Ratinaud Reviews
Went here in September and grabbed a late lunch the afternoon the Queen passed away. Didn't know what to expect since we were the only ones there - but the chef whipped up a spectacular dish of duck leg confit, green beans, potatoes, and some just-foraged yellowfoot chanterelle mushrooms. Got some helpful tips on mushroom hunting in Nova Scotia that I put to good use a few days later on a camping trip. Can't recommend highly enough.
Fantastic quality products here... the duck confit is heavenly! My first visit, several months ago, was marred by a very dismissive, unhelpful staff person. Even after spending over $125, she seemed to almost go out of her way to be rude. It made me hesitant to go back. That said, yesterday, the young woman behind the counter was friendly, helpful, and efficient. What a relief!!!! Thanks for your pleasant service - it goes a long way!

The saucisson sec here is incredible. If you know the smell and taste of a real saucisson sec from France, you'll be very happy. I've been living in Canada for over 20 years and I've never had one come close to the real thing until now.The cheese selection is incredible, reasonably priced, and the house made paté is unreal. You can't go wrong. You'll spend more than you intend to, and when you get home and give everything a try, you'll have zero regrets.
