“The Island House staff is always awesome! Great food, drinks and atmosphere. Shout out to Erica - one of my favorite bartenders on the island. She and Joe (at the Caddy Shack) are the best!”
“Tends to be pretty busy but you can get a LOT of food here. We got the Homer (sandwich) which is MASSIVE and the Kamehameha pizza. Took about 30 ish minutes to arrive. The live music is fun. They play games occasionally with the audience (i.e. Phil Collins vs Genesis etc)Also a decent place to watch the fireworks during Island Fest etcWheelchair accessibility: Bar is Wheelchair accessible”
“We didn't eat there, but sat at the bar for drinks. Service was attentive. When there is a popular sports game on t.v., it can get crowded. Food is cooked on an outdoor grill.”
“Hubby and I really liked this place. We went twice and sat outside both times so I can't speak to dining inside. We tried the 8 wine samples and liked almost every one of them. We had the fish dip with pita crackers and the cheese tray which also came with bread and apples. Everything was so delicious. For our dinner, we had pepperoni/sausage/mushroom pizza with jalapenos. It was so good! We had to take half of it back to our airbnb and ate it cold the next day and it was still delicious! The restaurant is out away from town which makes it nice to be out in the country. Next door is the KI Cantina which is a Mexican restaurant owned by the same people.”
“We visit Taste by the Lake every time we’re on KI! Ordered catering this year also and everything was DELICIOUS! Don’t miss this spot when you’re on the island!”
“Delicious shakes and ice cream pup cups for the dogs! We had a nice time and perfect after a great dinner next door! Wife, I and Pup really enjoyed. Super nice people.”
“Graat place to pull up by boat or the road. River is quick to help secure your boat and does it with a smile! The entire bar and wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food was surprisingly good, I was expecting "tourist" food and got so much more. The menu has many gluten free options, which is very appreciated. The shrimp and scallops meal (gf) was amazing, the scallops were BIG and cooked perfectly. The chicken brushetta meal (gf) was juicy and full of flavor. The fish tacos were very fresh with large pieces of fish and great for a quick meal. The shrimp Cajun pasta was also a hit with our group, a large serving of pasta and I think 6 large shrimp. All of the meals were very generous portions.”
“Great atmosphere. Fantastic food. Amazing friendly service. This is a nice place to stop by and grab a bite to eat.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheel chair accessible entrance and parking.”
“Great place to get some old fashioned ice cream. For what you pay they give you alot. We played mini golf 1 time and got a waffle cone included all for just 11 dollars. It was so worth it.”
“Always busy when you go on the weekend. Be prepared to wait for you food if it's busy. Otherwise the food is good (try the flatbreads) and the drinks are cold. Will ALWAYS come back!Kid-friendliness: Great area for the kids to run around”
“Everything is great but the ribs and hog rolls are on another level! Get the spicy sauce!! The to-go-to place on the Island to dance the night away and they have an awesome d.j. on the weekends!! Plus strawberry shots!!”
“A great alternative to Dockers, especially when Dockers closes last-minute due to “staffing” issues. Everyone who was working at Casino seemed happy to be there and were very kind and welcoming.”
“Wonderful accommodations at a lovely inn. My husband and I frequently stay at Inns when we travel and loved our stay at the Red Fern Inn’s Bay Point Room. Great view of the lake, clean and comfortable!”
“Such a cute, cozy bar and the owner and patrons are beyond friendly. We felt really welcome and we will definitely be back this summer. The grapefruit mimosa was delicious.”
“Great place to gather with friends. Atmosphere is cosmopolitan yet warm and friendly. Busy with good live music yet calm enough to carry on quite serious conversations. I hosted 12 men who are not all easy to please. (Some might be called grumpy!) They were pleased that evening!”
“Beautiful Inn, Everything was ready, clean able to check in early enjoyed a nice bottle of their wine that they provided close to everything! Walking distance to the Marblehead lighthouse to local establishments for breakfast or for a few cocktails and fun that there is a winery and coffee shop right downstairs! Definitely will come back and stay again!!”
“Delicious food, a great wine and cocktail selection and a beautiful atmosphere! The Canoe Club is one of our absolute favorites and a must stop if you are in the area! We ate there last night and we were waited on by Ally, who was one of the best servers we have had! Thank you Canoe Club for always being a fantastic dining experience!”
