“Food was outstanding Place is very nice Great service Many choices of items to order For first timers it's hard to know how much to order initially - next time I go I will do a better job of ordering and I am looking forward to next time”
“The purple elephant is awesome! Lots of health conscious options. Their non alcoholic cocktail options are fantastic! They have the best nachos I've ever had in my life, the food is high quality and the atmosphere is so much fun! I've been coming here on a regular basis for years and it just keeps getting better!”
“What a great cafe to just sit down and do some work , I loved the design as well as the greenery , the atmosphere was very calming and refreshing and modern which I love . The staff was very kind as well”
“In the charming village of Northport, NY, there's a place where the clock hands seem to spin a little slower, and the welcome is as warm as the soup. The Shipwreck Dinner is not just a local eatery. It's a time capsule that captures the essence of a bygone era, a place that cherishes the slow and steady rhythm of a close-knit community. From the moment you step inside, The Shipwreck Dinner envelops you in an ambiance that whispers of yesteryears -- a time when everyone knew your name and your favorite dish. The air is rich with the aroma of simmering soups, each batch lovingly prepared to perfection. As a soup aficionado myself, I can attest to the fact that their offerings are nothing short of amazing. The heart and soul of The Shipwreck Dinner is, without a doubt, owner Dennis and his dedicated staff. Dennis, with his ever-present smile and genuine affection for his clientele, sets the tone for the establishment. He's more than just an owner. He's the captain of a ship where every passenger is treated like family. His passion for the restaurant and the people it serves is evident in every interaction, fostering an atmosphere that's as comforting as the food. The staff's commitment to their work is palpable -- they move with a purpose and a joy that can only come from people who truly love what they do. Their approach to service is personal, attentive, and imbued with the kind of care that can only be found in a place where employees are there because they choose to be, not just because they have to be. The Shipwreck Dinner is a treasure of Northport, a reminder of the times when meals were savored, conversations lingered, and the community was at the heart of every business. It's a place where you can shake off the cold rush of the modern world and bask in the warmth of good food and even better company. For anyone searching for a meal that satisfies the stomach and the soul, The Shipwreck Dinner is the perfect port of call. It's a restaurant that proves that some places can withstand the tides of time, offering a harbor of delicious nostalgia to anyone who walks through its welcoming doors.”
“This is a true tasting menu! Delicious food that can fit any palette (nothing too fancy for those that aren't adventurous) and so much food and wine we were stuffed! Loved it and would definitely come back. Service especially was exceptional and we loved everything but the bacon (which just wasn't what we expected but of course eaten!).”
“The food was excellent, well paced and delicious. Made accommodations for dietary restrictions. Dining out almost anywhere is getting expensive. Noise level was a bit too loud for my liking.”
“This was my second time at the Harbor House with my family. Although this is a small restaurant, both times, the service, food, and overall feel were wonderful. We plan to go back again.”
“We moved to Northport 3 years ago and Main Street Cafe quickly became our favorite restaurant, not just because the food is delicious and the staff is so friendly, but the customers are delightful! Everyone is in a great mood. The prices are reasonable. Trivia contest on Tuesday nights are a lot of fun.”
“Excellent customer service. Just ordered some fried shrimp. They breaded and fried it to order for me. The food was fresh and the place was really clean. They had a nice variety. We will definitely come back again.”
“A true gem. One of the best and most authentic panni’s I’ve ever had (I had the Lupo). The owner is a fantastic and attentive guy. Everything on menu sounded great and delicious and makes deciding what to eat difficult (cause you want to try everything).”
“We were told to take your time, but we were rushed out after an hour and a half. Looks. Apologies. The whole nine. I think the opener should be “Welcome to Birdie Bar as we are happy to have and serve you. Please note, that due to space restrictions, as party of two you have a one hour and 30 minute time limit for your meal.””
“Iconic luncheonette, serving up juicy burgers and astonishing desserts !!Parking: Hard to find parking on the streets, but municipal parking is excellent.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu which I highly recommend for the money.”
“By far the best bagels I have ever had! Great food, great service. I ordered 2 dozen bagels for my daughter’s Halloween party at school and asked for them to be sliced and ready by 8am. Sure enough everything was packed and ready for when I picked them up. It’s a little out of my way but worth the drive when I’m craving fresh bagels.”
“Batata catering our family gatherings has become a tradition. Sandwiches and sides were a huge hit as always! Brother in law said “these sandwiches are epic”…My neice said the chicken w honey mustard was her favorite sandwich ever!!So you are def creating something special. Keep it up BATATA!”
“Was celebrating my wife's birthday for our second visit to Arlo. As was the case our last visit the food, service, and ambiance of the restaurant is off the charts. Have yet to order anything that was not among the very best we have ever had. Can't wait to go back again.”
