I've been itching for some good soul food lately and had this place bookmarked. Today I finally made it. This is the only soul food spot near me. Here we go !!! This place is a hidden gem. My girlfriend divulged to me that she had never tried chicken and waffles before so a quick search on yelp yielded this spot. It's a small shop. Two small tables with two seats each and a counter with four seats. When we got there, a few regulars were sitting at the counter chit chatting with a gentleman behind the register. The food is okay, but not really what I would call soul food. Chicken was lightly seasoned and fried well. Macaroni and cheese tasted off. I'm not sure what kind of cheese they used to make it. Fries weren't as crispy as I would like them. Candied yams weren't seasoned at all, they didn't taste as sweet as they should have. It seemed pretty clean, and there was someone cleaning the bathroom I tried using it. Over all I'm glad I tried it but we won't be going back.
