I was VERY happy and surprised to see a Salvadoran restaurant in SV. The pupusas are good, the curtido could be better but it's still decent. Definitely not like the ones back home in Los Angeles but it still hits the spot. The service is great! Friendly staff, especially when if you speak Spanish. Their faces light up. The burritos (the basic one) is pretty bland. Not something I'd choose again tbh. It's definitely worth going too for the pupusas and tamarindo drink
The food here is so good! The pupusas are my favorite. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is really nice. Love it here.Vegetarian options: Just order food without the meat. We order beans and cheese pupusas, the rice is great. The platonos are delicious. There are plenty of options

Fast Mexican and Salvadorian food. As far as fast food establishments serving similar food, El Paisano ranks in the top 10. Parking is at a premium. I usually call in my order. Fair prices, good food. Lacks inconsistency in making pupusas. Different workers use more or less of the stuffing, creating an inconsistent product.
