Reviews for Bessou

I had higher expectations for this place but it fell short in terms of ambience and food. It's more like 3.5 stars but will bump up if I have a better second experience. For brunch, I got the roasted fish (dorado) Japanese breakfast with a poached egg. It tasted fine overall but nothing amazing. I like the balance of protein, veggies and carbs. I actually enjoyed the salad and miso soup the most. The miso soup had some kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) which I've never seen at full review
The ambiance was nice except for being too close to the next party although we were separated by air tight plexiglass. The waiter was accommodating and knowledgeable. I recommend the charred mushrooms Namul to start. The kabocha purée enhanced but didn't hide the flavor of the mushrooms. The tuna tataki hand roll platter had the perfect balance of the marinade with the ginger and sauce. Even if you don't know how to roll the hand roll you can eat it deconstructed as full review
The food was decent. Customer service was 10/10. However, I don't like how there is a window panel dividing the two tables because it felt too close to the next table. Maybe it would have been better if the window panel was blurred. Salmon Crispy Rice: this was nothing special, it's just pieces of salmon with egg roes on top of the crispy rice, which was not crispy at all. Nanban Chicken: the sauce covering the chicken tastes like sour cream & onion chips. Overall taste was meh, full review
