Steak was very & repeat very salty. Prime rib while not very fatty was extremely stringy. Dinner came across as restaurant serving cheaper cuts of beef but charging premium prices. Choice of baked potato over vegetables would have been nice. Honestly don't see how this restaurant gets so many glowing positive reviews. Waitress disappeared for very long stretches. Definitely not worth the money we paid

As we have become accustomed to, the dining experience was exceptional. From service to food to atmosphere, all was top shelf. We love coming here and enjoying a first class experience.

Normally I love this place. My most recent visit was quite underwhelming and frankly, disappointing. It started when I went to the restroom to change my babies diaper and there was no changing table in site. This is the first time I've encountered a bathroom without a changing table and found it ridiculous. Even the men's room at most establishments has one now. I have a cows milk allergy and have ordered breakfast here without issue before. I simply asked my eggs be cooked in oil instead of butter and they happily obliged. This time my food came out very clearly cooked in butter and my bread was also buttered. I also ordered goetta and received bacon instead. So I couldn't even eat my breakfast. Very disappointing as I love the food and the ambiance but likely won't return since I can't trust that I can eat the food I'm served.
Slow drink service to start, but not Sarah's fault, she was very attentive and wonderful! Small dinner entree portions. Didn't know we were celebrating a birthday, even though I advised on Open Table reservation, however, I mentioned something to Sarah after dinner and she promptly brought out flutes of champagne for the table to toast, nice touch! Good, but not great value.

Service was very slow but Taco Tuesday was a huge hit. The food was unusual and fantastic. Everyone loved their order. My son had an Old Fashion cocktail and he said it was one of the best he ever had. The attention to detail was great; clear ice cube with logo, chilled bourbon, and vanilla bitters. I would absolutely recommend them. I think the slow service was just an anomaly, as I have been there before for breakfast and the service was great.

National Exemplar Is our favorite spot to go to celebrate any special occasion. We booked a reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was exceptional, our waitress was amazing and at the end of the night they handed every lady a red rose. How thoughtful! It really made my night. They did not advertise that they were doing this but I think it was amazing and made me feel special. I work at a florist so I never get flowers for Valentine’s Day!! I will come back here again and again!!
Someone at your table has to get the prime rib french dip. It is melt in your mouth delicious! My husband also liked the truffle pasta. We went for Valentine's day and it is a nice, cozy atmosphere for a data night. Not too expensive and they even gave all the ladies a red rose to take home that night. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the mac&cheese side I got - bland and not very creamy but mac&cheese is hard to please everyone with.
We enjoy the casual and relaxing atmosphere in the pub room. The large menu always has something that appeals, whether a salad, fish or one of its many comfort-food entrees. Service is quick but not rushed. Food is good. We are regulars.

We were welcomed with a small chalkboard with Happy Birthday on it which was a nice touch and helped our festive. We never felt rushed and finally ordered off the menu, each of the three of us ordered something we hadnt tasted before and were delightfully surprised. I ordered the Prime Rib, English cut which was the smaller size and perfect! The service was just right. We all decided we would definitely be returning.

We went to National Exemplar for a date night, dinner and theater downtown. I think it's important to understand that you can eat at NE and take US 50 downtown. The benefit is great food, reasonable pricing, surface parking and a short drive to the CBD. We had a table by the fireplace which was cozy. My wife and I split the beet salad. NE split the salad for us in the kitchen, which is nice. I enjoyed the prime rib, honey glazed carrots and broccolini. As usual. it was exceptional.

I went for an event in the banquet room. The food and service was great. I would recommend the mushroom soup and the prime rib.Parking: Parking lot is past restaurant entrance. I was unfamiliar with area and was not sure how to find. Once I passed restaurant on right, it was easy to see lot.

I took a dear friend to dinner at the Exemplar for her birthday/retirement celebration. Neither one of us had eaten there before and we were excited for the experience. Well, the experience exceeded my expectations! The food was delicious, the service was perfect, & the ambiance was relaxing & warm. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Exemplar to others. We've already decided to come again for lunch and a movie down the street. :)
