This place has been there for a very long time! The inside is a little dated but the good food sure does make up for it! The hot sauce is done correctly .. Simmered for a long time, didn't just have red pepper thrown in it! The portions are large and come with pasta or potatoes! The chicken Parm and shrimp francese were fantastic!

9 good reviews on their chicken Parm made us want to try. Frozen Chicken patties smothered in cheese is NOT good chicken Parm. The ziti had peppercorn in it and the noodles were stuck together in clumps. Service was good, food was not worth the trip.

I have to preface this with the fact that i have been going to the anchor inn with my family since i was a kid. Personally, I feel like the anchor inn is a place where people that go have been going for YEARS. Most people that go here know the owner Joe and his late wife Ginny.Often, when going to the anchor inn, you can expect to be here for a long time. This is not a place that will rush you- which is why we prefer to go with family, as you're able to not feel rushed. They do not have many servers, so the servers that do work there know the menu and are very helpful.Highlights on the food: their house made dressing is PHENOMENAL. We always get an antipasto with this dressing and wind up having countless bottles of it throughout our meal. The antipasto is large and a great quantity for a group. The meals here come with A LOT of cheese. Personally, myself and my family enjoy this. But, it's important to be aware of. Also, pro tip: some of the meals like chicken parm and eggplant parm come in very hot dishes. We dump the food out so it's not piping hot.Cons: the meals can take AWHILE to come out. And, at times, the quality fluctuates. For example, my husband loves the meatballs. During our last visit, the meatballs tasted frozen and we're not up to the par of the typical quality. Prior to this, the visit before, my father in law's food was terribly undercooked to the point where it was inedible. (He is someone who loves his food RARE too.)Overall, while the inside is a little more outdated, for me personally, this is a perfect spot for a family style atmosphere, with even better service and good food. The only downside is at times the quality can fluctuate.

Spaghetti ? in We had a thin sliced ?Pizza ?Some garlic ? with ? and it comes with a ? salad ? (Make sure to order the House dressing. Not high end establishment but nice friendly little local restaurant where you can be comfortable in any dress. Food is served fresh and piping hot. Salad was that day fresh and broiled cod was ample and delicious. Our server was attentive, professional and super nice. What more can you ask for? Excellent seafood at local landmark prices. Certainly worthy of return trips.
