You must show proof of vaccine to enter and wear a mask upon entry. Always great customer service and amazing food. They bring bread and butter to the table when they bring the drinks. One entrée is enough for 2; HUGE portions. I wish they gave you hand wipes when you order something with lobster and crab because you have to crack it yourself (which i like) but it can get messy.

Slow service but great food. I was the only person there and ordered my food. Another party came in a few minutes after and we're finished with their food and were getting their dessert before my food even came out.

Amazing service and extremely great food. Their mussels was amazing. Their lamb was extremely delicious and tender. Their potatoes were soft and cooked very well. Their cake was also very rich in flavour. Definitely go here.

Parking lot was very small and had to park 2 blocks away owing to limited capacity. The dinner roll was dry and a little stale. Crab cake appetizer was good but the mussels in garlic sauce was a bit too salty. The fish of the day (bronzini) was delicious and I would definitely revisit this restaurant for this fish meal and great service rendered by dining staff.

If you love seafood, you'll love O Lavrador! I can't believe I've lived in this neighborhood all my life and never visited. The food was really good, great portions and amazing service! We went for my dad's birthday who hasn't been out to eat since covid but felt very comfortable. The seating was nice and spaced out. We will definitely be visiting again.

My reviews usually come with tasty looking pictures but the fact that there are none should tell you where I'm going with this one. 2 years ago my husband brought the family here for my birthday. It was nice and the food was good. In fact the reason we came here today was to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. He has been talking about a seafood dish here that made a huge impression on him. 2 years ago! He described it as a seafood kitchen-sink mixture over linguine in a spicy red sauce, almost like a bouillabaisse. Man I wished I had taken a picture of that dish. Cause we sure thought we had the right dish... Apparently, their dishes are very similar so you have to be careful with the description. We were all pretty sure it was the Lagosta Fra-Diablo. My niece and I ordered two pork dishes: Grilled Pork with potatoes (Special of the day) and Pork with Clams and potatoes. It was the same dish, same taste, one with clams placed on it. My husband had the whole grilled branzino. The underwhelmed look on his face said it all. I have had flame grilled Branzino before and this was not it. My son had Camarao Scampi. He loves any dish with garlicky shrimp. He was not pleased as the shrimp were bland at best and there seemed to be more liquid on the dish than needed as it made the rice a little soupy. The younguns didn't even ask about desserts. For my family, that's crazy odd. All in all, this was not what we expected of a place that left a first great impression on us. It was our second time there as a family and sadly our last. For the prices we expected tastier dishes that would keep us coming back. Just my experience. Looks like many other people say differently? I am but one lowly yelper.

O Lavrador -- more like Oh Hell NO! My friend came over to visit and we decided to order food. She swears by this place and said the food was great. Due to her raving reviews about O Lavrador I really was excited to try something different. I've never had Portuguese food before. I asked her for recommendations and we ultimately decided on Camarao a Piri-Piri, Rissois de Camarao, and Frango a Lavrador. Our order arrived less than 45 mins and everything about it was all wrong. For starters my friend's food wasn't spicy, the sauce was watery instead of creamy and thick. She was truly disappointed. My food came in a fancy aluminum tray as if I was hosting a party. Upon opening the tray I couldn't believe my eyes -- it was tray of the incorrect order and the food was bland. What I ordered was the Frango a Lavrador which consists of Chicken Cutlets Sautéed in Light Red Sauce with Shrimp Served with Rice and Vegetables. I received the complete opposite. I have no idea why O Lavrador decided to send me a tray of chicken cutlets with mushrooms, rice, and veggies. I also asked for garlic scampi sauce instead of the red sauce. Please do not get me started on the Rissois de Camarao. They reminded me of frozen fish sticks they used to serve at my junior high school. The stuffing for the mini turnovers were not only bland, but they were filled with Mac and cheese instead of shrimp. Everything about our dinner was incredibly terrible.

