I had the opportunity to eat at the Backyard BBQ on two occasions while working in the South Plainfield school District. The main person at the register was very nice and attentive. Held a great conversation. More importantly, the food was great the first time. So much so, that I had to go a second time. And the second time did not disappoint. Whenever I’m in the area again, I will be eating lunch and potentially dinner at this restaurant.
This is pretty much a walk-in but the food was excellent last time. When we've had the pork cubes they were dry. The shrimp appetizer is tasty but not worth the money. I know shrimp isnt cheap, but seems overpriced. THe $25 steak is right for the price! In the pic, I'd only cut off about 1/4 of the steak. Two of us ate it for one meal and I cut up the rest and fried it back into the rice as leftovers for three people.

First time trying this place. Compared to other local BBQs, we weren’t fans. Taste of food wasn’t that great compared to others. Service was good. Prices comparable to other bbqs in the area. Added updated menu with current prices.
