“I think this place is great. Especially for a date night too. The Temaki they serve is great for a 2 bite situation, making it really easy to share between 2… if that’s your thing. To be honest, coming here and getting the classic & signature is just as $ as getting delivery sushi, maybe a bit more expensive but it’s worth it. High quality ingredients & thought out flavors.Personal favorite temaki is the XO scallop. The whole entire restaurant is gluten free by the way, so that might win a lot of people over. The interior & vibe is definitely for a certain demographic and will become aged out within maybe a year or two. The interior is on the same note of that Tend instagram dentist place, and that’s not a compliment. The music they play reminds me of what they would play at like a retail store.Dietary restrictions: The entire restaurant is gluten free & can help gluten intolerance with their meal.“
“Pros: Good food! After a few visits we tried all of the small plates and rolls on the menu and everything was delicious. Fun cocktails. Cozy and comfortable. (Try to get seated on the perimeter of the space, the tables in the center of the room can feel a little claustrophobic.) Fairly priced. Cons: Uneven service. On two separate visits, the server forgot my drink. The server on our last visit was downright surly; she really seemed like she did not want to be there at all and spent most of the evening ignoring us. And, also during our last visit, we almost turned around and left because it looked like the place was closed. It was dusk, all the lights and signage were turned off, tables and chairs were stacked out front and a large pile of cardboard recycling was waiting to be picked up. I only saw that there were lights and people in the back of the space when I was out front.“
“Love this place! The sushi is so fresh and tasty. And reasonably priced. Free green tea pudding with Yelp check in! The pudding is topped with a spoonful of sweetened red beans. A delicious dessert! My favorite is salmon and here, it's melt in your mouth fresh and yummy. My favorite dish here is the Salmon Lover. It's salmon four ways plus a side of kani salad with some roe on top. Thick generous portions of sashimi, also has sushi, salmon avocado roll, and a grilled salmon collar (when available, otherwise you get 2 pieces of salmon belly). This place is so good, in one week, I went 3 times and still not tired of it. Not crazy about the chicken kaarage. The pieces are too small so when fried, it becomes dry and loses its juicy tenderness. Tried some skewers. A tad on the dry side. I'd stick with the sushi. Though the skewers were very popular with the kids at the table. Service. Attentive. Tea constantly being refilled. Decor. It's a small place. Lots of wood decor. The space is narrow with seating to the left and right. In front, a few private mini booth rooms covered with a curtain, line the side of the restaurant. These can seat up to 4 people. There is also a small party room downstairs. In the back, you can sit in front of the sushi chefs if you like, at a high counter.“
“If you are in south Brooklyn and in the mood for high-end sushi, and I mean Michelin quality sushi, you could ditch a ride to the city and go to this place. I was amazed by the exquisite taste and creativity of their sushi. And for this quality the price was not bad. We had an 18-piece course for $125, and it was worth every single penny. The place is very small, so prior reservation is a must“
“Absolutely my favorite place for sushi. When you order the omakase you aren't just served different cuts of fish you may be familiar with like bluefin tuna but rather get a series of carefully crafted pieces combining flavors you'd never expect. Whenever friends visit New York, I always suggest Sushi “
“I have been here for both dinner and lunch. I prefer the dinner menu over their lunch menu because of the bigger portions and wider variety, but the dinner menu is available at lunch as well. For dinner, my partner got the braised short rib which he was very pleased with. I got the set of four hand rolls which all tasted fresh and delicious. The hand rolls are more like open sushi tacos. There was a lot of filling so I ended up being fuller than I expected. For lunch, we had the lunch bento set which included a small portion of an entrée, a miso soup or salad, and a hand roll of your choice for about $25 depending on your entree. The teriyaki is on the milder side. Overall, I am happy to have this little gem in Brooklyn. Besides the good food, service has always been exceptional too.“
