“Have lived in Las Cruces 7 months and finally made it to Tacos & Shell-ah’s. I see them on social media a lot with different specials. Made it tonight for $1.99 fish tacos on Taco Tuesday. 2 tacos each was plenty. Enjoyed 3 new to us hot sauces and we’ve tried a LOT of different sauces in our travels. They have an outdoor patio, but was too cold to enjoy.“
“Love this place. The California Burrito was awesome. So is the Carnitas Quesadilla. The best part of it all, however, is the salsa. Very flavorful and just on the edge of being TOO hot. Perfect. However, I always know the next morning where I ate the night before.“
“This restaurant was the perfect place to refuel after a long hike. The egg, potato, and cheese burrito (pictured) and veggie burrito were delicious and generous in size. The red and green house made sauces are very tasty. Definitely wash everything down with the horchata!“
“If I could give 6 stars I would! My first time going to Tacos JJ did not disappoint. I chose several items to include: Tacos Al Pastor, Carne Asada tacos, flauta plate, an the burger combo. The Limonada was extremely fresh an washed all the amazing food down amazingly. You have definitely earned a returning customer.“
“I will continue to come here for the fact that the food is never old. My French fries are always fresh. The staff here is so friendly, especially Jerry Ann and Everytime I come here, I get the friendliest greeting. I have to talk about their Retrooms. OMG I have never seen a bathroom cleaner that this, EVER! I have been to several states, thousands of restaurants and fast food joints. This by far tops it all. Jose and Jerry Ann from Management are absolutely doing their job. The employees never seem to have a bad attitude. Good job to all of the staff. I highly recommend it. They get 10 stars if I could. ? Bravo ?“
“The price is good, especially for the breakfast special. However, the staff was unfriendly. My wife asked about menu options and the server acted like my wife was nuts for asking. The dining room is small and cramped. The tables were sticky.Vegetarian options: They will act like you are nuts if you ask about vegetarian/vegan options.“
“I dined here recently at a friend's invitation. I always enjoy the atmosphere at this restaurant. The service was attentive, as usual. I had the Black and Bleu salad which I thought was delicious and filling. My friend thought the chicken breasts were a bit tough. They were, but that seems to have been the case everywhere I've had them when eating away from home lately. It's possible it may be due to some state cooking temperature regulation. I really don't know. In any case, it wasn't enough to extract from my enjoyment of the lunch.“
“Came for lunch and had the salad bar. Great selection of veggies, fruits, dressings, and toppings. Also included with the salad bar is soup, the day I went they had creamy broccoli and pasole both were very good. They even had desserts like pudding, ambrosia, and jello. There was also a selection of cold pasta salads and potato salad. All that for about 15 dollars, it was fantastic. You can also order chicken to have with your salad for an additional charge as the salad bar didn't have any proteins.Vegetarian options: They have a huge selection in their salad bar all meat free.“
“We arrived around 2 and the food came out to us within 15 minutes. We had the bean and cheese burrito, ground beef and potato burrito, and the fried fish with corn tortillas. This restaurant is a gem in Las Cruces. Day service with a pleasant attitude. Clean and a nice selection of drinks.“
“We were driving through and stopped here for lunch. So glad we did. The food was great. My husband had the grilled octopus, it was delicious and tender. I had the tacos de alambre, and they were also great, even the rice and beans were properly cooked and flavorful. The portions were huge! I had a hard time finishing it, and I wish I could’ve taken left overs home, but that wasn’t an option since we were on the road. They also gave us soup, chips, and salsa on the side. I would definitely want to eat here again ?“

I will go back again.UPDATE 3/2024: It is currently Lobsterfest and there were new items for that event, as well as other new menu items that were all appealing.I had white wine and garlic mussels, which were To Die For, and the new SW Shrimp bowl with salad mix, orzo, pico de gallo, and some fantastic shrimp!It's never the same old thing at this location, although all the favorites are still there.Again, I will go back!“
“Had cajun crab for first time. Gen tso, happy family, tempura sushi, egg roll, and Mai phone with chicken and I am impressed. Price was great, food was delicious and service was wondeful. Will so recommend this place and eat there again soon.“
