My family has been going to the Whale and Ale for around 20 years. We’ve seen through multiple owners and different levels of service but would really like to shout out this pub and the transition that has happened in the last year. Seemingly going back to the original owner has made this pub back into a local staple. It was a good place, it would be amazing if they had some proper craft beer such as from the brewery Counterpoint across the road.The had liver and onions, which was a wonderful find.

Mary was a fabulous server! She welcomed us in, got our order in quick, and served our bevs even quicker! She was fast, friendly and welcoming. We had the two for one fish and chip special and it was just as great as Mary! Thank You for having us!