“Good vibe. Good sushi. Ordered crispy rice and edamame to start. Latter was just ok. Crispy rice wasn't what we expected but still good--a rice type cracker with heap of topping. For mains we got chirashi and sashimi deluxe The salmon was excellent as was one of the white fish. Other fish was ok but not mind blowing. Had the mushroom soup instead of miso and it had a stronger taste than I expected and killer hot. Beware of that. Unfiltered sake choice was good and sweet little sake glasses. We'll come back for sure with a revised order.“
“I'm a picky eater and was very nervous about eating at U Omakase. I was truly satisfied with everything. I believe that every course was better than the one before it. The staff was great! They gave every detail about each dish and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend it. For those nervous, "picky eaters" out there, just go and take in all the flavors and enjoy. Thank you to U Omakase for such a fun night.“
“Our meal at IWAK was good enough to call it a Williamsburg gem after one try. Great rolls, pork buns, and sake. The service and atmosphere felt more reminiscent of Japan than a number of other sushi spots.Excited to have a new sushi favorite nearby!“
“Good omakase place. Shari preparation is above average, good amount of rice, good temp, good tightness and vinegar combinations. Very few choices of hikarimono here, and Aji was just ok. Since I am a pure edomae enthusiast, an offering of Wagyu sushi (an extra price, of course i did not order bz it is not a pure edomae tradition) was disappointment to me since smoke smelling of wagyu beef spread all over the sushi bar. Services were excellent and a very nice, spacious atmosphere inside. I may try this place again for the second time. Overall reasonable to good omakase sushi.“
“Cocktail is great and I recommend the ones with matcha. Seafood is fresh and well done with the combination and flavor. However their hot dishes are ok, such as the tempura rice, grilled soft crab. Wish their hot dishes are as good as other ones!“
“This seafood market is like the hidden gem of Park Slope, Brooklyn. The sushi here is delicious, fresh, and savory! It's also better priced than the restaurants, and whole foods sushi so you can't beat that!Pisces Fish Market also has a large variety of fresh seafood you can purchase to cook at home. They have all kind of seasonings for sale as well (local and imported options). The owner David is very sweet! He always greets me when I am walking in the neighborhood, and loves small talk.I definitely recommend this spot for your seafood needs.“
“Giving it a 4 stars because the effort and intent was there, but the Miso ramen was unfortunately too rich for my tastes and I couldn't finish the broth, although the wavy noodles were perfect, very Q. The Karaage was some of the best I've ever had - it came out quickly and straight out of the fryer and it was melting in my mouth. One waitress was working the whole restaurant and was doing a fantastic job. 5 star service for sure.“
“The food is soooo good here especially considering the price❤️ When I booked it I don’t know how much is it but ppl said it’s definitely fair price. And it definitely is!!!! Anyway, the photos I put here are all the items included in the 68 set :D (I had ordered extra but not included in the photos)Chef peter Chen also very nice~“
“The experience at this sushi restaurant was truly exceptional! Sylvia, our waitress, played a crucial role in making it so. Not only was the sushi of the highest quality, but Sylvia's attentiveness and knowledge added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. Her warm demeanor made us feel welcome and valued throughout the evening. A dining experience elevated by both exquisit food and outstanding service.“
“I did like this place. The interior has a cool, almost grungy feel to it which I loved. I will say the fish wasn’t as fresh as other sushi restaurants I have been to in New York and although the sushi was well made there were some dishes that felt like they had been rushed. The edamame for example tasted soft, microwaved. However, the price was so reasonable that I could forgive some of small criticisms. The whole experience was really enjoyable and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.“
“OOPS TEA IS THE BEST IN BUSHWICK!!!!! staff is so friendly, attentive, and overall amazing! the tofu pockets are UNREAL and you can tell they’re made with love <3 not to mention the bubble tea is so amazing and refreshing. also the ambience and decorations are SO cute. definitely recommend! ?????“
