“This place is good for authentic tacos without a doubt! The birria was not my favorite, but it had good flavor. That pineapple water can have all of me! If I had pineapple water like Vaquero’s, I would never have to worry about staying hydrated ?The only other suggestion I have is making sure that the condiment bar is well stocked, even close to closing time, at least 25% for last minute customers.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options that you can find.Dietary restrictions: They have options for vegetarians as well as pescatarians and people who do not consume beef or pork.Parking: There’s no official spaces with lines. “This place is AMAZING. Everytime I get the opportunity, I go here and grab the Double meat cheeseburger. It is utterly fantastic. Most definitely the best burger in town. There is nothing more delicious or more satisfying than the food from this little drive in. If you want some amazing home cooking without having to cook for yourself, Luna's is it.“
“Their ceviche plate is fantastic! This place is my favorite thing about Hobbs. Sooooo good. The downside is the service is a bit slow for my liking, but I eat fast and for most people I bet they like not being bugged so much while eating. Definitely try this place. You will not be disappointed.“
“Had the deluxe breakfast burrito and it was awesome, so great to find a place that doesn't overcook their eggs. You could tell it was fresh ingredients and cooked to order. The gentleman at the window was super nice and the lady cooking had the greatest smile, which shows her joy and happiness in cooking. Can't wait to go back!!“

LOCATION/AMBIANCE The building where Chico's Burritos is located in Hobbs, NM, is tiny. It's more like a food stand in a not so pleasant looking neighborhood, but there is a drive-thru window. Outdoor picnic seating only. THE GRUB My brother recently got me a "Hurricane" ($4.50). This nicely-portioned burrito is a mishmash of bacon, cheese, chorizo, egg, ham, pico de gallo, potato, and sausage. It's not my favorite, but it was not bad. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB There is no kid's menu to my knowledge. SERVICE Friendly & fast. MY FAVORITE PART... Their tortillas. These are probably my favorite in town. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The area. Lol. Please, Hobbsans, have some pride or commission out the landscaping to some pros. TIPS + They also sell tacos, tortas, combination plates, burgers, and more. + Menudo on Saturdays!“
“Review #2,000! OVERALL Taqueria Villa Nueva is a Mexican restaurant in Hobbs, NM that serves the best torta I've tried in the dusty small town. This is a great place for a family meal. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4.5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING I parked near the front door but only because the place wasn't all that busy. I wish they would paint some parking lines or make it more clear where their drive-thru window begins and ends. Otherwise, it's not that far to walk with nearby street parking. LOCATION/AMBIANCE The dining room has a couple of beautiful murals inside. The buffet area was set up near the register and the kitchen. There were several different sizes of tables. They played a Spanish radio station in the background with good melodies, but way too many commercials at just before noon. THE GRUB As soon as I saw the opportunity for a torta de barbacoa ($9.99), I requested it. This Mexican sandwich was absolutely delicious. I wanted everything on it - meat, avocado, lettuce, tomato, & potatoes. This was an awesome portion for lunch. On the side was a batch of lukewarm shoestring fries which were not seasoned at all. I didn't eat many of them, so next time I will see if they will swap them fries for some arroz Mexicano! Lol. The nice lady asked me which salsa I wanted - "red or green?" I laughed and said both. She obliged. The red is definitely spicier than their green, but still I could not stop eating it. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB No kid's menu available that I saw. There were high chairs/slings, though. SERVICE Welcoming & friendly! My takeout order was out in about 5 minutes. MY FAVORITE PART... The barbacoa! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The fries! TIP Lunch buffet looked really good.“
“Came out here for oilfield work, hit this place up on the way back. Everything is authentic, the horchata is handmade, the food was phenomenal, and the service was on point. I would give this place 6 stars if i could. im actually quite sad because i dont know when i will be back ?“
“Best burritos in town. The food is delicious made from scratch, the staff is friendly and courteous, and they only do drive through which is super convenient! Their menu has something for everyone. Make sure you call ahead and place your burritos, especially if your going to be placing a large order 10+. Hobbs little hidden gem, you'll love it!“
“I like a good buffet, this place is a good example of quality over quantity. Everything here from the buffet to dessert is exception. Drinks are not over filled with ice, it's nothing less than above average over all, good old school New Mexico food. Not keep an eye on the time chart because parking can be tricky.“

