“Amazing Indian food in a relaxing and chic setting. Great price for a Michelin star restaurant and service is fantastic. My favorites were the dosa and the mung beans. The squash kurma was a bit bland compared to the other dishes. The cocktails were also incredible.“
“We have been here twice and it got better each time. Second time for a private event that was INCREDIBLY done. Chef Jay was so attentive and every morsel was enjoyed. If you love south Asian cuisine you will love this. If you don’t, you will still love this. It’s an imaginative and modern take that gives you flavors you should savor and applies them to your favorite foods.“
“Both the food and service are worth coming back for! Standouts were the lassuni gobi, tandoori chicken, fish amritsari, and garlic naan although everything was worth a try. Our server Azar was very attentive and personable. Finding good Indian restaurants in the city isn’t always the easiest but this one is definitely a standout!“
“Great new place! Entrée's were pretty good. Really authentic. We had bhendi masala, vegetable jalfreji, and yellow dal. All were really yummy! Rotis were great too. Appetizers could have been a bit better. Service was really top class. Loved the ambiance.“
“Recently moved to Williamsburg, and as a vegetarian, I’ve been so excited to try a variety of restaurants. We made a reservation and when we arrive, there was about a five minute wait. We had absolutely no problem with that as typically there are weights at restaurants, even with a reservation, but a man who I believe was the manager brought us water and an appetizer to snack on while we waited and apologized more times than necessary. Best part is when we did sit down and have dinner. This ended up being the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Excited to come back and try the rest of the menu!“
“This restaurant was fantastic and we are so happy leaving there. They went out of their way for us, especially Monzu who went especially above and beyond to meet our needs. I had a weird request that they didn’t normally have on the menu and he made it with such pleasure and utmost hospitality. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. We will definitely be returning. Homey, cozy vibes and comfortable atmosphere. Quality food and amazing service- can’t ask for more. GO HERE!“
“I was on a work trip and have very special eating needs and Hemant and staff really came through for me on very short notice!!! I will forever remember and HIGHLY recommend to anyone!!! Thank you Hemant and Staff for going above and beyond for me!! Darcy T.“
“Had not expected something like this during my US travel.Paani Puri assortment was many notch better than what we get in Mumbai.Vibes is all Deshi and representation of PAN India taste.Chandrakala Gujia popular sweet dish from Patna ,Bihar was another pleasant surprise.Vegetarian options: It's not just vegetarian but great taste and perfect blend of spices served with warmth. Loved the place and loved the food.“
“Harsh was educational and kind about the different dishes we were served from beginning to end. This was my first time at Vatan. At the end, as a dairy free consumer, a dessert was given to me that was dairy free dessert, that’s call soan papi and I appreciated that soo much!“
“Solid, well-seasoned, tender, and juicy fried chicken. I’ve heard about how spicy the fried chicken is, so I got scared and ordered the lowest spice level. I’m happy to report it had zero spiciness. If you like a little bit of heat, you should order the second lowest spice level.“
“My favorite takeout Indian in the area! I usually go Chicken 65 for an appetizer which has (in my opinion) the perfect spicy level between flavor and spicy. For meals, you can’t go wrong with the Chicken Tikka Masala (or Vindaloo) + Garlic “
“Came here with a large group of friends and had an incredible time! Everything I ate and drank was absolutely delicious and tasted so authentic. I would definitely recommend the Golgappa as an appetizer and the Lotan ke Chole as an entree! Add the Pipli cocktail and it’s a perfect night :)“
“Awesome food, they serv fresh and hot food.pomfret fish fry and crab masala taste deliciousAlso tried parrota with Chiken gravy.. Mouth watering taste..also the new chilly chicken and chilly paneer fry and more indo Chinese will definitely coming backVegetarian options: Paneer butter masala , veg kurma , garlic curry , egg plant curry“
“Decent food, but I was expecting more as it is a Michelin Star restaurant. We choose the Executive Lunch, Kashmir special. Food was good, but nothing that would blow your mind. The ambience was nice, staff was attentive and the drinks menu was good. A satisfying experience but makes you expect more.“
