Having grown up in the 'burg in the '70's, I'm curious about all the Latino restaurants that have replaced the Italian ones. Now living in Yardley, I jumped on my bike and made the trek over to El Mariachi. Feeling very comfortable in the ol' neighborhood, I locked my bike outside and stepped in. Meeting a very pleasant waitress who spoke as little English as I spoke Spanish, we worked it out with a lot of pointing. Fresh made, large and spacious dining areas. Large portions. Looking at the menu is deceiving, food is good. Mostly Spanish spoken and minimal English. Reasonable pricing, $9-12 dish is enough to feed 2 adults. Street parking.
A lot of good Guatemalan joints in town. This was one of the first, and still one of the best. Huge portions. Incredible green salsa. Greasy but really tasty pupusas. Love the Tostadas de Pollo.
