“A great slice of both a historic local establishment and the pizza it serves. The main dishes on the menu are also excellent. Great, classic service in a traditional diner-type atmosphere that's filled with Elvis memorabilia and relevant local news clippings. Make reservations ahead of time as there's a loyal regular-crowd and the restaurant only has limited seating. In my opinion, the only thing that would make it better was to remove the only TV in there (that I could see), to truly make the atmosphere feel like you're transported back to an earlier time. I cannot say enough about the flavour of this chicken! Real, fresh chicken breast tenders ( not “nugget “ chicken! ) and fries where were delicious. Crazy good fries. The 2 male staff members I dealt with were so friendly and pleasant. The chicken is cooked to order, so you wait just under 10 minutes…..sooo worth the wait. When I want a home cooked meal but don't want to cook this is my go too it's a dark meat chicken tandoori plate that comes perfectly seasoned! The rice is cooked and seasoned to perfection everytime , nan comes beautifully seasoned and freshly made. The chicken is perfectly cooked and seasoned with the tandoori goodness. Salad comes with a dressing too and lemon which is delicious as well. I love there garlic sauce it's amazing with the nan wooow chefs kiss try it and thank me later ! Forgot to mention this plate is less then $20!Service is usually quick but always pleasant even when it's busy and they really try to serve everyone quickly and efficiently. “Palermo's used to be my go to for pizza. I had stopped ordering for awhile (no fault of the restaurant I got bored of pizza) I had forgotten how amazing the pizza was so I kept ordering from other places and I had always been a little disappointed. We decided to order Palermo's again tonight for the first time in years and I'm sorry I ever stopped it is the best pizza in the area(if not the best pizza in Ottawa). The pizza is cooked well (I hate when a pizza is "doughy". The cheese has a beautiful color to it from the oven and a perfect amount of toppings. We got black olives on one of the pizzas and they were so good. I had been craving a pizza with black olives for months and every time I ordered from other pizza places the olives were disgusting, soggy or dehydrated little black specs on the pizza. They add the olives at the end of cooking (I'm assuming they didn't look over cooked) and they were very good quality. We order pizza about once a month and will be using Palermo's as our go to pizza place. Will be recommending to all our friends and family.“