“This is our go-to fancy sushi spot. The quality and inventiveness of their dishes is amazing. Everything is absolutely delicious and so fresh! It’s pricy but worth it. Certain dishes are absolutely decadent and the stuff of dreams! My hubby says it’s the best sushi he’s had in the states since visiting Japan, so that’s saying something!!“
“Whoever said this place is a hidden gem was right. I went early to avoid the happy hour rush. That said you get a discount from 4-7pm so if you’re not picky on seating that’s when I recommend paying a visit. Attached is the photos of what I ordered.“
“The food was very fresh delicious and served with wonderful presentation. All the raw sushi/sashimi tasted fresh. I liked that the bbq squid was tender and not tough like other places I've tried. My family came here to celebrate my brother's birthday and it was a nice, quiet place on a weekday night. Thank you for the complimentary butterfly sushi dish and dessert!“
“Hubby had his first and best omakase experience. We went for our 24th anniversary celebration. At first, before the omakase begins, hubby was like “I only like salmon because of its buttery taste. I don’t like any other fish” and then next thing I hear was “omg, this fish so good”; “omg, this fish is also yummy”; “oh this fish is so fresh and tasty” ? ? I laughed at him and asked if he still likes salmon ONLY. He says no. Yay! Mission accomplished!!“
“We ordered a couple of platters (and more!) for a small family party. The food was delivered on time and was absolutely delicious. David is a pleasure to work with and really aims to please his customers. One of our family members has a sesame allergy and he went above and beyond to ensure that the food was sesame free!“
“My four stars are not meant to be a negative as to food quality or taste. One negative was the food that came out in a disjointed order. I don't remember the specifics. I just remember that I was puzzled. A second and more important negative is that the drinks are small yet expensive. I utilized the bakyard space to dine, and even on a cold night, it was comfortable. The host and server were pleasant and welcoming. I would definitely eat there again, without question, but not buy any drinks ?. Enjoy!“
“the staff are great but i love the sushi quality at their Soho location and thought it d be the same. it is not. maybe because the soho location chefs are more experienced? not sure but overall not bad. i just prefer to travel to Soho and get the best suhsi deal in NYC with extremely high quality.“
“Junsui Omakase located 65 Jay St, Dumbo Brooklyn, NY 11201 - easy to find parking nearby or access public transportation!Amazing omakase experience with menu options include 14-course for $125 or $150 for 17-course. Immerse myself in the artistic ambiance of an intimate sushi bar, where the sushi chef presents each course with details in a very clean environment. Friendly staff often offer drinks on the house, an unforgettable dinner experience that you must try!!They are BYOB! - Bring along a bottle to personalize the party's experience while savoring their unparalleled cuisine.“
“The story on the cover of the menu states that the owners were importing tuna from Indonesia then trade of tuna to the US was halted, but the couple retains special and unique permission from the governments to still import tuna for this restaurant. I had the tuna. It was average quality and affordable. From this point forward I’m not going to believe anything written down on anything anywhere“
“Excellent little sushi spot. Great atmosphere, portions are generous and food tastes amazing. Nice little get together spot I went with some friends. We were all pleased with our meals. Fantastic service. Would definitely go to again next time I'm in the area. Totally see this palace as a great date night or group gathering spot.Vegetarian options: They have veggie friendly rolls and entre options.Dietary restrictions: If you tell them they'll work with you and make recommendations based on what you can and can't eat.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to front door.“
“This place I have gone to twice, and never disappoints. By far my favorite Japanese restaurant. My favorites are the Oyako Don, Onigiri (all of them), and Chicken Katsu Don. Can’t wait to come back!!Parking: Very hard to park so I did carry out.“
“This is by far not your typical sushi joint!! This is an experience of flavors presented in the most artistic form using the highest quality of products that shocks your palate and sends it on a mouthwatering trip of a lifetime! Yes it expensive, but completely worth every penny. Will definitely recommend to anyone who appreciates food in its finest form!!“
