“Not only is Ed a soup wizard, the atmosphere of his shop is adorable and cozy. You’re greeted with smiles and kindness from the wonderful woman who handles the orders. Each time I come, they remember me and my mom and give us extra of their delicious seeded rolls. They have a wonderful vegetarian soup that’s one of my favs. My mommom is a philly Italian woman and there aren’t many restaurants she finds better than her own cooking… but Ed’s soup is definitely one of them! She loves his soups.”
“The food was great(we had wings and shrimp), service was great (pretty sure the guy that waited on us was Jerry). As for atmosphere, the place appears to be a bar that serves great food. Wednesday nights are $1 eat in wings from 5-8, which means they're going to be seeing more of me on ”
“My wife and I like the taco pizza. I haven't had a problem with them at all. The people who work there are generally nice and polite.I recommend giving them a try.”
“This is a really chill local tavern. Great friendly service, and they serve Guinness on draft. There are also a few surprises here, but you'll have to come here to find out.”
“The food is out of this world. Unfortunately there's no real parking, nor real seating because of it.. it's mostly a take out place.Parking: Wawa next door so we parked there.”
“Always have a pleasant time when visiting this particular store. Employees are very courteous and friendly. Great placeParking: Store is inside a plaza with plenty of parking for neighboring stores”
“First time ordered from here tonight. My order was short a couple of things but I called and they sent another driver immediately. Food was tasty and hot. All in all great service!”
“The heirloom corn grits with crab fat sofrito & mother rucker burger were made to profección. Our server who I believe said her name was “(mi-ahh)” was also a vibe-genuine.”
“With an ever-changing menu, I know that no matter what vegan dish I order from Primary it’s always going to be exciting and delicious. Many of the dishes have kept me up at night from the french toast to the cheesesteak and the jackfruit medianoche.Chef Mark has always been hospitable and attentive, and you can tell how much passion he has for his plates and his community. This restaurant is truly a gem in Philly and the team behind its magic deserve all the success. If you’re looking for a place to try, you cannot go wrong by visiting Primary.”
“The dining experience here was pretty good but not exceptional. The food was alright for the price, service was friendly enough albeit a little bit slow and lacking in attention.”
“The food here is absolutely incredible. Just next level sushi that makes you not want to eat sushi from anywhere else. That RICE is just perfect. Also if you're lucky enough to snag a spot at the Omakase then you're in for a REAL treat. :)”
“Having grown up with Texas breakfast tacos I was excited to see a spot in Philly to create what I was missing from home. Bfast taco was good, flavor was def there. A bit on the pricier end for a breakfast taco, even with a homemade tortilla. Was hoping all salsas were given out as well, tried the guaijlo , had good flavor. Not sure if I’ll be a reg just because they’re pricey. But I do appreciate what they are bringing to Philly.”
“Fantastic experience top to bottom. Dropped in and got a seat at the bar. Ordered the chefs menu blind and was shocked at the amount of food and the quality. Fantastic all around.”
“Such a great experience. The service was quick. Oh the food ???Vegetarian options: Of the 10 options 3 were vegan based so I’d say that’s a plus!Dietary restrictions: Plant-based preferred”
“A stellar experience from start to finish. Our server, Morrigan, was friendly and knowledgable. Every dish was well thought through. And the decor & ambiance complements the concept brilliantly. It is obvious that this team knows what they’re doing and cares deeply about excellence. Will be back whenever we’re in the city.”
“Bought shrimp tacos, chicken tacos, esquites, chicken tacos and guacamole. The only downside is that the chicken tacos were made with dark chicken thigh meat, I wrongly assumed it would be chicken breast (my fault for not asking).Otherwise good decent food!”
“Food was really good. Drinks were amazing. Service was decent. I liked that they highlighted the fact that the 20% tip was included in the initial bill.Dietary restrictions: Lots of yummy vegan choices”
“Definitely the best omakase in Philly!! Quaint bar setting BYOB! Right up close great sushi masters. No special occasion just decided to have sushi with my son. Every course was outstanding! Flavors were amazing. I love seeing the reactions of the other patrons as the eat the courses! Will definitely be back many time hopefully. Well worth the drive great neighborhood ample parking. Beware of the non descript building. At $158 you will be very satisfied with every bite. The ala carte menu has some great add ins priced accordingly 20-38$. They offer hot and cold tea as well as a few soft drinks and water.Parking: Parking down the street metered cash or credit card. Get the appWheelchair accessibility: Same level as street.”
