I have never experienced a more delightful and pleasant omakase experience. I was overjoyed. I’ve been to a very nice sushi restaurant before, and tried their omakase. Sushi by M is superior to my previous experience (which was very delightful as well). The atmosphere, the service, and the food. Impeccable. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite, and every moment I got to spend with good people. It was a one of a kind experience hands down. I will be back. Thank you so very much for treating me with your service and beautifully crafted dishes.

I may have a totally skewed review because I'm comparing it to Sushi W. Sushi by M seems cost-effective until you order add-ons + drinks (from their very limited drink menu) and you're spending easily $100+ per person.The service was so mediocre at Sushi by M - it feels like they barely care if you're there and barely explain how to order, what the menu is like, etc. The atmosphere is bland, they really don't try to make it feel special.And by all means, do not book on the wrong day by accident! I accidentally made a reservation for the same day I was booking & they charged me $260 for 4 people. I immediately called to reschedule & apologized. They only refunded me if I fulfilled by reservation 48hrs later. It just all felt a bit transactional & didn't have the best experience.If you want an affordable, EXCEPTIONAL omakase experience - go to Sushi W on the Upper east or Upper west side. The service doesn't even compare.My advice: GO TO SUSHI W.

Our cousin Helen recommended we go and we all went together because she loves it so much. I can see why she does. The owners M and his wife are so wonderful and the food is totally amazing. They take such pride in their work and their preparation. The restaurant is immaculate, and very bright and cheery. The service is superb. This is a place I would definitely go back to, and they were also very accommodating of our dietary restrictions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is one of my new favorite omakase spots in the city. Not a single piece of fish was chewy. Every piece was so fresh. Love how they start with the less fatter pieces and work their way up. The experience got better and better with every piece. You can tell it was well thought out. It was one of my friends first time having omakase and he fell in love with sushi by m!