“Food was delicious, but they were very busy so service was slow. We wanted to order sopapillas but they never came back to our table to check on us. We waited about 12 minutes then paid at the counter and left. The food was excellent and prices were great.“
“This is THE best place in Hobbs. It is small, but well worth the wait, if you have to wait. The food is so good. Asado is so tender and flavorful. I had to order some to go since I don't live in Hobbs anymore. I don't even like lemonade, but that is what I got while here cuz it is so good! Not too tart, not too sweet! They have so many choices on the menu too. My son got chicken strips and they were tender and juicy! We had lunch here on Saturday and came back for breakfast on Sunday! Do your yourself a favor and give this place a try!“
“Today was my birthday and we decided to go to Tia Juana’s. We could not have asked for a better dining experience! Our server was Kenzie and I give her 10 stars for personality, service and making our dining enjoyable!! I recommend her highly!! Best server I have had in a long time!!“
“In my opinion, La Fondita has the best Mexican food in Hobbs. The food is made with fresh ingredients, not canned. The salsa is great and goes really well with their homemade tortilla chips. All the dishes on the menu are great - from burritos to enchiladas to the breakfast plate. Interestingly enough, from the outside, the restaurant looks like a hole in the wall, but the inside is clean, cozy, and well decorated. I eat there all the time and recommend it to newcomers to town.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp from the parking lot to the front door; however, the parking lot is gravel, which can be tricky for some.“
“So it has been four plus years since I've been back to this location. I wasn't even sure if this secret little tacos and burritos spot was still here. Went driving around and I almost jumped out of the car because I was so excited to come back here to eat her great food. Small meat market with a line of customers. Yes if you do come in it's always good to know a little Spanish. Can't beat the great prices. I ordered a few tacos the Pastor was delicious and the lengua was nice and tender. Great flavors and awesome prices. Lunch for two $12.82. Can't beat that. They have a seating area and restrooms. It's a small place but they put out some authentic dishes. If you're close by you should definitely give this little spot a try. Love me some good Mexican food.“

“My boss, co-workers and I were invited to La Fiesta in south Hobbs, NM for lunch with a new vendor on 12/6/2023. This Mexican restaurant has been around long enough for me to remember this is where my senior prom date took is for dinner. Well over 20 years ago. Lol. I'm still not a fan of their salsa, but it's complementary and something to munch on while you wait. The chips are okay. My choice for grub was the #3 chile rellenos ($10.99). It was really good. Like a fatty, I nearly cleaned my plate too. The atmosphere was indeed decorated for Christmas. Carolers for a cause came in to sing and collect donations without being pushy or getting in our faces. They have seating for large and small groups. Our waitress, while friendly and efficient, was a little too efficient. Every time we needed something she would turn around as quickly as possible to hold fetch it just to come back for more requests. Ample parking was available on both sides of the restaurant. Please fix the hours on your front door! No clue when the open. (See my photo.) Oh, the business was good too. Very cool stuff on the horizon...“
“OVERALL El Coco Pirata's is a chain Mexican seafood restaurant in Hobbs, NM. They have other locations throughout Colorado and Texas. I really enjoyed a night out here with my parents for a unique meal in this small town. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4.5 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING Could be better. There is some on the north side right next to the restaurant or in the lot just across the street. There is minimal parking on the south side. It's a busy street so be careful. LOCATION/AMBIANCE This medium-sized venue is located on the south side of town with busy Dal Paso Street nearby. My dad refers to it as the ghetto. Some areas are rundown indeed and some outside work could be done, but it's okay. Inside, the high ceilings, flat screen TVs, Spanish music, and some oceanside vibes invite you to an open-style dining area. There was one lone restroom which I personally hate because sharing with other men is disgusting. It's well-lit inside. While we were there, a live 5-piece band came in to play about 8 songs. They never asked us gringos what we wanted to hear. Lol. THE GRUB Complimentary chips were decent, but not very salty. The first batch of salsa was mild. The second batch we received was a bit more smoky-flavored and had more of a chipotle essence to it. + michelada especial ($11) with Modelo - had bacon, cucumber, and shrimp too. So refreshing after a long day! + filete al olivo ($18) - "Basa swai fillet skillet cooked with olive oil, garlic, and chile de arbol served with rice and salad." I really enjoyed this because it came with three small flour tortillas - the perfect portion for me. But, the outer edges of the fish were a bit crispy and hard to cut into with my fork. That's the only silverware we were given was a fork each. + torre altata ($23) - this was a tower of all kinds of items: shrimp ceviche, cooked shrimp, lime juice-marinated shrimp, octopus, Mexican scallops, tuna, onion and cucumber in a red sauce and topped with avocado and chiltepin pepper. My dad said it was way too much for him, but it was good. + tacos de camaron ($14) - my mom devoured hers, not even bothering to let us try it so it must have been really good. I think it was three smaller tacos. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB They had a nice little kid's menu, but my kids were elsewhere so I'm not sure how it fared. SERVICE Most of the employees spoke English, but were also bilingual in Spanish and all of them were friendly. They worked super fast to bus tables, get drink orders, and serve meals. MY FAVORITE PART... My michelada! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The wait to get in on a Friday night. Why don't they use OpenTable?! Lol.“

THE GRUBIt must've been the ground-to-sky flag flapping in the breeze outside with "tortas" on it that made me gravitate toward the Mexican sandwich ($7.99). Mine came with two small sides of salsa, a red and a green - neither of which I truly cared for because they were overly acidic and not spicy whatsoever. The guisada that I chose was delicious, however, the portion seemed small.The horchata was served in a huge cup & didn't disappoint at all. “I can’t even begin to tell you how delicious the burrito I order here is. I always order the Super burrito. It is ground meat, potato, bean and cheese. Mmmm so good. I get their green sauce and truly I believe that is what makes this burrito so delicious. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.“
