George's is one of the survivors in a world, unfortunately becoming devoid of that classic diner. Not fancy, reasonably priced, and having great food and service, George's is reminiscent of the classic great-spoon diner. Have eaten here three times and it is a totally solid place. Good burger, breakfast (got the Greek Omelet), salads, and calamari. The meatloaf is ok but not outstanding. Also, the service is incredibly good. Friendly, fast, and thoughtful.The only reasons I docked it a star are 1. it is on the expensive side for diner food; 2. I like Pablo's on Newkirk Plaza better for breakfast.Still a really good place to go and neighborhood institution.

I have been coming here for three years. The owners create a warm friendly environment. They have a solid breakfast, crispy, tasty bacon, limitless coffee and good home fries.I usually get an omelet, English muffin or bagel with sweet potato fries and a side of avocado.
