“This place has the most wonderful atmosphere and is truly one of the best Mexican restaurants that we have ever tried! Our server, John, was incredible and made so many great recommendations that made our meal that much more amazing! Highly recommend if you are in the area.“
“Jonnie was our server and amazing! I got 2 tacos and an empanada. The flavors are all outstanding and the seafood is very fresh. They also have homemade salsas which are unique and pack a punch. Definitely a place to come to whether or not you’re “
“A fantastic Mexican/seafood fusion spot!We came here for my husband’s birthday and everything we ordered was divine. We started off with the salsas (you’re going to want to love spicy food if you order this) and got 2 aguachiles (both superb), shrimp tacos (I could have eaten 5 of these), and the whole fish (perfectly cooked, so flavorful and tender). Will definitely be returning soon!Vegetarian options: It’s a heavily seafood based menu so not sure I would recommend for strict vegetarians“
“My all time favorite taco place in the city. Los Tacos No.1 was my favorite until I tried this place. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their tacos but their pastor is my favorite. Whenever I am in BK, I will always make a stop here. Also try Tako Sando and Mallard Drake (al pastor hamburger) which is right down the “
“Had an amazing first experience here today - absolutely delicious steaks & tacos. The atmosphere was great - super comfy booths and stools, great lighting, excellent music - and the staff was so kind. A gem in Sunset!Kid-friendliness: Good atmosphere for kids, no kids menu but varied foods for everyone. They brought spill-proof drinks for the kids.“
“This was the best Mexican I've had in Park Slope. I had the chicken and my girlfriend had the steak. Both meals were delicious, but I'd say the chicken was the best chicken I've had in years, hands down. Juicy with crispy skin and delicious sauce. The service was slow (took 40+ minutes to receive our food after ordering), but that's probably because we didn't get drinks or apps. Both looked great, but not for us. The vibe is a little loud, but great decor with very pleasant energy. Looking forward to bringing my parents here when they visit next time.“
“fantastic spot!!!! as a mexican is always a pleasure to find a legit mex place! with great food and kind people! we went for dinner, beto and the crew were amazing! we had flautas, tetela, quesadilla and a sope and everything was amazing!!! we also had a concha as a dessert and drinks and mezcal, we will be back for brunch! ?❤️? thanks crew for taking us to our georgeous ??“
“I had got 2 bowls and 2 nachos bags with queso sauce for a responsibly price and the workers was very fast and polite . and not to Exaggerate I almost cried the way the food was so good I totally recommend everyone to come to this this spot !!!“
“Great vegan cuisine--their three dips are amazing, especially their cheese.Loved the two cocktails I ordered, and given their extensive Mezcal list, I know I'll be back for more. Wonderful service, servers and manager were so kind and accommodating! And don't forget to order dessert.Dietary restrictions: Our server asked right away as we ordered, if we had any allergies.“
“I love this place. My partner and I have been here many times. The food is reliably very good. Some dishes can be a miss, but many are hits and when they hit, they really hit. The chips and guacamole and the salsas are standout-good. Last time we ordered the wings, a salad, and a shrimp dish and they were all excellent. In the past there was a skirt steak quesadilla-like thing that was one of the best things I've ever eaten - I wish they'd bring it back. Their salsa macha is excellent. Veggies and salads are often a highlight. Also, nearly everything is gluten-free. I have celiac disease and it is so nice to go somewhere where pretty much everything on the menu is safe for me to eat!On top of that, the ambience is lovely. It's a really pretty space and just pleasant to be in. I'd probably come here just for the ambience even if the food was mediocre. The staff are also lovely. The last time we ate here it had been 4-5 months since our last visit and they remembered who we were and even what we ordered last time! This was the final push I needed to write a review.Dietary restrictions: Excellent gluten-free options. Restaurant is celiac friendly. Usually the whole menu is gluten free.“
“A new favorite. Food is stellar- get the steak and dip it in the potato sauce (thank me later). Immaculate service- kind, lovely people. Small spot but great vibes. Perfect for a date night or special occasion. Oh and get the flan and for dessert!“
“They are always packed which is good but not when it gets too crowded which is often expect to wait about 30-45 min for your food however their food is decent. I had a chicken quesadilla and the chicken was dry. i tried it again but this time birria and it was much better but once you get to the center its dry overall their decent and good for cravings and btw there is no parking!!!!“
