My mother has Celiac and was over the moon that she could have anything on the menu! My shakshuka was good, she loved her chicken sandwich. But the star of lunch was the fried calamari. The place is cute and intimate, good music playing. We'll be back next time we're near.”

“Came here the first time I visited Rivehead and now I make sure I leave time to visit each time I come back! I l always order sandwiches because they have not yet disappointed! I've brought my whole family as well as friends here and every single person has LOVED it. The place is family owned and it looks probably a lot like it did when it first opened. So cute and old fashioned. Also, I love their egg creams and their chocolate shakes! Definitely worth ordering. Everything is reasonably priced and just perfectly made. It's just nice to have some simple foods perfectly made! Highly recommend to anyone in town for the day. (Hours are unpredictable so just give them a call before heading over, but honestly it's part of the charm, it's a family place!)”
“While in town for a few days we stopped here because I had a Groupon for a flight of 4 five oz beer/wine option. The place was kind of tucked away but had outdoor and indoor seating. The bartender helped us right away and we picked our 4 options and sat outside. They had some games indoor to play and it was pet friendly. Only takeaway was the very small amount of cider beer options on the menu other than that it was good.”

During the summer, there are lines down the street to get into this place , so off-season it's a breeze to get the best ice cream or soft serve. Staff are very friendly and I highly recommend this place all year round! Gave it 4 stars bc it lacks ambience (yet you will not care!!). The homemade pistachio ice cream is something you must try . And it is right next door to Funchos, another great local place to frequent.”

They had fried chicken but tasty. Boneless was good, fried pickles were good and the chili was really good. Overall, a cool, local hangout. The lights inside probably should be a bit dimmer, it has that town board/school meeting lighting type of feel. Too bright which gave it one star less for me. Daytime probably has no issues. Other than that, it was cool! Tell 'em Barsnobs sent ya!”

The food runs from the merely good to the slap-yo-madre. The tacos al pastor are merely good, but the guacamole is excellent, as are the chorizo tacos and the tacos dorados, and then the mole poblano--WHAP, "Hijo, porque me pegas así?" It's homemade liquid brown magic with just a tiny hint of clove that sets it apart from every other mole I've ever had, and I'm talking about dozens. Served with hot corn tortillas, pure paraíso. Nice licuados, too.”

“I've been wanting to try Shadees since it was featured on the news during the beginning of the pandemic! Finally, finally, finally got to try their delicious takeout menu! Friendly service and clean establishment. We ordered the jerk chicken and curry chicken lunches as well as a couple spicy beef patties and a couple pieces of their fried chicken. We wanted to try as much as possible and have some leftovers for dinner! Great lunch portions and flavor! I found the jerk chicken to be a little dry but it had a nice flavor. The fried chicken had a lovely breading that had a nice crunch and light texture. The curry chicken was sooo good (my favorite!), as were the sides that we chose: rice, beans, and plantains. The beef patties were excellent as well. I'm not a huge fan of chicken with bones in them, but I'm sure the bones contributed to the rich flavor. I did find myself picking out very small chunks of bone, so be careful when eating. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to try this authentic Jamaican food and definitely recommend others try it as well!”

“I am SO shocked at the negative reviews! We were a party of 9 for my nephews birthday on Feb 26th and we had the BEST service and the food was hot and delicious. The wonderful staff went out of their way to keep our table clean and replenish our drinks. We especially loved the seafood choices and ribs!Thank you to this establishment for a great time, start to finish and thank you for the gift for the 6’7” birthday guy! During the summer, there are lines down the street to get into this place , so off-season it's a breeze to get the best ice cream or soft serve. Staff are very friendly and I highly recommend this place all year round! Gave it 4 stars bc it lacks ambience (yet you will not care!!). The homemade pistachio ice cream is something you must try . And it is right next door to Funchos, another great local place to frequent.”

We happen to be able to get a lunch reservation and I could see how FCK gets great reviews, especially on a beautiful day. The day we went was kind of cloudy, but you still got a feel for the property and it was lovely. The food was good but nothing spectacular. The service was fine... Again, nothing spectacular. I had the pasta dish and it was just OK. I've had better pasta dishes from my local Italian restaurant. Would I recommend this place? Probably but would I come back? Probably not, unless it was a nice day. With that said, if you can try to get here on a nice weather day, you won't be disappointed with the food or the ambience. And hopefully you'll come on a day when the service is slightly better. I would give FCK 3 1/2 stars, but since this is not an option, I will round up to four.”

Good bread, ripe avocados, generous but not huge amounts. Menu is confusing, atmosphere is busy but relaxed. $40 for two orders of combo, 2 iced teas plus tax.”
