“The service was very pleasant, the host was a responsive person catering to our needs. The location is easy to find and seating arrangements are comfortable. The portions were big and filling. My feedback would be that the Pho was a bit bland. As a food lover, I suggest that the pho could use some more spring onions, cilantro and fried garlic for garnish. Adding some basil or making chilli oil available would make the taste much better.“
“There are so many options to make your own noodle soup. You get a bowl and load up your ingredients and at the register you pay by weight. Many ingredients are like hotpot ingredients but some I have never seen before so that's very interesting. I kind of over did it and ended up paying over $40 for myself and took home leftovers. Service was great - helpful and fast. Atmosphere is bright and clean - would take someone here for a date.“
“I have been meaning to try this spot on the last 2 trips as their Half Duck option during the lunch caught my eye. Given my fav spot for Peking Duck in Canada (scratch that in North America) closed down I haven't had Peking Duck in ages. I ordered a couple of Dim Sum items as well (didn't realize they had dim sum as well) I enjoyed the Har Gow (Crab stuffed dough was OK) Now for the main attraction the presentation is really nice with pleasant server ware to boot. As for the duck its decent (but the watermark for moi was set very high by the place in TO that closed down) I would revisit for dim sum and duck again (if craving) 3.5 stars“
“Recommended, super delicious, the sauerkraut and pork belly are so fragrant, and the beef tongue and lamb are also delicious. Four people were so full after eating three portions of meat, and I want to eat it again next week. The key is that the service today is also very considerate. This is my first time here. Tips for eating all the barbecue details“
“This is a fantastic chinese noodle restaurant with northwestern China’s style e.g Lanzhou extended noodles. Sufficient amount with delicious noodle soups, reasonable price, very tested flavours and assorted varieties as well as moderate salt as spice that promotes health and mores nutrition are my reasons of strongly recommending to my friends to enjoy in the restaurant. Do not miss this great noodles! I believe you will return once you eat here!“
“Great food for a great price! We first came here three years ago and the quality is still the same. They have good options, and the food is simple but homey and delicious. I highly recommend the big wonton soup! We’ll definitely be back when we’re in Ottawa. They don’t seem to have a washroom available (at least when we went), but otherwise it was really awesome!“
“Super excited to find a Chinese restaurant that has very authentic Cantonese flavours and is probably one of the only places in Ottawa that has a similar taste to what you can find in Toronto. Wok Hey seems to have inherited the Google Maps page of the previous restaurant but it is in fact under new ownership since about 7 months ago.We got the pepper salt pork chop, fish with tofu, and stir fried rice noodles with beef. Everything was cooked well and the seasoning is spot on for our tastes. The noodles had some wok hei flavour, the pork chop was fried nicely and with a good amount of aromatics, and the fish tofu had a freshly fried tofu and a good sauce that held its texture till the end of the meal.Staff are very nice. 10% off pick up orders. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.“
“I tried this place once and then I got hooked. If you're looking for a good hotpot place in Ottawa, this is it. It has a great selection of items to choose from and the various broths... so good. You won't be disappointed. Good food, good prices, great staff. What more do you want from a hotpot place. My go to place for hotpot! Delicious!!“
“Best chinese takeout in the byward market hands down. Highly recommend! It has become my girlfriends and mine go to spot for comfort food! Reasonably priced but not cheap. Well worth it! Only 4 star for atmosphere because you cannot sit in and dine as its a small place and only meant for pickups. Other than that its great authentic chinese!“
“A local HK inspired cafe in the morning. I highly recommend the bolo bao with corned beef and egg. It was spicy and had a great kick! The french toast was also outstanding! Fried to golden perfection, drowned in syrup, topped with butter and filled with an amazing custard in the centre.I enjoyed the drinks but felt like the yuenyeung was a little sweet for me personally. The buns were ok. I think they were missing the signature fluffiness of a good asian bun. The dog in the hotdog bun was REALLY DELICIOUS but it leaned closer to a “pigs in a blanket” than a hotdog bun. I would skip on the egg tarts.Overall, this was a really good brunch/breakfast cafe!“
“"Absolutely fantastic experience at PapaSpicy in Ottawa! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The 烤鱼 (grilled fish) was impeccably prepared, bursting with flavor and freshness. The attentive staff made sure we were attended to. Highly recommend PapaSpicy to anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in Ottawa. Five stars all around!“