“What a great find! This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is authentic Mexican and the cocktails are so fresh! Alex, the manager, made sure I was comfortable. All the staff is very welcoming. Get yourself a cocktail and order family style so you can try a bit of everything.“
“My friends and I ordered a burrito, enchiladas, torta, and guac. Everyone was very satisfied. The food is delicious, portions are sizeable, and price is reasonable. The vibe of the place is quiet nice and cozy. The service was great, everyone was very hospitable; I split my water all across the floor and the server was very understanding and kind. I really liked the salsa and salsa verde. Oh and the cherry on top was a dose of nostalgia with the chicklets we got at the end, hadn't seen those in their little cardboard box in years!“
“This place is a gem! Located in one of my favorite areas to visit in greenpoint. Panzons atmosphere is amazing even on a rainy day. I had to opportunity to try the new brunch menu. What a treat! Do not skip the Chilaquiles, so much flavor. The pollo torta was unique and tasty. Make sure you get the tres leches French toast for the table. Can’t wait to come back to try the tuna tostada and ceviche!“
“Now, I come here for the vibes and drinks. I love their margaritas. I would suggest getting a handmade margarita because it is superior to the others. Now, to the food because if you are going to drink, well, you will eat. The best thing to order when sharing is the Plato Don. If I am stopping in for a drink, I have the Guacamole. The only thing that I am not a fan of is the greasy tortillas. When the place is busy, the service is average, you get your food quickly, and you have to wait a bit before your waiter checks in to see how things are going.“
“We’ve come here a few times, and it gets better with every visit! The pickle pear margarita was outstanding and everything we ordered (guacamole, scallops, and rib eye) were all excellent. Our server, Chris, was super attentive and very helpful with the menu — just overall a fantastic dinner and experience. Looking forward to coming back soon!“
“Happened upon this restaurant with friends, and what a great find it was! Food was very good. I had the Enchiladas with their special Mole sauce. Excellent. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. This will now be on my list of favorite restaurants to visit and recommend.“
“Ordered the paella, the grilled gambas special, and the lamb shank. All very good, expertly done, with touches that elevated the cuisine. Sauces and mole very good, taken seriously, obviously made with care in-house. Worth a trip, but since I live a few blocks away, it’s no burden at all. The pistachio tres leches cake also a winner. Service prompt and professional, and very warm too! Highly recommend.“
“My wife and I came here for lunch this past Saturday and we loved it. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. We got a few tacos, a quesadilla, birria, a torta and a tequila flight, We also had a custard type dessert with a coffee based dessert cocktail. We sat at the bar and had a blast. The bartender was super friendly and informative on anything we had questions about. Watching him craft the cocktails was an experience in itself. We will definitely be back.“
“This restaurant was absolutely incredible. It started when our waiter, Edison, from Ecuador greeted us and we had a very nice conversation with him, about his life, family and time in NYC. We started with Guacamole and chips. It was absolutely yummy. When our daughter arrived, we all ordered Shrimp tacos, which were delicious. Edison introduced me to the owner, Petru, from Moldavia, as I am a Google map contributer. What a very nice man, he came to our table and we talked for about 45 minutes. As a result, we were given free churros, so tasty, free shots(mine non-alcoholic) and my husband and daughter, free Drinks ,called Palomas. This Bar/restaurant is the foremost tequila/mescal place in Brooklyn! The bartender, Uriel was a really sweet man, also. This beautiful place will be one of our places to visit, when we are in Brooklyn!“
“we decided to give a chance to this halal Taco and gyro, and we are glad we did. We ordered 4 beef tacos and a side of seasoned fries. We all agree these tacos are better then Taco bell hands down. The beef was deliciously seasoned with a generous amount of topping and reasonably priced. The fries were a large portion and very well seasoned and perfect amount of salt. I suggest ordering a side of cheese dipping sauce it would pair beautifully, we'll get that next time. The menu has a lot to offer, we are excited to try other items and we'll be back soon!“
