“Love this place. Clean and very fast service. I stop every time I pass it on business trips.. I always send picture of front to my family and they are always jealous I am getting to eat there. I always get two quarts of matzo ball soup to take home for the family and they love it. Awesome place!”
“Both my husband and I don’t get out much these days with two small children so when we finally had a date night we wanted to try il traverna. It was absolutely beautiful inside the food was wonderful the drinks were okay. I only say that because i definitely ordered the wrong drink. Next date night we would 100% go back and recommend it for anyone to try.”
“I have visited this restaurant twice. That is a positive sign by itself. Sotanos is located on Main Street in Fishkill, NY. The area is easy to get to as it it right off of I 84 and Route 9, a major thoroughfare. There is ample parking in the back of this white, quaint, vintage house turned into an eatery. That's a good thing because at peak hours, there is no Street parking to be found. You will be greated immediately upon arrival and seated in one of the dining areas to the left OR at the small bar to your right. We ordered fried calamari and shrimp ? wrapped in bacon ? as appetizers. A universal truth is that bacon makes everything taste better! Both were tasty and devoured so fast that I forgot to take pretty, unmolested pictures of them. You will notice immediately that the portions here are adequate, so you do not feel robbed, but unless you had gastro surgery, there will not be a lot of take out boxes clogging up your refrigerator You get JUST enough with lots of sauce to trick the ? eyes into thinking ? the plates ? are loaded. The main courses ordered were a fillet mignon with scallops and a "crispy" duck that was not crispy at all. Reportedly, the duck was delicious, but the crispy description was on the menu. The steak was a good grade, tender, and prepared to my liking. The scallops were some of the best ? that I ever had. As you can see in the picture, you don't get many of them. Gelato as a desert is my recommendation. The service was excellent. I like the non rushed eating experience on well spaced tables on beautiful, 100 year old broad plank floors. The bathroom was clean. I can see a pretty good wait for this room if the place is crowded. If memory serves me, it is a single use bathroom. It's a VERY nice place to go for a delicious meal, perhaps for a special occasion. I would and will absolutely visit again unless I can find a comparable restaurant with slightly larger portions for the price. Sotanos is a wonderful experience although not a great value. Your mileage may vary. Enjoy!Parking: May spots in the rearKid-friendliness: Kristen was informative and attentive.”
“Our experience was pleasant. The food was delicious and presented exceptionally. Appetizers and main dishes were served hot and great presentation. Drinks were perfect as well as the dessert choices. Dessert, coffee and after meal drinks just added to the whole meal and dining experience. Definitely will recommend and return soon.”
“This is a beautiful restaurant located of the Fishkill/Wapoingers border. You feel like you are in NYC and the service is always terrific, the bread is fantastic and they have one of the best pizzas in the area. For salmon fans they are really great too. Actually everything they make there is delicious. Weeknights are generally not so busy so that's when we prefer to go. They have some nice desserts too, but the entrees are what keeps us coming back. We are excited to try their Sunday brunch too. Definitely give this place a try, it's rare these days to find an affordable, high quality restaurant on Route 9.”
“I brought my family of 7 here and had a great time. Food amazing! Service was excellent! Ambience was great!Parking: No parking problems at all!Kid-friendliness: 100%”
“Had takeout and food was much better than before. All dishes were excellent. Also they stopped using styrofoam which is why I originally stopped getting takeout. We had spring rolls, chicken satay, pad Thai, and chicken cashew entree. I wonder if they have new owners.”
“Stopped in for gas and decided to try halal brothers food . My fiance and I settled on the chicken fries and are so glad we did . The food was amazing hands down some of the best loaded fries we ever had . Can't wait to stop in again and try more of the food . This spot is definitely a hidden gem .”
“Excellent local casual restaurant. We’ve only been here twice in the past five years, mostly recently March 2024. This past visit we had the steak cafe salad, which was delicious. We also split the garlic bread, which was a very smart inventive take on it, cubing the pieces which made it much more enjoyable of a bite rather than ripping apart or gnawing away at a big loaf. Service was friendly and timely. Cute place and nice atmosphere. Nicely located by the restaurants and shops.”
“I've lived in the area for 23 years. Pizza places have come and gone in that time without leaving an impression. Pizza and Stuff is honestly the best tasting pizza I've had in a while. I am outside their normal delivery range (have to order thru Doordash if I want delivery) but I will 1000% order from them once a week and pick it up on the way home. Their pizza tastes great and their staff are always friendly and welcoming. The storefront might be a bit small, but it's homey and comfortable. You can never go wrong ordering from these guys. I highly recommend them, even over much closer pizza parlors.Dietary restrictions: Able to accommodate gluten free and veganWheelchair accessibility: Door is directly accessible from the street level”
“Good food strong drinks but the sangria not that great ..large portions had enough to eat for dinner the next night ..2 meals a sangria and a margarita all for under 60$”
“Fishkill is rich with Dining opportunities. The Newest addition to dining on main street is a true enrichment for the community. Across from the long established photography Studio is this new pearl. The Menü is rich in verity the items are authentic the owner and the chef is Greek and the food will confirm it.We were there a week after they opened and they already had a good flow of takeout orders. My wife had the Salmon and I had the Gyro platter.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp in back leading to the parking lot.”
“Parking: Parking lot is in the back of the restaurant, or on the street. It gets busy during peak times, like evenings and weekends. We got there a little early (like 4:30pm) and had decent parking.”
“$13 burrito could compete in Southern California. Incredible flavors and perfect ratios of rice/beans/chicken/salsa. When I held my burrito, I thought I had dinner/lunch ready to go... Never made it past dinner. This is arguably the best burrito in the Fishkill/Beacon area.”
“Excellent restaurant. Amazing food, fair pricing, great staff. The best Indian restaurant in the area, by far. Would not change a thing. The standard classic chicken tikka masala is fantastic, as is the rosemary garlic naan.”