“The all the dumplings are very good. The portion size is a bit small but they are larger dumplings so it evens out. The pork dumplings are the best but I recommend ordering all 3 options. But the wonton soap was delicious. All of the food was cooked perfectly. Most of the dumplings come in sets of 4 and the larger set of 6 gives you all 3 types of dumplings. Two each. The location itself doesn’t have much seating but is not typical very busy. It’s very clean and the service was good. I recommend trying it. One of the best tasting dumpling places in Ottawa.“
“I may not be a rice connoisseur but it was open and they had rice. These guys have such a wide variety of good dishes. If you can’t find something you like on their enormous menu you’re the problem. Got the Udon Noodle and it was pretty good but my friend’s Vermecelli Singapore noodle dish was the bomb. Would recommend.“
“We were a group of 3 and ordered the chicken corn soup which tasted great, sizzling black pepper beef steak with good portions of steak, spicy garnished chicken which had generous portions of fried as well as shredded chicken with sugar snap peas, vegetable fried rice, and chicken wings which were crispy and juicy at the same time!Overall, food was decent and tasted food. I felt it lacked a bit of flavor and would have done better with a few dashes of sauce & salt. Service was fast and friendly. I would visit again to try more of the menu items.“
“The food was really amazing!! Would definitely order from here again! The service was fast, friendly and the price was affordable for the food. Good quality food!! The atmosphere was not much it a small restaurant. Mostly built for take out.“
“Amazing take out. Definitely recommend going yourself and getting it as it's ready in 20 minutes. Delivery takes 45ish. Their food is great! Our favourites are the egg rolls, beef and broccoli, and shanghai noodles! Definitely a take out (not dine in!) place. Kind of hole-in-the-wall-esque. But the food more than makes up for the decor!“
“Let me just say this, the Minda Cafe is one of the best restaurants/cafes I've ever been to. Run by the sweetest husband and wife and the best thing about the Minda Cafe is their food is made in house with fresh ingredients for very fair prices. My mother works across the street and introduced me to the Cafe and I was absolutely amazed by the taste of everything I tried. They just catered my daughter 5th birthday party and everyone at the party LOVED what they had prepared for us! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for great freshly made food, with the most wonderful service! Thank you Minda Cafe!“
“Food was very good. I highly recommend. Chicken balls and lemon chicken didnt have too much breading and were so good. The wonton soup was tasty and one of the better ones ive tried. Overall everything was good. It is the priciest place ive been too compared to others in stittsville and surrounding areas of Ottawa but still delicious.“
“I have ordered delivery a few times and the food is amazing!!! Flavourful and fresh... no mushy veggies! The stir-fry chicken curry has just the right amount of spice! The spring rolls are big and stuffed full! The take out cartons were packed so there are several servings to enjoy!“
“Ordered a meal for 4 last evening, the website was easy to navigate, delivery was on time and friendly, food was wrapped up and sealed so well, nothing was leaking, great sauces, food was fresh and delicious, we were very pleased with everything, we'll definitely order from here again, highly recommend.“
“Amongst what I ordered, the best was the steamed chicken with chili sauce, highly recommended. Didn’t like the fried rice, not much of wok nor frying flavor and way too spicy to enjoy it. The pork intestines with green peppers were good. Fast and friendly service. They don’t accept credit cards; they do take debit cards.“
“My wife and I ate here with a couple of friends. We started with won ton soup, hot and sour soup as well as vegetable spring rolls. They ordered chicken satay, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice and pineapple chicken. We ordered beef with ginger and onions, five spice prawns and pork fried rice. Everything was freshly made and delicious. They received all their dishes before us though so service was a bit out of sync. We had dinner on a pretty cold night and we had to ask our waiter to turn on the overhead heater as we were seated near the door and every time it opened, we got a blast of cold air. The seating area is small so it would be difficult to avoid this. Food was excellent, service was a bit slow and price was a bit high. Would recommend and would certainly return when it’s warmer.“
“Wonderful place! Dropped by this evening and got the pork buns, tea egg and a soda and it was pretty fair price on campus. The food is homemade and made with care and personally, for the quality and care, I think it is a very fair, and good price. The buns were nice and soft, had ample filling and we liked they added vinegar and chili oil which elevated the taste. The tea egg was good as well.Overall, highly recommend! The wait time for food was pretty quick and compared to other options on campus, I think this is clearly one of the best.“
