The hype was crazy and it would be a shame not to hear about this place that organizes a trip to New York City.We came, not for the cronut (at 5 in the evening there was no stock).wow,Crazy pastries and amazing cakes, original for its own sake and exceptional precision in the world of baking and confectionery. Literally come to an art museum and get different paintings every time!I won't tell about what we ordered because it must have been out of production for a long time, but I strongly recommend coming and having the experience!plus! The seller is very nice.

In the display case you can see that they have desserts from days ago and they still sell them :/ the place is dirty and deplorable, the breads we tried do not stand out at all and are very expensive.

Yummy desserts can be a bit chaotic inside, but it is still a great experience. The only downfall for me was the lack of diversity when I saw who was all behind the counter.

Prices are outrageous! Almost $8.00 for a Cronut is ridiculous. Regardless of how popular they may be, customers shouldn't be charged 3 or 4 times what a Cronut is worth.I ended up buying a large coffee and asked for some half & half. The coffee was NOT hot at all, and it didn't have a good flavor. To make it worse, the coffee came out to over $5.00!I'm not an out of towner or some tourist visiting New York City. I was born and raised in New York City and know what a good cup of coffee and a real bakery is. Dominique Ansel Bakery's coffee is trash, and their desserts are a HUGE, RIP OFF!!

Overall, it’s worth visiting, but I would skip the cronut - it was overfilled and overhyped. The DKAs are worth trying, and I would opt for some of the other desserts in the case, aside from the eclair which was also disappointing. If you can sit inside, you will have a nice yet cramped vibe. Outside looks like Pinterest gone wrong. Generally, I would appreciate more interesting flavors across the food.

Very busy and popular spot with tons of selections. Got the DKA, cronut, apple tart tatin and a blossoming hot chocolate. There are decent amount of seating at the back, some are half outdoor. The DKA is tender and denser on the inside while it is crunchy outside. A perfect combination of texture. It is great for a light breakfast or after meal dessert that is not too heavy or sweet. The Cronut is filled with light sweet cream quite a surprised. Very interesting texture, tho it is the most heavy and sweet out of what I ordered. The apple tart has a good combination of texture and flavor: creamy, buttery & crumbly tart, refreshing caramelized apple. The hot chocolate is thick and has a toasted nutty flavor which is my favorite kind of hot chocolate.

This place is way past its glory days. I usually judge any bakery by their plain croissant because it should be the flagship item. Their plain croissant is too buttrery, doughy and not very good. Other pastries are not bad but not amazing.

I love this place. Everything is wonderful. It is a sensory oasis in the concrete jungle.

This is the ultimate destination for high-end luxury pastries. I never knew pastries could be this good. My favorites are the cronuts and the cookie shots - and the Frozen S'more is one of the greatest things on the planet. The items in the pastry case change on a rotational basis and there's always new things to try. They know how to keep the menu interesting and creative. The taste and texture is always amazing - and it's always fresh. The back seating area has great coffee shop vibes, looking onto more seating outdoors with vines growing up an overhead trellis. Jerry Seinfeld was here to film an episode of "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee" with Tina Fey.

New York has a certain shiny appeal to it that makes you feel like magic is in the air. Dominique Ansel's Bakery does a great job at keeping that magic alive. The story: My husband and I took an anniversary trip to the big apple and we brought BIG appetites along with us. There were a few must try stops along the way, which is how we wound up at this bakery on our last day before departing NYC. If you're a foodie, New Yorker, or an avid pastry lover - you've likely heard about Dominique's famous "cronut". Half croissant and half donut. The flavor of said "cronut" changes monthly and comes with a long line outside of the building. We showed up for this one item, but while waiting in line decided to grab a few more fan favorites. Some of which were recommended by locals waiting in line with us. On the menu: we tried the monthly flavor of the Cronut, DKA, Frozen S'more (fav), and chocolate chip cookie cup Overall thoughts: There are times when you visit a place that has been on your bucket list and are let down, this is not one of those times. I dream about the day when I can return to Dominique's bakery and get another chance to try the delicious pastries and frozen s'mores. In my opinion, this is a must try!

OK, I am very very late to the whole cronut thing, I realize. Indeed, I was in a bakery yesterday that had the latest trend -- the croissant/chocolate chip cookie thing -- which I passed on, because sometimes I think these things just get totally overhyped. But damn, the cronut was the real deal. I am a huge fan of both the donut and the croissant. Jelly filled donuts are among my favorite too. So I was blown away to bite into such perfection. Husband also got an eclair, which he wolfed down -- I'm guessing it was great too. Coffee was fine -- not terribly hot considering we ordered americanos. But for the best as the lids weren't secured and they spilled all over our hands. Not mad at all because my god, the cronut is sheer genius. I toyed with the idea of getting back in line -- not a terribly long wait, even on a Saturday -- for one of the other pastries. Everything looked incredible.

It wouldn't be original if I told you these signature desserts are the best!