“Crush is one of our favorite places to eat. We took our daughter and family there for a birthday party. Everything was spot on. The food was divine, the service was fabulous, and we always love chatting with Andrea, the owner. It's a gem in Sandusky and well worth the visit.”
“I don’t think I will take anybody by surprise here saying that this is an excellent business.Great attention to detail in their operation and a wonderful staff.Very glad you are back in the community! If you’re local, you already know. If you’re visiting wonderful Sandusky, give Mr Smith’s some business. They will not disappoint.Keep up the good work everyone! You’re a well-oiled machine!”
“What an awesome place this is! We first went in July 2023 (perfectly en route from Chicago to NE Ohio) not really sure what to expect. First off, the food was incredible. We got the pho and seaweed salad. Both were phocking pho-nom-nom-nom-inal. The beer was just as good. The selection from IPAs to sours...all fantastic. The IPAs rival Treehouse, no joke.We came back end of January 2024. This time super pumped with high expectations. The website and social media said nothing about the brewery and restaurant being closed, so when we arrived and were told they were closed, we were super bummed. The owner could tell how disappointed we were and treated us to lots of beers (cans and draft...all awesome and on the house) and even ordered us some food. It was such an awesome experience and was so much fun. We stayed for multiple hours and hung out with the owner and his buddy. The only bummer was that we didn't get any of the pho or seaweed salad. I sure hope to be able to come back one day!”
“The Island Grind is such a unique addition to Middle Bass. It's located right off the Miller dock behind the historic Lonz Winery which gives you the perfect first, or last, stop when you're visiting the island! I always get a frozen chai and it's unlike anything I've ever had from any cafe. They also have a prohibition bar around the side and it looks straight out of the 1920s and the drinks are delicious. I've gone to both places several times this season. The owner Jane is also absolutely amazing. She puts so much attention and care into her craft and her connection to customers. I'm looking forward to coming back next season!”
“Anything and Everything, Colleen makes. From. breakfast sandwiches (without a full kitchen) to her fabulous quiches, to her wonderful scones and cookies, all served with fresh fruit. Soups and sandwiches are special too. She loves to cook and it shows! wished she had a place in Sandusky. Thanks Colleen!”
“They are great people that are not scared of someone with a camera. The vies of this place are great the staff is friendly and in a day an age full of karens this place passes the vibe test. Thanks to this place for being so awesome.”
“Best meal I've had in a long time!! Compliments to the chef!! Our Table ordered the ribeye, scallops, pork chop, and fillet. All cooked to perfection, and fantastic beet salad, all at a decent price. And Lynn was an EXCELLENT server, attentive, funny and made sure my birthday dinner was great. ? Will be back often !”
“Big shout out to the friendly staff that hooked my loud puppy up with a puppachino today. He loved every lick. Even though he barked at everyone like he owned the place. Much love from Chimichanga and his ”
“What an interesting bar! Vintage cocktails and limited seating. Good music and quiet enough that you can still talk to your friends! Will definitely return next time I'm in the ”
“Amazing breakfast in put in bay. Great view of the main street. Server was amazing and the food above excellent. Great way to start your morning on the island. I highly recommend. EnjoyUpdate: We had to go back to Pasquales Cafe for breakfast. We were beyond impressed with this dining experience. Both days we had Sirena as our server and she is by far the best server we could have asked for. She kept ours drinks full, she anticipated our needs and she has that personality that just makes your day better for having been around her. Great way to start our day and end our trip on the island. The food was top notch quality. A must visit if you are at Put in Bay. Even two days in a row we were completely satisfied each time. Great job Pasquale’s. Highly recommend.”
“Stopped by this place yesterday. Quick service. The food was pretty good overall. I personally liked the Buffalo chicken roll and thought it tasted like Buffalo chicken dip. My husbands favorite was the chicken bacon ranch. I think it is pricey for what you get - 12$ a roll (2 years ago it was only 6$ per roll). Definitely worth a try especially if you are grabbing a few drinks at the paddle bar right next door.”
“We love JJ’s! We went Friday evening for dinner and each ordered something different, everything was great. Must have items are the shrimp cocktail, the old fashion, queso, and I loved the tuna burger!”
“I've been going to the Pump for years. It is my go to for lunch or dinner on the island. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. Also one of the few, if not the only, restaurant/bar on the island with a pool table, so it is a great place as a night spot too. Try the fish tacos. They're the best! And don't forget their special hot sauce for the tacos and the fries.”
