“We have been twice now when we are in the area and had Joellen as our waitress each time. She has been amazing each time; making sure to check in and tell us any details! The food is always amazing in quality and quantity. We always bring leftovers home. Fried pickles are delicious (and spears! So there any many to share). Mac and cheese is delicious and homemade. “Very nice but small dining areas. Sat at a high top near the bar. It was crowded, so people were close. The lobster Mac and Cheese was very good. The wait staff were busy but managed to stop back several times to refresh drinks. Be aware you save 3% on your bill if you pay cash. Luckily for me, I had enough on me at the time.Parking: I went on a Saturday night. Parked in the bank parking lot. It was after hours and closed. I don't know how far I would have had to walk if I didn't park there.“
“Our waiter was Kim - she was so patient with us while we decided on what we wanted to order for dinner (we'd never been there for dinner so it took us a bit to decide) and apologized for seeming like she was rushing us by checking in, when in reality it felt reassuring that she was consistently checking in on us to get our food in to the kitchen asap. We ordered the Our Famous Chicken & a salmon fillet. The chicken was okay, would probably order again. However the salmon was very bland and unenjoyable to eat. When we let Kim know, she was very understanding and asked if we wanted something different, and she took the salmon off the bill. She then offered to buy us any dessert we wanted on her. She absolutely did not have to do this and we were very grateful. She was so kind to us and we hope to have her as our waiter again. We made sure to leave a larger tip so she got her money back +tip for the dessert she bought us. Give Kim a RAISE! She deserves it! Has great costumer service skills and is just such a sweet person. Will be coming back just for Kim.“
“Place is very unassuming from the outside. Didn't have a reservation but they were very accommodating to get us in for a Saturday night. The food was phenomenal. The staff took time to get into great conversations.Parking: Either park on the street or the Dollar General parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Won't recommend bringing kids. “The food was very good, but this is my second time going there and each time they've messed up my bill and overcharged me. I caught it the first time, and missed it the second time. I didn't get an itemized receipt to verify the charges were correct. I don't think I'd go back because of that reason.“

My small critique: I wish the bartenders would serve beers in their accompanying branded glasses (or just have no brands on the glass at all). It was a trick of the mind drinking an IPA from a glass labeled “Coors Lite”! :)“

“First Prize Mike's is defiantly a restaurant that is worth trying. Their hotdogs with mustard, onions, and meat sauce are very good. They have been in business since 1947 and it is a well known spot in Schenectady. Service is very fast and friendly. Good meals can be had here at affordable prices.The restaurant serves fresh coffee, but only has a vending machine for soda or water. You can eat in or takeout. If in the area stop by for some food at a well known local spot.“
