One of the best Thai restaurant in NYC. Friendly and attentive staff, always ready to customize the food based on customer’s dietary needs. Good ambiance and each table has plexiglass partition on either side. Flavorful Thai food and quick service with reasonable price
I had the wings as appetizers, wasn't the best. I love Thai food but the wings were just not tasty, they were undercooked. I had the rice with minced chicken which was good though. Service also took about 30 mins for the server to come. Maybe if I come another day everything will be better.
So good! I recommend making a reservation ahead of time because there was still a long line on a Monday night. The soft shell crab mango salad is a must! And the red curry was a huge portion. I am leaving very full and satisfied. I can't wait to come back!
This my regular place. I usually do a take out and sometimes dine in. I love their Panang curry and the Massaman curry. The ambiance is nice.
Crazy good Thai food. We always like a Thai place that shows photos on the menu because we never know what we are getting. We let the waiter pick our food and we have no idea what we had, but it was great. You select how hot you want it. They serve a spicy fruity sauce with some items that was crazy good with just mild heat. I asked for more with a bit more heat and got it asap and it was even better!!! Check out the photos. For all Thai places we look at the photos in the reviews, do a screen capture and then show the waiter and ask them what they think of this dis or that. Works great. Desserts were good too. The MANGO STICKY RICE is an incredible dessert that is a must have.
Went there with 3 of my pals and had an amazing time. They have, without a doubt, the BEST Thai tea I've EVAR had in my life. The chicken pad Thai was top notch as well as the spring rolls and the grilled chicken skewers. The service was great, the staff was very attentive. Will have to go back.
My favorite! Up Thai has an extensive menu and I always leave satisfied. They’re well-managed and the waitstaff are so nice. My friends are always up to come up to the UES thanks to Up Thai. The only thing that can’t go up is my rating because I’m already at five stars. Only con is that everyone else agrees with me so this place gets busy at peak hours.
Have lived in the area for about 4 years and have never stopped by Up Thai until tonight. If you have not been....YOU NEED TO GO!!! Our waiter Bobo was great! He recommended the duck tamarand it was delicious!!! We will 100% be back and will ask for Bobo!
Food was TO DIE FOR! Absolutely fire and hit the spot and i thought portions were great. Staff was super accommodating. However the only thing that was a little disappointing is that my family and i wished we could have chillaxed and stayed a bit more and caught up with a friend of ours, possibly get coffee/dessert, but it was so busy, the staff had to tell us to politely, we had to go.
Great Thai spot! Came on a weekend for early dinner and the place was pretty packed. Luckily my friend and I were able to get a table but I saw some people waiting a bit for a table. There are so many options on the menu but I went with a classic Pineapple Fried Rice with some crispy duck. I usually get chicken with this dish but I thought the duck was delicious and went really well with the pineapple fried rice. Would love to come back and try some of their other menu options!
Up Thai had an amazing selection of Thai food and it was so tasty! I would definitely come back here to eat their crab fried rice again. All the items we ordered were amazing - we got lychee drink (I forgot the name of it...) which was also so yummy!!
I really enjoyed my Soft Shell Crab mango salad earlier this week. I brought my dog and we sat outside on a nice 80 degree weather day. The soft shell crab was cooked to perfection, seasoned well and had a light but crispy exterior. Up Thai is situated just 2 blocks from another phenomenal Thai restaurant so it's always so hard to choose which one to go to. Ultimately, I eat at both. But maybeeee eat here at Up Thai a little more often because they don't close mid day like the other restaurant does. Shutting down at 3:45pm and reopening at 5pm doesn't work for my schedule and luckily Up Thai doesn't do that and stays open, hooray! Menu is also quite extensive, lots of different flavor profiles and vegetarian options to choose from. Service is also excellent. Come!!!
I will definitely have to come back here and try more items but the lunch special garlic chicken was really just okay. The flavor was on the boring side and just was not memorable at all. The lunch special comes with your choice of side which can be a soup, salad or spring roll. I had the spring roll and that was decent. I'll be back for sure to try other items on their menu.
Authentic Thai and phenomenal service from the hosts to the wait and bus staff. The coconut soup and duck was probably the best I’ve ever had. Duck tamarind was crispy and flavorful as described. I was heartbroken when my favorite local Thai restaurant closed but now I have found another!
Love the ambience and amazing food. Definitely gets busy so be prepared to wait on the weekends.
