An outstanding old-school atmosphere, with excellent service, and traditional homemade Italian food, with great appetizers and salads.Great service from Tom, with an assist from Peter and staff. Our first time going, and will be back soon!

I love this place. It reminds me of having dinner at my grandfather's when I was a young kid. The food is better and my grandfather was a great cook. I cannot recommend a restaurant higher than this.

What we thought was going to be an enjoyable evening, turned out to be anything but enjoyable. First, I notice a women at another table point her finger at our table of 5, naive me thought she knew my sister as she has been a Pediatric NP in Trenton for 30 years and runs a clinic for children there now. The treatment was so rude, we had our food, which as usual was wonderful, packed to go as soon as served. No water offered, no appetizers offered, even though we ordered stuffed clams, never got them and unsure if they were on the check. We had just sat down to bread and salad, only to be asked for the 5 of us to be quiet, along with a table of 11 or 12 there too. The biggest surprise is that the rude not fun, jovial waiter was part owner. Shame on you!! This has never happened to me or my family who were there with me and grew up in the restaurant business. It was truly my worst restaurant experience ever!

Used to love this place. I live at the shore, so it’s a commitment to drive there and back, but my excitement to go this night was epicurean, as it had been quite a while since we delighted in Jose’s,(the waiter never offered his name) service maybe 15 or more years ago. I thought it was going to be a wonderful experience as it has been for many times throughout the years. It’s a family friendly wonderfully Italian restaurant. At first we thought the waiter was being funny but quickly realized it was just plain rude. There was a table of 11 and then we were 5 and both waiters asked that we quiet down for a table of 4, I guess they were insulted by good conversation, no cursing or vulgar remarks of any kind by any tables, and asked to be removed to another table in the kitchen. I guess they were desperate to get there. Just before I went I talked this place up to at least 5 friends that planned to go. I’ll be shore to let them know.

Not sure who wrote these reviews, but our experience was disappointing. The food was horrible. Food presentation was an embarrassment. A single meatball on a plate, stringy chewy asparagus and A chunk of fish in tomato sauce is disgusting and over priced. Nothing fresh about this place and would never recommend it! Absolute disappointment!

In a world full of Olive Gardens and Macaroni Grills, it's refreshing to see a thriving locally owned and operated old world Italian restaurant. This area has coined the phrase Trenton-style Italian , but the cuisine, ambiance, and family style approach is familiar to all us Italians from the tri-state area. This evening was sort of a small family reunion for our group so we got to try several things. Most notably the chicken parm, eggplant parm, pasta marinara, pasta prima, meatloaf (tonight's special), and a cauliflower salad with provolone and anchovy (you can customize this) and tomato salad. Everything was excellent and I especially appreciate that all the tomato sauce was low acidity made from local Jersey tomatoes. They have a full bar with very competent bar tenders. They executed my standard Titos martini, extra dry, up with a twist to perfection at least 3 times. There's a menu, but you're best off just listening to what the waiter tells you is on for tonight, then customize from there. Or try and go with a local who's been. The servers are excellent and a riot to chat with. They're very attentive. I just mentioned how I might be craving another cocktail and boom, it just arrives and I don't even recall having to ask. Highly recommend.

The Homestead Inn is a gift to our community. It never disappoints and is one of a kind. I have friends that visit from out of town and always ask, "Can we go to The Homestead?"

What an amazing night! We had a party at 15 which was already exciting. However, the home like atmosphere and family like attitude from the servers and staff made us feel like we were at our grandparents house on a holiday! From the wide variety of salad choices to the delicious pasta, entrée, and onto the main course, everything was amazing! Our table got a variety of roast pork and roast veal, ribeye, porterhouse steaks, chicken parm and haddock, and everyone’s meal was cooked to perfection with amazing flavor! I am looking forward to my next time there already! Definitely give this place a try, and you will not be disappointed!

I should preface this by saying our visit was in 2018. That said, there is an Italian restaurant (or two) on every corner in Hamilton. Go to any of those instead. The wait staff made us feel like we didn't belong. Did we forget the secret passcode, or something? Maybe if you know the passcode they'll give you the good food, too. Instead, my veal parm tasted like a wet dog smells, and the home made meat sauce was essentially slightly red water. How is this restaurant rated so highly? Needless to say, we won't be returning, even if someone posts the secret passcode.

My wife and I finally went. And happy we did. We shared an antipasto and each had a vodka martini. The antipasto was more than enough to share as an appetizer and drinks delicious. He had the steak and she, veal. As sides we ordered fried onions, broccoli and potato. We shared a huge bowl of vanilla penny butter ice cream. No complaints at all. Our servers Pete and Pete know their stuff and it shows. Yes we will be back sooner than later.
