An awesome dining experience with superb service and food. Thank you!

This resto was on our bucket list. Every time we passed by this place, we saw a queue in front. We decided that the best time would be when it opened. We got in fortunately but it is very popular with the locals. I didn't see any obvious tourists. The extensive menu has both Mexican and Anglo dishes. I went for the massive Freddy Sr brisket burger. It was excellent but too big for me to finish. The ambience is none -- more utilitarian and spartan. Prices are pleasing. Go for the local experience.

Food was great, large portions, fresh, tasty, absolutely delicious! Wish I live her to eat here again and again!

A shop owner recommended this restaurant and we were thrilled by the quality of the food. This was very different Mexican food than we've had anywhere else. They make their own tortilla chips and the shredded beef in the dishes we had was to die for. Most incredible stacked enchiladas. The salsa was also very tasty

We had the best food on our entire trip here. We started with the green chili stew, which was out of this world! We then had two different dishes, the brisket enchilada plate, (topped with green and red chili sauce of course) and the combination plate, which included a tamale, taco, chili relleno and brisket enchilada. Each came with two sides. The portions were amazing. We topped it off with a couple of Pacifico beers, and this was a wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent as well. We didn’t wait long as we went mid afternoon, there is also ample parking across the street. On a side note: We talked about this meal to anyone who would listen as a recommendation, it was that good.

Great food. Fantastic service!

Your standard New Mexican restaurant. Enchiladas were good but nothing special! You'll definitely get a solid meal here!

As a vegetarian, eating out can be a struggle. What Cocina Azul does with squash and zucchini is nothing short of amazing! Last year, we dropped in based on the awesome reviews that we found online, but now we schedule our travels so that we arrive in Albuquerque for an early dinner. While the odds are that you are not a vegetarian, if they can create something amazing with squash and zucchini, imagine what they can do with real food! Be sure to place your order for a bowl of queso!

Cocina Azul was a very popular place on a Tuesday afternoon around 2:00pm. Service was moderately quick (by our new Albuquerque standards) despite the busy crowd having a late lunch. Chips with queso and salsas were excellent. Enchiladas with green chiles and Chile Rellenos topped with carne adovada were delicious. This is a spot to which I would certainly return.

A great burrito and excellent chips & queso! We popped in while traveling and it was absolutely worth the stop! The atmosphere was pleasant, the servers polite and the food was great! Parking was easy with several signed lots around the restaurant. We went mid-day and there wasn’t a crowd but there were indeed happy customers!

Delicious, absolutely amazing food. Big portions for a great price and top end meats. There's no skimping at this place and the staff is as friendly as the food is amazing.

Our first time there. Excellent food, great service. I look forward to my next visit to Albuquerque.

Chicken taco was served on street tacos on a single plate with two sides. Combination plate was delicious. And, warm sopapilla to top it off was great. Very plain, border-town'ish interior which makes an authentic vibe. Fun wait staff. My suggestion would be for the restaurant to offer small plates or Ala cart for those with a smaller appetite. I could not finish my entre. Also, they seemed to have trouble serving my favorite Mexican beer. They offered a micro brew to which I said no due to mixed quality. They came up with Pacifico. Were they kidding about the microbrew?

What a low key and no nonsense but spot on place this is! We overate and almost couldn't walk after eating but absolutely no regrets. Let's start with the Chile stew- we got the bowl because we didn't notice the cup but it's a large portion and comes with sopapilla. Beautifully flavored. It's hot and spicy but the potatoes are done well and the beef is well cooked. Lovely soup! We took the combo plate - everything was fine but in retrospect we shouldn't have ordered it. It was a lot of food touching each other and becoming one. But pretty standard (nothing to rave about) taco, enchilada and stuffed Chile. Our other absolute favorite was the carne adovada. The meat was tender and beautifully flavored. Lovely hits of spices and the eggs were runny as I ordered so that was just beautiful with the pork. It's a huge portion again. We ordered sides- Posole and calabacita- the calabacita was a lovely surprise. I mean how can you do that with squash and stuff! Brilliant. Highly recommend going there :)
