Everything was outstanding, from sangria to paella Valencia. Staff was great, attentive and friendly. Great experience, highly recommended.

I had a light lunch at the bar and it was spectacular! Started with a Gazpacho which was about the best I've ever had. I followed with some Croquettes which rivaled those my mother made and that's saying a lot. Was delighted I stopped by.

Meet me friend of over 48 years for lunch yesterday. Great food and service. The Sangria was delicious.

I have been coming here to eat since I was a kid for 20 years and place is good. The service was amazing. It's a delicious authentic Spanish cuisine. We will come back only for occasions.

I have been coming to Spanish Tavern for over 40 years. I move to The Phila. area in 1990 and still come here 4-6 times a year. I was here a few months ago and all was great. Today, I noticed some changes that had me concerned. The shrimp and garlic was not as good as it has been in the past. It seems the shrimp texture was different. The sangria was sweeter and more viscous than it was in the past. We really didn’t enjoy it today. My Spanish coffee was also different. They used to put a lot more whipped cream in the glass. The chorizo sausage, grilled Langostino’s, chicken and garlic sauce we’re all terrific. Service was fantastic. All the servers were very attentive to our needs. This young staff was very professional and pleasant. I still love the Spanish Tavern but some things should not have been changed. SP still has Free parking across the street. Enjoy.

Great food, drinks they are the hostess to the mostess

Awesome experience at the Spanish Tavern! The food was delicious but the friendliness of the staff was even better! I had a great evening there, even by myself, and they offered me a ride back. Highly recommended! I would definitely go back! I loved the Sangria and the Licor 43! Thanks guys!

Been here many, many times and always love everything ordered. I have to applaud the staff here, as they are super friendly and really want you to enjoy all there is to eat and drink. My favorite dish is stuffed scallops and I couldn't wait to have it once again, after finally being able to dine inside! I was not thrilled. Something wasn't right. First off, they are always served in the scallop shell. Not this time. Simply placed on the dinner plate. Seemed very overcooked, kind of like it was in the microwave. Chewy, and just not the same as I have had numerous times. Everything else was good. Chorizo also seemed different than in the past. In no way would I dismiss this great place, just a heads up that perhaps since the pandemic, things might have changed a bit. It is a comfortable, warm atmosphere that is good for date night, families, and all!

Repeat customer. As delicious as it was when we started coming twenty years ago. Paella, garlic shrimp, rainbow trout. And the best red sangria! It equals the delicious paella we had in Spain several years ago!

Nice place with good food and formal atmosphere inside. Lamb chops- tasty SeabAss- good Soup- collard green and potato- ok Sangria- very sweet If in the hood and seeking good food, this place fits the bill.

The Sangria is DANGEROUS (in a good way). The paella is deceptively large (it can definitely feed three people). Service was pretty good. The tables inside are crammed together so it's kinda hard to social distance.

Super authentic, Paellla was really great. Tomatoe salad app was also so simple but fresh and delicious. Friendly staff as well.

We had a nice dinner! It was my first time eating here. I had the calamari fries, paella valenciana and red sangria. The dinner comes with a complementary soup that is very delicious! Everything tasted really good, thw waiters were good, very attentive. I will go back again.

Newark is the place for great food from Spain & Portugal! Had the wonderful Bacalao Fish which is a must try here, also has some phenomenal Jersey Tomatoes (I don’t like Raw Tomatoes but they were too fresh & good with the marinate)