This place is amazing! I have Portuguese family and they told me about this restaurant. I'm so glad we tried it. The vibe of this place is formal yet comfortable. The service was fantastic. All the staff was super friendly, attentive, and helpful in suggesting items since it was our first time there. We ordered steak and a pork and seafood dish and everything was super flavorful and cooked very well. We also had dessert with fresh cream, which was a great way to finish the meal. We will definitely be back to this lovey restaurant.

O Lavrador aka O Lavs Being frequently in the area some days, I finally had an opportunity to check them out. Indoor dining restrictions were partially lifted, so I chose an early weekday, not so busy time of day to plan my visit. I have heard of this place more times than I can count. O Lavs, as some of the regulars call the restaurant, has a long-standing history with the neighborhood as they've been around since 1981. How wonderful is that? O Lavs Spanish-style décor with hardwood floors plus brick walls were a standout to me, offering a unique and inviting atmosphere. The highlight here is their Portuguese-Spanish cuisine which lived up to the constant conversations I've had and did not disappoint. Rounding things out were the staff that remained friendly despite the whole pandemic thing. Temperature checks, plus Contact Tracing were required at the time of my visit. Plus, face masked and gloved waitstaff. Now that things are gradually opening, hopefully they'll get the additional customer support needed to stay around for another 40 years. TIP: Parking Lot available on-site.

We ate here during COVID in the spring. Food and drinks were really good. We had seafood dishes that were fresh and flavorful. The drinks were strong. The staff was great. I ordered food to go and left it. It was waiting when I returned. Will eat here again.

The O Lavrador Restaurant in my opinion is a local Gem for a food lovers delight. I have been a long time patron of this lovely, quaint restaurant. Where the food and atmosphere is always a intoxicating adventure whether you are in the mood for seafood poultry or beef cuisine I am sure you will not be disappointed. The OLavrador has always put in mind of the local pub were you can come in from the cold of winter or heat of summer and find a friendly face to greet you and ask you what will you be having today sir or mam. I can go on and on because I have so many memorable experiences it would be a page instead of a comment. In closing I will say just go there and treat yourself and a friend to a great dining experience.

I was here two years ago my best friend too me, and it wasn't the greatest experience. Here was my review of them on another well known review site, "Sub par service. Appetizers were bad. The corquets were microwaved and bland. Steak was under seasoned. Wait staff was hit and miss. Definitely not going back. Definitely not Portuguese cuisine. The one Portuguese dessert wasn't even available." Fast forward to present day & my best friend says "hey, let's try them again - maybe it will be better." Now, when I do my ratings it highly weighted on the food & service. Sadly, the food wasn't anything to be happy about but the service this time around was great. They have an outdoor dining area. It's nicely built for the cold weather here in NYC. Ample heating lamps & butane towers of fire! Seats are well spaced apart for Covid rules & hand sanitizer available thru Out. Staff are wearing mask & glove. Service was great. Our waiter was polite, prompt (as can be) and funny. He did the best he could with the given understaffing due to the times. He made recommendations on what to eat & drink. Food: this is where it all fell short - again. I had their Mariscada Salsa Verde(Lobster, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp and Calamari in Creamy Parsley Sauce with Saffron Rice) It came out in a pot nice & steamy with the rice on the side. Taste: it lacked flavor & spices. It was pretty bland. The rice was dry & no flavor at all. My SO had their Paelha Marinheira. Once again flavorless & lacking. It was also upsetting that the lobster was tossed in & there was tiny pieces of the shell mixed into the rice. They should either just put the tail with the meat out or just the meat mixed in. It's also not very appealing to see those little legs still on. My best friend had this weird platter with pork tenderloins with clams and potatoes. It was ok. The pork was kind of dry & the clam had a sauce that was sort of sour/too acidic. Dessert: Definitely recommended their serradura! That was yummy af! The tiramisu was good, nice coffee flavor. The chocolate cake was super rich & moist The drinks were good. I would definitely come back for drinks. Strawberry Daquri / Pina Colada/ & Fireball Mix. The Portuguese soda is also yummy! - Smol. This place has onsite parking with decent amount of spots.