“I had been wanting to come here for months after passing it every day and finally stopped by. It was incredible! We had their enchiladas and flautas and rice and beans. They tasted so authentic and homey like what our family cooks (but slightly more elevated). The special on the night that we went was a tamal oaxaqueño and it tasted exactly like the ones my partner and I have had in Mexico. I’ve been here a few times now, both for dine-in and takeout, and it’s a new favorite of mine.“
“Solid Mexican food. For apps, we got the fried goat cheese with honey (standout), chips and guacamole (bad value) and the slow cooked pork app (very tasty). I got the divorced enchiladas for my entree and it was terrific. The horchata mezcal drink was interesting but just not a good combo imo. Will come back and try something else.“
“¡K Rico! This was my second time coming here with my friend, who's a regular, I had the squash blossom enchiladas, ¡vegano!, I'm a vegan, they were so good. The squash blossom enchiladas were hitting! I was practically doing the yummy food dance in my chair from all the textures, unctuousness and umami it was delivering in such a delicate humble dish with it's thick wholesome sauce. We shared the chips and guac, I asked for salt, knowing from the time before that all the flavors are there, it just needs some salt, for me, to make them shine. Obviously you rather it be under salted then over, got to watch my pressure. The chips are always fresh and what you expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. To drink the waitress recommended the spicy passion fruit margarita and it was so deliciously well-balanced with sweet, spicy and tart, that I made my friend try it and she agreed. Tía behind the bar is a Queen mixologist. The energy here is grounding, the set up is simple allowing the experience to shine. Everyone working there seems to be from Latin American, it does feel like a home kitchen restaurant. As opposed to other "authentic Mexican" places you may go in NYC where the staff are cold hipsters, the owners are wealthy investors and the chef is Indian. There's actual Mexican people chilling here. The food doesn't always come out fast, so go with people you like; don't kill the vibe. The first time I dinned here, I got the nopales tacos. They were good, I just don't think I appreciated it as much, because a month before that I had nopales tacos grilled over fire along with spring onion, topped with fresh salsas, with the grilled tortilla in the backyard of my Mexican friend's bike shop for his birthday. With a michelada! Nothing is really going to top that nopales experience. But I do recommend the nopales tacos here, I know it's hard to get that outside fire grill on food in New York indoor dining, but that flavors were good and the texture was right. If you've made it to the end of this review, congratulations, you're probably very hungry and you should just go eat at Martha's concina.Vegetarian options: I'm vegan and I was able to enjoy different plates on the separate occasions I went. Vegan dishes are clearly marked and the wait staff is knowledgeable. The Vegan/veg options are well orchestrated full meals, made from natural whole foods with developed flavors.“
“Taqueria Al Pastor delivers an exceptional dining experience with their excellent tacos! I recently tried their chicken and fish tacos, and they were bursting with flavor. The freshness of their handmade tortillas truly elevated the meal. Moreover, their customer service is top-notch, making the overall experience delightful. Every bite was a testament to their dedication to quality and taste. Absolutely delicious!“
“The food here was AMAZING! And the atmosphere is great. Overall a wonderful place for a bite to eat! We had the Hawaiian torta and the birria burrito and both were absolutely amazing and super filling!!! Plus they had a bunch of Mexican snacks/drinks and it looks like they also have Mexican ice cream. I’m definitely coming back !“
“We came here for my mom’s birthday. I’m writing this before we even leave because it’s JUST that well deserved. It was completely empty save one group of people, so the reservation was not needed. I imagine that in the next couple weeks this place will get so busy you’ll be lucky to get in within a year!!!! The music that they play is great. Perfect immaculate vibes. The food was unbelievable. We started with the mild guacamole and my family actually went feral. I had the tacos de Birria and let me tell you. I had a love affair. It was the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. There will never be anything like it. I would bathe in the sauce if they let me. Then we got dessert. Unreal. Absolutely divine. Heaven on a plate. We got one of each and the churros actually have given me more pleasure than any of my exes. Bless this place. I will be back.“
“Julia is the best! She gifted us a beautiful not pecan pie pecan slice. The tacos are delicious. The drink options are fun, happy hour is a great deal. Atmosphere is fun and laid back. Many options to take in the view. They treated us so well here.“
“Amazing authentic Mexican spot. Unbelievable fresh made guacamole. We had the elote, birria tacos, and shrimp tacos. Everything was served fresh and came out very quickly. Great staff and the bartender made a mean spicy mezcal margarita. Highly recommended! Will definitely return.“
