This gem of a restaurant has earned its place as my all-time favorite Mexican spot in NYC. Not only does it serve up some of the most delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine I've had the pleasure of tasting, but it also pairs this culinary excellence with truly outstanding service. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between welcoming familiarity and a lively, fun atmosphere that's hard to find elsewhere. Whether you're here for the exceptional food, the top-notch service, or to indulge in what might just be the perfect Margarita, its location near Van Cortlandt Park adds an extra layer of appeal. This is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the best of Mexican dining in the city.

I ate lunch here at the beginning of march and my experience was less than satisfactory. I ordered the Rubin sandwich and it was totally inedible. The corn beef had a lot of brown on it, the sandwich was soggy and taste was poor. I told the waiter and he sent over the manager who was not apologetic, and I questioned why the corn beef was grilled. He said "we don't grill the corn beef" and I said then why is it brown???? He had no answer and took it back to speak to the chef.... He never came back to our table, took $10 off the bill when the item was $16, and left it at that!!! Very poor management and even poorer food. Stay away ..... this place misses by a mile!!!

Stumbled on this 20-year-old local restaurant when visiting Van Cortlandt Park. Worth coming back for.

Disappointed. As a regular customer everything usually is great. Tonight everything was room temperature. Not even warm.Had to send my dinner back to be heated. Not reheated. Heated. As a chef you have to wonder why the holding temperatures of the rice and beans is not hot. The server offered no apology. They claim to have an A rating.I wonder about that!Guys please do better.
