Experience Halifax's Mexican food at these fantastic spots.
“The service was very good..I sat at the bar alone and was well receive by one of the barmaid. The food was very good for.the price. Not my best mexican restaurant food experience but mixed with the ambiance of the place, it makes it a pleasant experience.“
“If you go in thinking the food will be like Taco Bell, you are going to be sorely disappointed. This is NOT American food. That stuff is fake Mexican food dressed up with tonnes of cheese. Tako Loko is authentic, the real deal stuff. It doesn’t weigh your belly down and make you feel bloated after. This is really good, honest food.My wife and I are making this a regular go to place, nothing compares to it for quality, taste and atmosphere. It’s a nice and quiet small corner restaurant. So far the veggie tacos and the shrimp tacos are my two favourite so far.“
“It was our first time visiting Mexi’s at this location and we had a great experience. Adam T delivered awesome service and the food was fantastic. Prices may seem a bit high on the menu until you see how much food you get. LOTS of protein, big chunks of chicken on the nachos where some places you have to look for it. I loved how you got to choose between corn or flour tortillas for the fajitas and the taste of the chicken was super fresh. The green sauce on the nachos had a bit of heat to it and it was very good. The only suggestion I have to enhance the dining experience would be to turn the bright lights down at the bar. They were shining brightly into my eyes the whole time we were there and that wasn’t comfortable. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our night out at Mexi’s Halifax and will return soon.“
“I loved the atmosphere and how delicious everything was. It's a small venue with limited seating allowing the staff and kitchen to focus on quality food and service. I also loved how the menu was short; you knew that whatever you ordered would be delicious. The food did not disappoint, the nachos and the tacos were so tasty and generous portions! I'll be back and next time to try their bao ice cream sandwich :)“
“If you go here looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, then you’ll be disappointed. That’s just not what they offer. What they offer is a fast, delicious, friendlily served, and budget friendly lunch in the form of burrito. Choose your base (Bombay curry or guacamole for vegetarian) and add whichever toppings you please (but don’t miss the pickled onions, they’re superb). Watch as the staff build you your enormous custom burrito. The most important part for any burrito joint is that the staff know how to role it up proper with as much filling as possible. The staff at Habaneros do just that. If this sounds good to you, then why not give it a try? They have indoor and outdoor seating as well.Note: The hot sauce is not super spicy, probably because it’s not very authentic but it’s not a dealbreaker. I would just ask for more if you’re a real spice fan.“
“With a lot of enthusiasm, I ordered online and came to pick up today. The process of ordering online and picking up was smooth and timely. The dishes were packed neatly in branded plastic boxes, through which the food looked amazing. You can definitely notice the authenticity of the flavors, However, I had only two issues with the:De Patacon was incredible, but very hard to hold in my hands. Everything inside fell apart, and they had to eat the amazing ingredients separately. The beef empanada, although crispy, it is still deep-fried in the corn dill flavor, overpowers the taste of watching Side.I will definitely come back for another taste of the amazing Patacon, hopefully you’ll figure out how to eat it correctly“
