“This was the first time I had been to Rippers in eight years and it is still as good as it was in 2015. The burgers are so flavorful and juicy and came with a special sauce with cheese, lettuce and tomato. It tasted so good. The Fries were topped with salt, pepper and spices. They really have a great flavor and really don't need ketchup. The one thing is that they give you a very generous portion and are perfect for sharing. The view of the shore is amazing and it is nice to hear the waves crashing while you are eating. It puts you in the mood and you can just relax.“

Not just the service, but the food was actually really good. It is a lowkey place, but with great food with great portions for a fair price. The drinks were definitely potent as well. “Love it here! My husband and I have been twice since discovering it a month ago. The food is really good. We’ve tried the curry goat, curry chicken, jerk chicken, and stew chicken so far. My favorite dish has to be the jerk chicken plantain cups. We also tried the culture clash and the rum punch which were both great drinks.The owner (Mo) is awesome, he’s such a friendly guy and we were engaged in conversation with him the whole time we were there on our first visit. “Dinner on 02/01/2024.I had eaten at Jackson Hole before in 2015 at the (now closed) Bayside location, and ever since then I have always dreamed of returning here to eat their amazing burger again. For me, the one from Jackson Hole is the best in the world: big, tasty, succulent, I love it!! Also absolutely worth trying is the chilli with grated cheddar on top, a delight. And then the environment: this is the real American diner!! If you come to the USA, this is where you absolutely must eat at least once. You are great!!“

I went with my family, two children, and we ordered fries and chicken nuggets (panda combo) and believe me, the chicken tasted exquisite. For us, a standard hamburger with gluten-free bread (I think it's a great option for those of us who have problems with gluten and I think it's a PLUS) my partner ordered an American hamburger and the meat looked delicious. In addition to this we ordered a milkshake that was out of this world. “My husband and I actually have an addiction to this place. I think we have eaten there at least 5 times a week since it opened — like it’s a problem… but not a bad one to have. Every single thing on the menu is incredible, from the pizzas to the desserts to the zappolis. Fresh ingredients, amazing bread and crusts, delicious cheese. The Portobello Goat cheese panini is a favorite of mine, and so is the fresh mozarella panini. You can’t go wrong with any of the pizzas ever but my particular favorite at the moment is the “special” pizza with arugula, cherry tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. omg. divine.I used to get sick of pizza but that has yet to happen since we started eating at retro. I see multiple people walking around the neighborhood with boxes from there so I know we aren’t the only ones who have made the discovery of the best pizza in Astoria.