“Amazing food overall, everything is great on the menu, the service is outstanding, completely professional. Love the new burrito cover in bacon, the soups are to die for, all tacos are delicious. Best taco spot in Brooklyn, a must try.Kid-friendliness: The absolute best service, very humble, and dedicated to seving the best food in Brooklyn, I give it 10 STARS ⭐️“
“Everything here was amazing, food was great buuuuuutttttt is pricy for what it is. Plus no service. This is definitely a to go spot a great one btw. Carnitas were fresh the churros were amazing, if it was a little cheaper we would be there every day.“
“This truck hasn't failed me yet. Anytime I visit my mother in sunset park, I make sure to stop and pick up food too bring home. The birria consome is delish. The tacos are great quality, flavored, and full of meat. They don't skimp on the rations. Best part I can phone my order in and pickup so it reduces the wait time. Definitely must try if you are in the neighborhood.“
“The food here is delicious, however the place isn’t that big. A few stools to sit by the window, and in good weather they put chairs and tables outside. I ordered a California burrito and Burria tacos. Both taste amazing. My birria tacos came with the this dipping sauce ( like a beef stew type of sauce) so good. Next time I go I want to try the birria pizza which looks amazing and also their nachos. Def recommend if you’re in the area. Good tasting food. They also sell icies. All types of flavors, coco, arroz con leche, Oreo, etc.“
“This is my favorite Mexican place in all of Brooklyn. Such love and care in all of the food. Good but lowkey music, cool art, lots of space. The service is amazing. Also everything is gluten free and nut free so great for allergies. So many vegan and vegetarian options. The meat they do serve is selective and delicious. Super accommodating. I really love this place. Would definitely have my birthday here or something, or even a small engagement party. Really can’t give enough love to this spot. It’s one of my happy place restaurants.Vegetarian options: For sure can eat here as a veg. Menu is 90% veg.Dietary restrictions: I have celiac and I always am safe eating here!Kid-friendliness: I’ve brought kids here a lot! They’re great with kids here. But still more of a vibey adult energy.“
“Excellent tacos. ? This is a usual spot for us and it never disappoints here. The large tacos have guacamole in it and it also comes with an entire grilled green onion. Now, I hate onions. But I have no clue why I’m able to eat it here with the tacos… it’s that good. Opt for the large tacos. The regular size is fine but for just a dollar more you get more bang for the buck, literally. Very low key establishment. It isn’t festive. I don’t believe they serve alcohol either. But the tacos are amazing. And amazingly affordable! As always, better to eat fresh and dine in. Order the Tacos… when the restaurant’s name begins with Tacos, you better order the Tacos ?!!! ????“
“absolutely amazing!!! great local spot to visit in bay ridge. such a warm and welcoming environment, although the space was small the vibes were not haha. the staff was very welcoming and friendly and stopped by often to refill water or ask if we were in need of anything :) highly recommend because the food was AMAZING!!!“
“Was the perfect plan for Christmas Eve. The cocktails was amazing, the services was amazing, Alex was really nice!! We can see that they take care of every little detail in the food and drinks presentation and it was absolutely good, the music, the environment- Just perfect. I really don’t understand the reviews that says the opposite this place is 1000“
“This is it. This is the place you've been trying to eat at but didn't know! The place smells incredible. The food is beyond fresh and the people working here are the sweetest kindest and most incredible team.I didn't know what to order and I didn't have glasses on so I couldn't quite make out the menu.No problem! I just said what I kind of wanted and BOOM they made magic for my mouth.I wish I could give it 6 stars. I'm beyond impressed.“
“Really good Mexican food with large portions is served here. There are also breakfast specials, including omelettes, pancakes and Mexican style french toast served with bacon or sausages. The many cocktail choices are well prepared. I love their margaritas. A wide variety of wine and beer is also available. The staff is very friendly and the decor is very relaxing, with booths and tables. This is one of the best restaurants in Bensonhurst!“
“the soft drink is very tasty. what I felt liquid in my mouth today was absolutely stunning. it has a unique flavor that I have not experienced in my quiet life so far. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful and charming Mexican wonder to everyone, yes even to you.“
