visit. A perk is the free parking garage specifically for the restaurant, within walking distance, which is a plus in the bustling city of Newark, NJ.

We celebrated my sister's birthday there. The ambience was very nice. From the minute we entered the restaurant everyone was very welcoming. Our waiters were wonderful and the food was great. I will definitely visit again.

Our 2nd time dining there. Everything was excellent. We had the coal grilled T-bone and the grilled snapper with shrimps and scallops. The T-bone was perfectly grilled, medium-rare, was a very tender cut and the portion was generous with sides of potatoes, rice, veggies, grilled pepper and onion rings (the only one that wasn't up to par). If ordering the T-bone, skip the appetizer. The grilled snapper was also super tasty, perfectly cut. A nice portion but more on the regular size side. Previously, we had the ribeye and the flank steak, they were also very good but the T-Bone surprisingly is the star there. Service was excellent. 3 of us, no appetizers, 2 T-bones, 1 snapper, sodas and iced tea: tab was a reasonable $160 with taxes.

this is one of my very few favorite restaurants in Newark. Atmosphere, service and food is unbeatable. Secluded in the restaurant/grill area, at a high top in the bar style grill restaurant or at the galley bar restaurant. Bar none the best place to enjoy a drink or great food.

Peahea Valencia was fantastic as well as the salted cod. I would highly recommend each of these dishes. The salted cod does have more bones in it than some people might like but it was not a problem for myself or the other person that ordered it at the table. Take advantage of the wine list as well it is extensive and offers a nice selection of Portuguese wines as well as wine options from the US, Spain, Italy.

My/Our reservation was not how Adega Grill use to be. The first basket of bread was very old. Too tough to eat. We asked for more bread and the second one was better. I ordered the cod. Everything at our table was too Salty for everyone. Our experience was bad. It was a very windy rainy night 5 tables of people and they sat us all together. The table next to us were definitely loud and sounded drunk. I think the waiters wanted less steps to serve the five tables in the restaurant. Needless to say Adega Grill was not up to any of our expectations. You use to be my favorite place and food ...but not anymore. It was a very large bill for me to pay and was not worth it at all. You have declined w/ service and taste of food . We also asked for our potatoes to be heated and the waiter said no at first and he would have to ask the chef in the back. We will not be back.

This was our first time at the Adega Grill. We certainly were not disappointed. The restaurant, itself, is very inviting and so are the attentive staff. Our meals were delicious. The portions are huge. An added convenience is the free parking around the corner from the restaurant. We are looking forward to our next meal at the Adega Grill.

Adega exceeds expectations in every way possible! The quality of every single thing we tasted is amazing, we couldn't get enough! The portions are surprisingly huge as well. We got the king crab legs and American fillet mingon and we barely managed to eat everything ☺️ Do not miss the sangria pitchers as well!
