But as soon as I came back to Albany, Smokey Bones was the first restaurant where I wanted to eat. I haven't been here in a long time and man this place has gone downhill fast. Rusty air vents in the dining room. Lots of evidence of roof leaks on the drop ceiling. Some spots are really black. Gross. Went Monday 4/1/2024 around 5pm and was told they were out of ribs, ribeye,shrimp and nachos..... and the stay went downhill from that. Pulled pork was dry and bland. Brisket was rubbery. "Homemade" beans? Yeah right. Tasted like store brand canned stuff. And the brown gravy on the potatoes? Gross to the point of being an insult to my taste buds. Waitress was nice. Beer was cold and the mixed drink for my wife was good. Would not recommend

Arrived on Tuesday night looking for my favorite bartender Alexia. Found out she was replaced for no reason and we don't understand why. Alexa is friendly, efficient, and professional. With all the problems there, food specials they can't deliver, and not accepting their $5 coupons we have, she's the reason we keep returning there. Service was slow, maybe time to find another place!

Took forever to be able to place our order and get even a simple glass of water.Had to ask the hostess for a picture of water while we Waited food was OK. Nothing to brag. Would I go back? No, it's very over priced. It is smoked meats and you put barbecue sauce on it. It's really, nothing special.

The service by our waiter was absolutely amazing and that's the main reason why it's two stars. But here's why no more. We got fried pickles, some were lumped together and didn't cook all the way. We didn't complain about that. When we started to complain when I got my smokehouse Mac and cheese and it was absolutely cold. Like I understand they premade it but they should keep warm at least. I had to send that back. And my sisters broccoli and brisket was cold and had to send it back for that reason. When the food came back out, the brisket and broccoli was hot. The Mac and Cheese was still Luke warm. It's unfortunate because it was my first time there and it was my sisters birthday. It almost ruined her birthday. The kitchen needs to make sure the food is hot when it's brought out, not just the plates.
So the restaurant says they’re open until 1am on a Saturday (this was the official time posted) I ordered food online and when I got there to pick it up I was told they’re short staff and will not prepare my food. Even though it was already processed and paid for. They clearly were not going to prepare my order even though I ordered on door dash and got notification and time that it would be prepared. I drove 20mins to get my food and was told it is not prepared or will be prepared. I’m making this note in real time because I’m still in shock, mind you the restaurant was open and people were actually dinning, they just refused service. Very annoyed by the lack of any kind of customer service because I have worked in the restaurant business with Darden for over 5 years.

My family and I come every Monday to get wings. We love this weekly routine of coming to Smokey bones and having fun hanging out together at the bar. Jess is ALWAYS our server at the bar and she’s very nice, enjoyable and very attentive to the people at the bar!Dietary restrictions: I’m gluten free and there’s a lot of gluten free options!