“This is the best poke I've had living in NYC for 10 years. I absolutely love the quality of the fish and the toppings. Have been eating their bowls for over a year -- at one point multiple times a week and they are very consistent. They have an excellent and unique beverage selection. The staff is extremely friendly and kind -- with the decorative flower being a nice touch.I had one occasion where GrubHub made a mistake and the owner of Poke Tiky Bar made it right (no questions asked), which is above-and-beyond in my opinion. There is limited indoor seating, but the restaurant is well decorated and in an ideal location. Plenty of outdoor seating for the warmer months. I could not recommend this place more. The best! 10/10“
“We went here for my wife's birthday lunch and it was impressive. Firstly, it's hard to find restaurants that are stroller friendly in the city, but this place might be the most stroller friendly one in Park Slope. The tables were far apart and could easily accommodate our Vista stroller which isn't a small stroller. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was as good as I remember but the real standout was their lunch special. Unbelievable value of 10 exceptional pieces with the Toro and Salmon with dill sauce being my favorites. The staff here are so nice as always. I look forward to coming back here.Kid-friendliness: The most stroller and wheelchair friendly restaurant I've been to in Park Slope. There's a lot of space between the tables and more than enough space to accommodate everyone's needs.“
“Throughout my five years of visiting, Taiki has been very consistent at having top quality fish, excellent dishes, great cocktail and sake selection, and perfect service. The atmosphere is very cozy and everyone, including chef Taiki, is welcoming. Already wondering when I can visit again.“
“Very understated, simple, small Japanese hand roll bar. Reminiscent of one of many small establishments you’d find in a stall-lined street in Japan. ?? It can get packed very fast if you’re here at a busy time but if you’re here off-hours alone? It’s perfect. The hand rolls are everything you need and nothing you don’t. The simplicity of crispy nori and fresh fish is ??. It’s not a place that will fill you up unless you really break the bank. But it’s a good place to eat very high quality food on a sensible portion. Eat well. Live well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“This place gets A+ in every way. Service, wait staff, decor, food. Not even the slightest negative word. My first time here, I was blown away. The food is beyond amazing. Every morsel. Each dish has its own unique taste & experience. LOVE“
“?????I can't get enough of this poke spot! Seriously, it's become my go-to whenever I'm in need of a satisfying and healthy meal. The bowls are incredibly filling, and I love how they strike that perfect balance between nutritious and delicious. But what really sets this place apart is the vibe and the staff. Sho, who works there, is an absolute gem. Always with a smile, always welcoming, and can we talk about his music taste? It's like he has a direct line to my playlist! Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of fishiness, but here, they nail it. Not too fishy at all, just the perfect amount of flavor and kick. I'm seriously craving it just thinking about it.Count me in for another visit soon! ?“
“Had to wait 20 minutes as we just popped in to see if we could get a table. Small place but very busy with take out, deliveries and dine in. Had miso soup, entrees, and salad sides. Side of California rolls too. Very tasty and good portions. Probably could have 2 entrees for three people as we could not finish. The desert was very good with various teas mixed into ice cream. Mmmm. Our server was very attentive filling our glasses with water from water bottle left on our table.“
“Really great spot with an unbearable lunch special. $10.50 for 3 rolls is basically a steal & the choices you get are vast. All ingredients taste fresh and overall delicious. Make sure to get the Lychee ice drink, you won’t regret it. The service was lovely and all staff members were welcoming. Absolutely recommend!Vegetarian options: Vegetable rolls, hibachi vegetables, teriyaki tofu, vegetable tempura, soups, salads, basil eggplant, veggie stir-fry, & noodle dishes.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of children friendly dishes available from beginner style sushi rolls, chicken katsu, tempura, teriyaki, and lunch bento boxes.“