“Deccan Spice in Journal Square truly captures the essence of authentic Hyderabadi cuisine with their haleem. This rich, slow-cooked stew melds flavors perfectly, offering a taste that's both robust and nuanced. The meat is tender, the wheat is finely pounded, and the blend of spices culminates in a savory, heartwarming dish. It's a delightful experience for anyone craving traditional Indian flavors, and a must-try for lovers of hearty, spiced dishes.“
“From outside it looks like Small boutique Restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine & I just found it while roaming around streets of New York during recent visit & this accidental discovery didn't let me down, food quality & quantity both are amazing, owner is present almost from 11 am to 11 pm & staff is courteous, highly recommended as I visited all the sought after restaurants in town but this one stands out for the gourmet Indian food.“
“Sensational restaurant with such wonderful service and authentic Indian food. The proficient servers provided us with a marvellous experience on our special day. Fahad was an exceptional server who gave us with a wide variety of options and acclimated us to our specific needs. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this place.“
“Hands down one of the best authentic Indian food we had in NYC. Everything was so fresh. The owner was very welcoming and truly showcased “atithi devo bhava”. It felt like home. They customized the paneer tikka for my kid and she loved it. Would absolutely visit this place again.. and again.. kudos!!“
“Baingan bartha & Dal tadka are 10/10. The baingan bartha is easily their top dish, super rich, with the right amount of sour + sweet + spice. The dal tadka is so wholesome, a little high on garlic. I would recommend the “desi spice” level as the flavors can be a bit mellow otherwise. The paneer was okay - not the softest and the flavors are pretty typical. 20% tip is mandatory and included.“
“I’ve been to a lot of NYC’s top Indian restaurants, and I think Sathi has the best Indian food & service!Food: the prie fix menu is a great bargain - you get a full-size entree, appetizer, and side (naan). The naans are huge! We also loved the crispy samosas and the amazing chutney that came with it.Service: the staff was just so wonderful. They went above and beyond to delight us! We’ll definitely be back.“
“Very lively ambiance when we went on a Tuesday night for dinner! We got 2 prefix meals which included everything. We got the Vindaloo and Makhni curries. Vindaloo is definitely for spice lovers (be careful) and Mahkni was very delicious ? The best item on the menu was the vegetable samosa with the sauces, a must try! Service was nice and attentive. Definitely check out if you’re in the area.“
“Diminutive space with down-at-heel appearance —but the urban decay is part of the charm. The samosa and aloo tikki were good. Both are potato heavy but herb seasoning is present and noted and flavorful. They’re large, hot and filling. Great option for cheap filling hot snack if you have cash. $3/ each. Cash only. The English spoken here is barebones strictly transactional English.Vegetarian options: Pretty sure everything here is vegetarian.“
“We tried Indian Table for restaurant week and now we are hooked! The service was amazing and staff very knowledgeable about the food. Everything was explained to us and it felt very inclusive. The food was full of flavor and spices from the Portuguese and Indian regions. The drinks were amazing. I recommend to any one to try this place out!“
“The best kebabs in the US so far! I had the Goat Doori kebab sheermal and it melted in the mouth with so many flavors. Its a must eat here. The Andhra Chilli Chicken is really hot and spicy. Do mention spice level for chilli chicken if not you will experience the spice level like never before. I loved the saffron pancakes with the dry ice on it with beautiful presetation. The sweet potato chat was good too. Overall Super tasty food items on the menu. I would defintiely try others next time.“
“Came for momos, left extremely satisfied! Their steamed chicken momos taste authentically Nepali, and the aachar (sauce) is the right amount of savory and spicy. Excellent service and great atmosphere and music. I'll be back to try the chili and jhol momos!“
“Chill to the max and proper Indian. I feel transported back to India when I am there. The garlic naan as good as in Delhi. When I need cheering up and great food I make it there. The music in the background is not bad and not too loud. The service is stellar as Miguel is cool and he tells you what to get and he is always right on point. If you are in the mood for some libation, it is BYOB.I must admit also love the cheese naan. Can never get to the desert as I order too much to start.See you in the neighborhood.Vegetarian options: All that you could ever want and even vegan options.“
