The fried pickles were terrible. The pickles were cut super thin with lots of breading. The breading tastes like corn dog batter. Sweet. Not a fan at all. The portions were huge and good. The pickles were delicious. Took home 2 quarts of the dill pickles. Absolutely fabulous.

Every time I eat here I get some good old comfort food. Their cheese grits are amazing! The music they play will have you dancing in your seat. The bench seats are comfortable but the tall chairs aren't. My last visit I got an expired diet coke and was told people complained earlier about the diet cokes so they removed them when I complained. That being said, I recommend visiting and I'll be visiting again. Try the honey chicken, biscuit and cheese grits.

I was looking for a place to have an American breakfast on the upper west side and I came across this place which at lunchtime was packed, inside and out, with local people and few tourists which boded well for my objective! I took the banana pancakes with chocolate chips and the more classic bacon eggs and cheddar: immense portions that I actually devoured: the pancakes were really soft and tasty, not excessively sweet and the eggs were well made with super crispy bacon and lots of cheddar that didn't make me disgusted by the huge quantity. A super recommended place to enjoy the non-touristy environment and good local food. Even though the place was packed the service was super quick.

I wish I had known that they didn't provide utensils or napkins. The food was outstanding but as visitors to NYC we had no idea we needed to ask for them and it was a real mess

Had a late lunch here yesterday with friends. Naturally it was fairly busy on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Approximately a 30 minute wait, I’d have to say it’s worth it. While I can’t give the food 5 stars, the quantity was downright comical. On top of that, our server Mason was one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re in the neighborhood, you owe it to yourself to try them out.

Jacob’s Pickles was able to fit in 3 friends on one of the communal tables in the back — honestly an excellent idea which more restaurants should implement. Portions were generous — we split the mac & cheese, chicken and biscuits (with side of house pickles of course!), and the biscuit of the day - red velvet biscuit. The pickles — I can see why the restaurant is named after them because they were crunchy, fresh, and perfectly zesty. The chicken and biscuits were Southern-sized and perfectly cooked. Mac and cheese was creamy and a little on the heavier side. I would have skipped the red velvet biscuit and opted next time for a plain biscuit with jam; felt more cakey and not as worth it.Service was excellent, friendly, and fast. The place knows its target audience with millennial favs playing in the background. Don’t make the mistake we did and try to reserve because this place was hopping and we were luckily to get seats!

Currently my favorite NYC restaurant. I’ve been here now probably a dozen times. Buffalo Mac n Cheese is a must.
