Was hoping we finally found good Chinese food in Reno. Sadly still on the hunt. Service was terrible. $3.50 for a soda with no refills. Menu is over priced. Food was bland. Sushi tasted off (cream cheese should not taste like mayo). Found plastic packaging cooked with food and when we brought it up it was ignored. Waited 15 min for our check to be picked up and they suggested 18% for tip on that service! Unbelievable. Don't waste your time, money or potential stomach pains on this place.

Excellent all the way around. I started with a cup of Hot & Sour soup. My entrée was the Black Pepper Chicken and it was a generous portion. The sauce is elegant and distinctive without being overpowering. The service and atmosphere are both upscale. This is the best Chinese food I've had in Reno by far.

THEY POISONED MY MOM. That is not an exaggeration. My family called in for dinner tonight and when placing our order, very clearly reported that my mother has a deathly shellfish allergy. We know how to communicate about this - specifying absolutely no shrimp, oyster sauce, anything that has touched or been prepared in the same area as any shellfish, anything fried in the same oil as shrimp or other shellfish. Sometimes restaurants will refuse to fulfill an order because they can’t guarantee against cross-contamination, and that is completely fair. This restaurant said it wouldn’t be a problem. When we picked up our order, it said on the ticket “shellfish allergy - no shrimp, no oyster sauce.” That’s usually a good sign that the allergy was communicated.However, we were a few bites into our food when we found little WHOLE DRIED SHRIMP in at least one of the dishes!!! My mother had already started eating, meaning we had to immediately stop our meal and prepare to administer an epipen and take her to the hospital if she started getting a severe reaction. We were very, very lucky that she only consumed a small amount of contaminated food and was able to avoid a severe reaction. To be clear though, she is sick from this and it is 100% the fault of Jazmine restaurant. A mid-level allergic reaction like this is as bad as food poisoning.We called the restaurant afterwards to tell them what happened, and the manager did not seem to understand the severity of what had happened. She talked to the kitchen and said there was “shrimp in the XO sauce” and “the kitchen must not have read the note on the ticket” but did not apologize, ask if our mother was ok, or offer to refund any part of our meal. She offered us a credit towards a future meal - but why would any of us ever eat at a restaurant that would make this kind of error?? I’ve held food handlers permits in 2 different states and worked in many restaurants - the first and most important responsibility of a restaurant is to not make people sick. This wasn’t just a small mixup or a fringe ingredient in a minor sauce, there were actual shrimp on our plates. That is a massive, massive error and my mom could have died if we hadn’t caught it so quickly. Worse, none of the restaurant staff seemed to care.

This is based only on the sushi. Granted we haven't been here in a while. But we have been quite a few times for the sushi in the past.Last night we went and the sushi side doesn't seem to be open anymore. We told them we were there for sushi and they sat us on the Chinese food side, which was fine.We ordered a total of 4 rolls. First issue is the rice was crunchy. The second issue was that two of our rolls tasted fishy, third issue is that one of our rolls tasted like lemon. Granted they have rolls that have lemon, but we did not order those.Our waiter came by once to deliver drinks and then never checked on us again.We had to ask one of the food runners for our check.Our impression was that they may be phasing out their sushi all together because they certainly aren't making much of an effort. In any case, we won't be returning.They do seem to get great reviews on their Chinese food, but we have never tried it.

Discovered this place by accident when I was working in town before COVID. Had some of the best wonton soup I've ever had and brought my husband to experience this restaurant. We had sizzling rice, soup, chicken, chow, fun, and mixed vegetables and absolutely everything was delicious. Our waiter was very helpful and checked on us without being obtrusive and we really enjoyed our meal!

Jazmine is a somewhat unique experience in that it is both a Chinese and sushi spot. I've not taken the opportunity to partake in the sushi but the Chinese restaurant is a solid bet.The Peking Duck with Lotus Rolls and Plum sauce is pretty legit. Many of the dishes fall into the kind of greasy category so prepare yourself for a heavier meal.Overall the atmosphere is usually on the quiet end and fairly nicely decorating. Definitely an appropriate stop for a lunch with co-workers with a menu broad enough to suit most tastes.