“Our server Tanmay offered amazing hospitality. Warm and welcoming, with great menu recommendations. The food was delicious, our table neighbors at the outdoor seating enjoyed everything as music as we did. The specialty cocktails were particularly fun.“
“Ordered delivery, and it arrived so quickly! I’m talking minutes from order placed. The quality and portions were perfect! Especially the Garlic Naan! The Chicken Tikka Masala could have been a tad sweeter, but still delicious! Will definitely order again!!“
“Came across this place on Uber Eats so we decided to take advantage of the buy one get one free deal for the roti rolls. I like that you can customize your roll to however you like so the options are endless! Pleasantly surprised at how fast the service is and how amazing the food is! The ingredients taste fresh and the portions are the perfect size. It's our second time ordering from here and we were not disappointed! Safe to say this will be a regular spot for us and I look forward to trying the other items on the menu.“
“Ordered the Charred Chicken Bowl, and I must say, it was phenomenal. It had a flavour that was unbeknownst to me in a bowl. The coconut ranch mixed with the habanero sauce, really do create a unique flavour profile. Also, the chicken marination was something that was brand new to me. Do give it a try!“
“This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the city! Such a hidden gem. The food is incredible (the lunch and dinner deals come with big enough portions to last me two meals) and the people who work there are beyond kind and incredible. Also, the Cauliflower appetizer is my favorite!!“
“Update: surprisingly good service this time with decent food. Keep up the good work!Old review: Decent food but the service was really horrible. The server didn't get the right order and was very rude - accused us of lying just for 2 pieces of naan! Must learn to treat customers with respect first. Also, they charge a 20% gratuity for insulting you.“
“Curry and Handi has delicious, truly fresh, and flavorful food. I think it is the best Indian food I have had since visiting India 2 years ago. As a vegetarian I appreciate the offerings and highly recommend the broccoli tandori. The service is excellent as well.“
“My favorite restaurant of all time. I've gone through at least half the menu and you can't go wrong with anything you order. Would most strongly recommend the daal as an accompaniment and the treacle for dessert, those are my two "musts" every visit.“
“I visit Veeray da Dhaba with not very high expectations because frankly speaking it’s very difficult to find good Indian food outside South Asia. But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this place. I had ordered saag paneer which was flavorful and had a freshness to it that is rare to find in curries in Indian restaurants. The lime soda was refreshing too with just the right amount of tanginess and spiciness to it. Serving size was pretty decent. Rotis were hot and crispy. Service was friendly and efficient. I found the ambience warm and unpretentious. And above all, that pretty decent meal with a drink costed me just 20+ bucks — so easy on the pocket too. I look forward to visiting it again on my next visit to the town.“
“The food is unapologetic true to the name. It’s not for everyone but for those who can handle spice and flavours or want to stray beyond the sweet paneer makhani dishes littering every Indian restaurant - give it a shot. Not cheap even for NY standards !“
“I came toward the end of their service hours, about 9:20 and was greeted warmly. Service was impeccable and the food was so delicious. I usually get Indian food in Astoria along 30th Ave. None compare to Cardamom. They are not huge and doesn’t seat many, but it is clean, well decorated and the staff is friendly and attentive.I had the lamb methi curry, vegetable samosa, naan and mango lassi. All were perfectly delicious and beautifully presented. If I were to have one complaint it would be that the methi curry could’ve been spicier since I ordered at the highest spice level and found it to be just mild. Still delicious though.I will come here instead of my usual haunts.“
“I went here with my dad, it was nice, quiet, room temperature and well lit.The service was great ?? they came to check on us every few long minutes and we’re very friendly and kind. The food was so good!! If you don’t know what to order they can recommend things for you based on your taste. The garlic Nan was SO YUMMMy flavorful and soft !! And the rice was soft and the meat was well cooked and spiced. I ordered chicken Korma And my dad got salmon mansala. We both ordered a mango lassi and it’s sweetAnd smooth Everything was great I definitely will be coming back!“
