“Down home (Scioto County) we really don't have chain ice cream places other than Dairy Queen. This mom and pop shop is in franklin furnace, (GREEN to the locas) they have hot food as well as cold treats. Very nice and clean, service is what you expect from an area where southern hospitality begins.”

“Went with my sister Jonda, who had heard much about Ribbers. Now we know why! We wanted to dine at a steakhouse, and we were not disappointed! Started with fried mushrooms and a mini cheeseball with our spirits. Then a large New York strip steak, baked potato, and cole slaw! The food was delicious and our service was great, as well as the atmosphere! We will definitely return the next time we are in Portsmouth, Ohio!!”

The organic foundation of the atmosphere was not without highlights of whimsical nuances artfully present. The staff was friendly and helpful with my menu choices. There are more than one dairy alternatives and the flavors of syrups are too numerous to name. The room was not full at 4pm, but easily could accommodate more than one table of friends or work associates gathering to meet socially or with purpose. I saw one handicap spot marked off, but the parking lot looked accommodating for all types. There's a drive thru window too.”

“Food is amazing and the people are fantastic. Little Airport is close by. You can even fly in. Have some food, enjoy the hospitality and go on about your day. Some specials to try are the Ram horns which are freshly made creamhorns. Another special is the pizza. They make themselves and is fantastic on the weekends. There are pulled pork pizzas which is out of this world highly recommend.”

“We were excited to see a Ponderosa pop up on our way back from a family reunion. It wasn't overly busy at the time we got there but picking up quite a bit bygthe time we left. Service was friendly.. I didn't get her name because I hit bathroom first. My hubs thinks Kate but his memory not the best.. She was a pleasantly chatty, friendly, eager to please blonde. I ordered Salmon and broccoli,my hubs got steak and fries. We each got a side salad. My salmon was perfect, hot and cooked just right. The broccoli was nearly cold.. The server got me a new side of steaming hot broccoli.. My hubs steak was supposed to be medium well... His steak was very done and very dry... The server took it away to get a properly cooked steak... As you can see in the pictures there was a definite difference. The replacement steak was great according to hubs. Despite the couple of food issues I would eat here again.. Issues resolved quickly and the service was the best! Our waitress looked out for us and made sure we got what we paid for. FYI: before tip it was about $50 for 2 entrées, 2 side salads and 2 drinks.Parking: Great grassy area for dog walking”

Of course it's been so long that I have been to an Arby's (maybe one location where I live but it's not close) that I wasn't sure what to get. Then I remembered the sweet heat brisket sandwich and it was delicious.”

“China Wok is a small Chinese place right next to where I live. I've never ordered off their menu more so I've strictly ate at the buffet. The sad thing is where thier building is small they don't have the widest arrange of options but what they make is awesome and it's not gonna break your wallet. The main waiter is kind and respectful, really quiet and extremely fast, he remembered me coming in the other day just from what I ordered to drink. Also the kitchen staff I caught one and asked if I could have a thing of white rice (my preference to fried) and she was absolutely sweet. The main guy behind the counter taking phone orders is also a great staff member. I only wish they had a larger selection of food to offer (they do rotate it out during lunch and dinner) but giving them a bigger buffet would be killer. I love the smaller businesses here in Portsmouth you can't beat 'em”
