I came for lunch and got an appetizer and a single roll. The food was good. I like both the calamari and the OMG roll. However, my bill was over $40 for those two items and hot tea.No complaints about food or service, but it just wasn’t special enough to spend $50 after tip for lunch for one. I found everything on the menu to be high and don’t intend to go back.
I ordered five nigiri and one Americanized sushi roll. The nigiri was well constructed. The slice of fish extended beyond the bed of rice which is typically more than you get in an American restaurant. The bed of rice was smaller than average and closer to the amount of rice you may receive in Japan. However, the fish was bland which is probably caused by their ageing process and the quality of the fish they used.The Americanized sushi roll was called the, "Mountain Roll". The food is good across the board, but the dine-in atmosphere doesn't have much character. The service staff seems to know this as well, Ocean81 is definitely the type of place you should order online.
