As one would expect of a good steakhouse, the meal was pricy, but delicious. The dimly lit upper room has a good daytime view of Van Cortlandt Park.Parking: They have on the street valet parking, so I assume there is ample room for most of the guests.

Incredible meal, awesome service, and great old school ambience. If you want steak in NYC, make this your go-to place. Go hungry because there will be a lot of awesome food. This is my new favorite restaurant.

I have been going here for years and always had a great experience but I went last night and there were two new young ladies sitting at the door. They didn't even say hi when we walked in, which was unusual, we are usually greeted with smiles and super helpful hosts. I told them I did not have a reservation and asked if we would be able to be seated with no response, just a blank stare and they just looked at the computer and then walked me and my husband upstairs. She sat me a a table back to back with another couple, so we asked if we could sit two tables over, she kind of rolled her eyes and walked us there. Afterward, there were 3 men dining, one of which seemed to have way too much to drink and was being very obnoxious, rude and loud. Not sure if the waitress knew them? but he was dancing with the waitress, calling her sweetheart etc. She was very nice to them despite this but no one seemed to be coming to her rescue to try to help the situation. It seemed very inappropriate and unless she knew them I felt as though there should of been a manager or male waiter attending this group especially since it was very obvious they had too much to drink. Service and waitress was great and cocktails are always good, but I didn't really enjoy myself given the above.

My Boyfriend and I went here recently and we noticed that all the colored folks were seated all against the wall, that was very weird. Also the server took a while to take our order but as soon as the people next to us was seated he attended to them in a fly. Then a lady who was changing the table covering went over to the table that was just seated and asked them if everything is okay and never asked me nor my boyfriend. Overall the experience was okay the steak was good I wish they had more sauce option and the Mac and cheese was lovely as well.

Only great things to say about Jake's in East Meadow. Went here for restaurant week (around $47/person) and left there stuffed and with leftovers. Sunday night was quiet but the experience was not lacking in any way - our server James did a phenomenal job of being professional and was very accomodating and communicative about our allergy concerns - which made us feel very safe to enjoy the meal.Cocktails were great with good size, apps were delicious and light, and the entrees were made to perfection. Filet was cooked perfectly. Never have had cream of spinach but now I am a big fan! All in all a great experience here. Big Kudos to James.Dietary restrictions: Jake's was very accommodating and communicative about our requests and allergies for cheese and nuts. Made us feel very safe to enjoy our meal here.

I thought Jake's was a bit more fancy but to my surprise and enjoyment it was rather casual. Though casual the food was phenomenal along with the attentive and polite staff. I will be back in the future. Compliments to the chef preparing my steak to the exact temperature!
