Their food is pretty good. BUT they do NOT season their pinto beans. Like at all. I asked a waitress and she gave me an excuse about being gluten free. That’s just lazy. Spices don’t have gluten. When my family comes to town they often want to eat here and I’m hoping under my breath we don’t because I hate unseasoned food. Like I could not season food at home. Stop the presses! Talk about awesome New Mexican cuisine! In town on business, decided to treat my colleague to a meal at this local Albuquerque gem. Tomasita's did not disappoint! I kicked off my meal with an amazing chicken tortilla soup with nice thick chunks of chicken...i washed it down with an awesome Arnold Palmer(basically ice tea and lemonade). Tomasita's in Albuquerque serves a taste of New Mexican cuisine, but it leaves much to be desired. Despite commendable service, the dining experience fell short due to excessively spicy chile that bordered on overwhelming and a lackluster ambience. I ordered the Chimayo Plate which included a tamale and enchilada, though traditional, the flavor was overpowered by the spice.