“Very small intimate space with the open kitchen directly on the floor. Had an incredible experience here! The staff was super friendly and bantered with us all night. The stand out to me was the scallop toast, it practically melts in your mouth. Though everything we had was excellent flavor and presentation wise. I will absolutely be back!”
“For the last 3 years the population of Philadelphia has declined as people run from the city due to crime, immigrants and hyper inflation. Vernick is a wonderful place to grab some fish on your way out of town.”
“This restaurant is located on East Passyunk in South Philly. I love the ambiance and service was great. Meat and veggie platter was delicious. The platter also came with pizza dough which was surprisingly really good. I am also currently obsessed with their gnocchi, it has the perfect texture and the sauce was amazing. Will definitely come back!”
“Food... Amazing!! Service... Fantastic!! Atmosphere... Cozy!!I highly recommend this restaurant. I enjoy the delicious food (especially the Salmon Freekah Salad and Pistachio Sticky Bun) and the Brown Butter Artichoke Borekas are everything!!! After a year of coming here, I've tried nearly everything on the menu ? Owner, Chef Mike Solomonov is incredibly generous!!!”
“My wife and I came here before a musical at the Kimmel center. She decided on it based off of good reviews found on Google and Yelp. We were not disappointed! Parking was a little tough but it didn’t take long to find a close spot. The neighborhood looked decent, unlike most other areas of the city where I feel like my car will be broken into for spare change. The lattes were delicious. They came to us hot, which can be hard to find surprisingly. I ordered the Shawarma, which came with steak, rice, pita, sweet potato fries, and scrambled eggs. She ordered the Entrecôte omelet. The potatoes were amazing. We also split an order of the Baklawa pancakes. Everything was delicious. The avocado tartar spread on my plate went so well with the rice and eggs. We would definitely like to come back here!”
“Oh man! I didn’t know I needed this place in my life but here we are! The Pastéis De Nata was perfect, the iced chai was incredible, and the Antonio breakfast sandwich was everything you’d want from a sandwich. Nothing was left on the plate!”
“So lucky to call Herman's my neighborhood coffee spot. There's inside and outside seating, and the market always has something weird and new. Bonus, there are usually Weckerly's ice cream sandwiches in the freezer.”
“Absolutely loved the Sundae. Potato chips and kettle corn must be in all of my sundaes going forward. The latkes were phenomenal - must order. The harissa broccoli was delish. The burrata and focaccia was a delightful favourite. The Caesar salad was overdressed and the croutons were too hard for my preference. The pepperoni pasta was exactly that - not the worst but it was something I'd make drunk in my kitchen at 3 am. Fries were meh.A solid 4 on the food front. Go just for the decor alone, feeling like I was in an 80s golf clubhouse. The pool table is cute and fun too.”
“We came here for my family members birthday and there was quite a bit of us (13), the owner Connie was an absolute gem and hooked us up with a private room. She came in numerous times to check in and make sure everything was okay and staff was so nice and quick. I have to say it was worth every penny, everyone was so nice and the food was AMAZING. We had a wonderful time, I would definitely recommend coming here.Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free options!”
“Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian dishes, but I knew that going in. It's a Southern inspired restaurant with a heavy focus on meat and seafood dishes - ribs, chicken, short rib, crawfish, shrimp, etc. I made it work and was not the least bit disappointed. The service was excellent and the drinks were delicious. The blue cheese stuffed olives in the martini were incredible.”
“My cousin got this recommendation. It could not have been a better choice. Food, vibe, service was top tier. It was a great dining experience. Adding this to my list of favorites in Philly!!!”
“I love this authentic Mexican restaurant! The food and layout of the restaurant is so nice and the cashier Emma was great to talk to. The birria tacos and flautas are really good and people should try them out.”