“Where to start? The food was great, the horchata was amazing, and we were served by a very kind and helpful waitress. The food was amazing, just perfect. I don’t think it would be fair to write a review for I Love Guacamole without mentioning their superb guac. Delicious. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was nice, fun decorations and some seasonal decor (Thanksgiving, this part of the year) All in all, I enjoyed this restaurant, my family enjoyed this restaurant, and I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who likes Mexican food. 5 outta 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“The current tasting menu they’re offering is A MUST. It is some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. And each course is a really good portion size, I was completely full by the end of it! And the service is amazing as well, Alex is so kind and genuinely passionate about ehe food they serve at de mole. I am telling everyone I know about this amazing tasting menu and highly encourage you to try it!!“
“What can I complain about this restaurant? My personally favorite thing to eat here looks like none of them. My husband loves here because they have steak and eggs for breakfast. I'm in other hand. I already tried grilled fish, ceviche shrimp or other dishes. None is my cup of tea, honestly. Today I order Nopal Asado; it is grilled cactus top with Oaxacan cheese and rajas con crema. I kind of like it. I know now what should I order when I come to this Maxican place. Limitation of food I like but I can make it works.“
“Went to Gordo's, got the mole negro, asada tacos and chorizo quesadilla with several drinks and had a great time. The chorizo quesadilla was by-far the fav out of what my friend and I ordered. Their quesadillas are served open-faced, featuring seared cheese and meat and are definitely the most unique, expressive item they have on the menu. The chorizo is well-seasoned and charred to perfection. Will strongly rec this to anyone wanting to know what's worth their time and money on the menu. The mole negro was also good. The sauce is the star of the show; it's flavorful, rich and generously applied to the chicken enchiladas. The tortillas and chicken on their own are mild but that's okay because they're a canvas for this absolutely fire mole sauce. Would also recommend this. The asada tacos are good but I wouldn't get them again. They felt pretty standard; like something I could get from a birria taco truck for a lil bit less but hey, you're also paying for vibes and service.Speaking of, our server was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. All of her recommendations delivered.Drinks were strong. Wished I skipped the michelada my first round and went straight for the margaritas, which had a generous pour.Check it out. Def worth the visit.“
“Decent halal food here with good portion sizes. The halal itself was older meat and bit more expensive than normal, but the pita bread was pretty well done. The Gyro was mainly lettuce too. Still a good spot for Halal though and there are many different options. The lamb could be better though, felt like it was warmed up in a microwave, but we did eat it at 3PM so ti could have just been some leftovers.“
“We love Campos Grill. The food is delicious and a great value. Great local business that we are happy to support. The restaurant has a dedicated delivery driver and food comes exactly when indicated (or faster!). One time I accidentally typed in the wrong last digit of our address which sent him a block in the wrong direction. He called and made sure to find us—handled so well.“
“This place is super bueno. I recommend the tacos, sopes con carne, tortas, and of course the chips and guac. Their food is made with love! Very good burrito. Order was on time. I also had the mole de callo soup, it was good but i need to try the pozole.“
“The daily lunch specials are such an amazing value, I thought the quality would suffer because the prices are so reasonable and that’s impossible to find these days! The Rice Bowl/Burrito Wrap is only like $10.75 and the burritos are minimum 5lbs. Ordering is easy and they offer free delivery. I just moved to this area and this is the best food that I have found in the area so far. I have introduced my friends to it and they agree with me; the authentic and delicious food with fresh ingredients, wonderful staff who always greet you with a huge smile. Do yourself a favor and try this place because it is absolutely amazing!“
“Truly the best Mexican food I’ve had in the city so far. I didn’t know what to expect but the meats and flavor profiles were so developed. We had the tacos, bone marrow, Short rib, bass entree, scallops appetizer, and the rice pudding. Meat was juicy and smoked. Scallops were the softest most pure flavor I’ve had in a while and the spice completely opened up my palate. The bass with its accompanied salad was extremely intricate and well thought out to connect the two. Highly HIGHLY recommend Claro. Definitely coming back to explore the mezcal side of the menu.“