“We came here for on a weekday for lunch and got seated right away. Initially we wanted to order off the lunch special menu but be advised the lunch special menu is for take-out only! We ended up ordering the Tikka Masala, Mango Lassi, and Lamb Vindaloo. The food was very flavorful and delicious! Our server was great and friendly. Highly recommend!“
“This place is an amazing find so close to Times Square! If you are in the are don't miss the opportunity to have dinner, or lunch here. The ambiance is great for a date night, the food is so flavorful and delicious, and the staff are so friendly and attentive.“
“5 stars is not enoughLove the breakfast specialThe Haleem is made with beef not lamb. Everything so flavorful.Seekh kebab very well spicedGreat samosas. Daal puri good when fresh.Don't care for the rolls, biryani, or lollipopVegetarian options: Daal puri fresh hot delicious“
“The owners are amazing The inside is amazing you have to come there with your family very delicious beautiful food and I don't go out to a lot of restaurants but this is one of the best I've been to hospitality is awesome trust me.“
“Wow, this was one of the best meals I've ever had. Every dish was perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented. The flavors were subtle and delicate and each bite was exquisite, you could tell the chefs cared deeply about their food. I am blown away.“
“Best Birayani & more is your go-to spot for mouthwatering biryani. Their aromatic biryani, whether chicken or lamb, is a must-try. But it's not just about biryani—the butter chicken and paneer tikka masala are equally delicious. With generous portions and friendly service, Best Birayani & more is your ticket to a flavor-packed Indian feast.“
“I come to Bombay all the time! This is my favorite Indian food in the financial district / downtown area. I recommend the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and mango lassi. Christopher is amazing! He is always so helpful, friendly, and kind whenever we’re there. Definitely check this place out if you love Indian food.“
“Jagdish and Vishala, owners of the restaurant (excuse the spelling) are very friendly. The service was fast and great, food was amazing as always (we got Gobi Manchurian Dosa and Spinach Masala Dosa this time). Only feedback would be the spice level could be more in the potato filling of the dosa. Chai at the restaurant or on the go is perfect too. I recommend anyone in the mood for yummy vegetarian Indian food to visit.“
“Actually looked for a good indian restaurant near macys and so happy we dined here. It definitely was very delicious and the owner helped us with our orders. We loved our appetizer that he suggested and when we commented on how good it was, he brought us another. Butter chicken was great along with garlic naan. Can't wait for the next time we can visit again. Iris and emilyVegetarian options: Serves lots of veggie choice including the use of delicious pomegranates“
“Hands down best dosa, idli, vada, chutney, upma, pongal, mysore pak, and madras coffee. You can do Abhishek in Ganesh temple upstairs on a full stomach. Very satisfying and may improve your karma! Just not on a weekend though when it's crazy packed.“
“Win Win Win! Finding this place was a win, we now have our official go-to Indian restaurant. They did everything right, the atmosphere is one of a simple, authentic Indian restaurant on the lower east side. As soon as you walk in you smell the amazing aromas, the place was packed, and they were very attentive to us. We placed and order and EVERYTHING tasted amazing. The naan was so so so good, but really everything was. The service was really personal and friendly. We had a great time, we ate and drank well we left happy. Give this place a shot.“
“Came in around 12:30 on a Sunday. Got seated right away and wasn't really packed. They have a variety of buffet dishes both veg and non veg. Everything was cooked and was hot .When they brought out the naan, it was cooked fresh to order. Service was excellent. A lot of the dishes were less seasoned and spicy as is in a normal Indian cuisine, but they do that to cater to the population in that area that can't handle spices. No disrespect but y'all can't handle spices. Samosas were fire and they had the chutneys to go with them too. Overall with tax and tip it was around $20 per person. Metered parking outside is decent and there's plenty around the area as well. After covid, this spot is good for what they have. Definitely don't miss out on the kheer desert at the end.Parking: Accross the street metered parking.“
