We had the filet and giant tiger prawns. It came with a green salad, fabulous mashed potatoes and vegetables. The New York cheesecake was delicious. Very upscale restaurant.

Had an awesome dinner at the Boomtown Steakhouse! The service was excellent and the food was great. I would definitely recommend this place!

First of all the service, from the time we called to make a reservation (when they answered), including our Server once we arrived until we left, was top notch. My wife loved her prime rib. My son was underwhelmed by the beef tips appetizer, and I felt that my steak had the same issue - just too much of their glaze. Had I know the glaze was so heavy, I would have asked for less. The potatoes and roasted veggies were pretty bland and seemed to have no seasoning. For the price point, I expected so much more from the food. The ambience was great.

Three of the four ordered T--bone steaks only to be told they were out of t bones? this is 5:30pm on a Friday evening, they are starting a busy weekend and are out of the lead item on the menu. I switched to a $45 porterhouse 22oz and the other two ordered the New York strip. My porterhouse showed up looking like a t bone, body temperature at best, I complained and the manager showed up, I showed her my T bone imitating a porterhouse, she said nothing just turned and left. The steak was tough, lacked flavor. We were offered 10% off on our three meals. My wife ordered a Crème Brule , terrible, the vanilla custard was thin no egg, no flavor and the Caramelized sugar was burned with a heavy burn flavor. The meat is not prime and the cuts are not as listed. I cut a lot of beef when I was younger, that was not a porterhouse.

We have been to this restaurant twice and have not been disappointed with the quality of their steaks and prime rib. This last visit there was a discrepancy on our bill and the manager took care of it. Their manager Dorothy was very understandable and took care of the issue. We recommend this restaurant very highly.

We would like to share a dining experience with you. We have lived in Reno for 28 years. We have always enjoyed fine dining in many of the restaurants in the area. But let’s face it, corporations are taking over lots of the properties and they are loosing their luster to put it mildly. Last week we went to the Steak House at Boomtown. Friends had told us that it was as good place, but we just never got there. The prime rib was excellent, prepared perfectly. Everyone we encountered from the hostess to the table servers were over the top, accommodating our every need. Our waiter, Jack was correct on everything he did. The whole experience was just great. It is a bit of a drive for us to get to Boomtown, but it is now our destination when we want great prime rib. Thank you to Jack and the whole staff for a wonderful dining experience. J and A Reno

For a blue collar casino with regular rooms and a freeway to catch customers this steak house is EXCELLENT. Huge Wine list, great service, Specials that are great however spend 10 dollars more and try the fish. Even better the Beef Ribs. Slow cooked, well seasoned, cut off the bone just before serving... Simply put the best beef ribs I have ever had and I'm a big time carnivore..

We were pleasantly surprised how delicious the food was at Boomtown Buffet. A must visit east of Reno.

It's not the elegant "Cassidy's" of a bygone era, but it's getting close. Under the new Manager, Rick, The Steakhouse is making a revival toward it's storied past. the Service is Excellent and the food is Very Good and Moderately priced. My 21 day aged Primerib was excellent as was my Wife's Chicken Entree. The accompanying Fresh el dente Vegetables and Potatoes were also nicely done. We look forward to trying more of the Menu, including the Lamb that has been a Real Treat in the past. The Steakhouse is only open on Wednesday through Sunday, officially from 4:30 to 8:00 but they are not strict about the 8:00 closing time.

This buffet was extremely limited in its offerings. Yes, they have lobster, but in terms of sides, there was not much variety. Mostly rice and noodle dishes with a heavy Asian bent. The prime rib was almost raw. The fried chicken was rubbery. We had to flag down our waitress to get beverages and she never came back to refill them. The soft serve ice cream machine was broken and droning on terribly while two of the staff just stood an looked at it for about 20 minutes. Save yourself some money and avoid this buffet!

This buffet is a GREAT deal on Thursday and Friday nights. At $7.77 it is like buffets in Reno are supposed to be. Lets face it, the gaming is not what it used to be anywhere--you're almost certainly going to lose unless you have some edge and a strategy. At least one would expect to get a decent meal at a decent price. Boomtown Buffet is just that! I never bother spending the extra 5 bucks for lobster, as there is plenty of great stuff to eat at the base $7.77 price, but if you want lobster, spend the extra five! Even if you do, it will be about half what you would spend on any of the other buffets at the big boys downtown or on South Virginia. It was only a decade ago that you could get a comparable price for a buffet at the Silver Legacy, Harrah's or the Atlantis. What happened, big kids on the block? Anyway, the food is just as good at Boomtown and the atmosphere just as comfortable.

Family & Friends went to the Boomtown BUFFET after a nice day of snowshoeing at Donner Lake.. Upon paying & being seated promptly, we all were greeted by a wonderful friendly server named " SONG " whom quickly took our drink order, with a huge smile.. We never had to ask for drink refills, plates cleared or napkins after that. Boomtown, should be proud of such a professional, kind, conscientious server. SONG, made us feel so welcome & along with great food. We definitely will make this BUFFET top of our list.

The lobster buffet has been a staple at Boomtown for years. I have tried it several times, always with the same results...... a very chewy, tasteless lobster. You need a steak knife...... the good news if you want to call it that is you can have as many as you want. If you want a buffet, drive a half hour to one of the resort casino/hotels.