“I’ve only ordered food to-go from Sushi Yashin and I ordered it 4 days in a row, so I hope that sums up my review for the most part. The Spicy Girl roll is tasty and delicious with fresh tuna and jalapeno for a kick. The Apollo roll is tempura shrimp with some sort of mayo on top. The Rainbow roll has different fish on top like tuna, salmon, and yellowtail—if you’re looking for one roll with variety, this is the one I’d recommend. As for the normal rolls, can’t go wrong with a basic California roll.We will definitely be back and hopefully for dine-in so we can try it at its freshest!Vegetarian options: Avocado rolls / edamame / miso soup“
“I order pickup here almost exclusively when craving sushi and it's definitely the best in the area. That said, some things on the menu just shouldn't be on there at all. If you're going for the first time the standouts are spicy girl roll, rockstar roll, firecracker shrimp app, and any of the classic sushi rolls.“
“This is hands down my favorite sushi in Brooklyn and honestly the best sushi I've ever had! I stumbled upon this place last year and have tried plenty of sushi since but nothing compares. The quality of the fish they use is incredible, super fresh. Every roll I've tried has been delicious. But I think what really makes it that much better is that you can tell that they put love into their food. The owners are super kind and welcoming. Every time I come in, I'm treated with the utmost respect and care. They are hardworking and humble people that genuinely want you to have a good experience. Even friends who I've brought there have said it's some of the best sushi they've ever had. Okinawa is a staple! (Picture: Alaska Roll & Okinawa Roll)“
“This Sushi Tokyo is incredible, I have had the pleasure of getting to know every single employee who works here, and every single one is exceptionally welcoming, and offere amazing service, I hope you try this location, and I hope you give a special shout out to Rotem, who works hard every day to make this restaurant special every single day!“
“Ki Sushi is my 'Go-To' place for lunch after a long yet productive, remote work day. Recently, after placing a takeout order, there was a mixup with my order.I called and spoke to a manager, and after a moment or two, he offered to make good on the mixup during my next visit.I returned the next day, and the staff were most gracious and apologized for the mixup and made good with their promise.“
“The staff was so respectful and nice they came up to you as soon as you walked up to the register? the bubble tea tasted so heavenly especially the vanilla flavor and the french fries was so good i expected it to be small but it was a WHOLE meal to eat and for a very cheap price too. Will definitely be coming back here soon ヽ(^o^)丿“
“This is my favorite go to spot in the Brooklyn area... Always fresh and always great service.... The value WAS the best part, not so much the case anymore, still worth it.Order the JACK ROLL and follow me on Instagram@AbiteOUTwithJACK for more great food finds!“
“Made reservations ahead of time for my daughter's birthday and we all had a great time! Taken care of and accommodated quickly. Staff very friendly and entertaining. Food was very good and hot sake was delicious!!My daughter was very happy, thank you Arirang!“
“This place is TRULY the best, cleanest, tastiest, freshest sushi in Brooklyn. My family and I eat sushi 2x a week and we have tried hundred of places, and Daigonis consistently the highest quality with the best flavor. I can't recommend more highly!!“
“This place is super busy, likely due to the budget friendly pricing. Food quality is pretty good. Wish the orders can come out earlier. Called well in advance, but order was not ready. Definitely worth a try. This place is takeout only. Street parking is tough so get a companion.“
“This is our fancy place. The waiters are very attentive and courteous. Food is always tasty and fresh. A consistent pleasant experience.Vegetarian options: Gyoza, salads are good with avocado,Edamame, seaweed salad & veggie hibachi,Vegetarian rolls as well“
“I stopped by tonight and had a great experience. The restaurant is very clean, and they have some cute Valentine's Day decorations up. The wait for the food was not long, and it tasted delicious. The staff members were kind and courteous.“
“I LOVE Ishi so much... This was my favorite omakase experience in NYC! Brought my parents here for their anniversary and their first ever Omakase. The ambiance is lovely. The interior is warm, inviting and intimate. Staff is very welcoming. The food is AMAZING and high quality. Every single piece was delicious and we were so impressed. I will definitely be back. There are so many great omakase places in NYC but this was the first that made me want to revisit even without a special occasion to celebrate.Thank you to the team at Ishi for such a wonderful experience!“