“Ordered dinner for two for Take out and no surprises here - food was consistently enjoyable and was delivered to our in timely manner by friendly courteous driver. reminder to let restaurant know to hold off on plastic cutlery and soya sauce if you don’t need it.“
“My family has been coming here for decades. It's our favourite Chinese restaurant in the city. Best BBQ pork ever! ♥Vegetarian options: They have so many items that are vegetarian and they are all just as delicious as the meat options.Parking: Never needed it but they have a parking lotKid-friendliness: I used to come here as a baby and they have high chairs and are very sweet to babies ♥“
“Ordered the handmade noodles with chili tofu on the side and it was delicious! The spices in the chili tofu were fantastic and complemented the fried noodles well. Wasn't a designated veg option but would highly recommend this combination for vegetarians if you happen to visit.“
“5/5 ?! Highly recommended the potato noodle stew! This is the first place I found in Ottowa, they have potato noodle stew on the menu. Tasty food, good portions, nice staff, and a cozy place. Perfect dishes in wintertime. a visitor or local worth to try. I highly recommend this casserole potato flour. The powder is very Q-bomb, and the taste is also very good. The burrito feels good too, try it next time you go. Recommended for you. ??“
“This used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant in town. We even got a VIP membership and that's how much we love it. Our fav dish is braised beef noodles and we order it all the time. But unfortunately, I noticed that the taste started to go down hill starting from this year. Pretty disappointed with the noodles today as it has no flavor and it tastes like it has been watered down.“
“The lady working the counter is very friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious as well as being a pretty decent price for the amount and quality of it. Only detracting part for me is that it's in a mall food court, but otherwise an excellent place to get something to eat.“
“Reliably good Americanized Chinese food. Generous portions and friendly, fast service as well. Occasionally we've had minor mix-ups in our larger orders but everything's good so it's nothing we worry about, and often they'll throw in an order of fried rice or something to compensate.“
“I've tried (and reviewed) lot's of Chinese restaurants and I have to honestly say that Lucky Key has to be the best Chinese restaurant in the city. I mainly order the Singapore Vermicelli, which I have to say is definitely the best I've had out of all 20 or so Chinese restaurants I've tried, the Soo Guy is also always super fresh and moist (not dry and overcooked. Definitely huge 5 stars, and the staff are the nicest people ever (except for the daughter at the front cash who I think would rather be doing something else ?)“
“Great food and very friendly service. I’m usually a regular and my go to dishes are the jardo fried chicken wings and the jumbo shrimp with broccoli. Out of all the neighbouring Chinese restaurants I’ve tried, Wans has the best chicken wings around. Don’t forget to order them with a side of their homemade chili sauce.“
“I've been going there for 18 years and what has impressed me the most is their consistent excellence. I've never had a bad meal, and their service has always been attentive and helpful. While they were closed for dine in service, it's always an anticipated pleasure to order take out. And the portions set us up for several meals after. It's an easy sell for the kid too who has come to discover Chinese food that doesn't involve chicken balls.“
“One of my favorite spots in Ottawa. L-O-V-E the sushi - especially the speciality rolls. More importantly, the staff is amazing from the hostess who greets you to all the servers. It is always consistently good. It makes for a great dining experience.“
“My favourite local Chinese food place. Takeout/delivery only. Their open ended eggrolls are amazing. I usually get a combo plate and if indeed the veggies fresh and the rice delicious and the ribs meaty. I also really like their wonton soup. The combo plates are generous servings and they are fast and efficient. I often wish they were open later because I sonetunes crave their food after they're already closed.“
“When it comes to oriental barbecue this is a fine place. They got the ducks and the pork hanging fresh right in front of you. The portions are very generous the meat is tender and the sauce that they put on it keeps me coming back for more.“
“Had the 重庆豌杂面 ("Chongqing minced pork with peas" noodles). Quite delicious. Nice very slightly spicy broth with tahini+peanut making it nice and creamy. Chickpeas were nice and soft, and the minced pork had a nice slightly sweet bean paste taste (at least I think that's what the taste was). The cilantro was a nice touch. It could've been spicier but was delicious as is in any case.“
“Our usual American Chinese take-out food spot. Reliable quality, always on time, and easy parking lot for quick pick-up. Great local shop!Parking: Easy lot for pick-up. Limited spots, but very few in that plaza are staying for extended periods.“
“Located in the heart of the Chinatown, I really liked the service of the restaurant, the dumplings were very delicious, very good presentation, the place was small but cozy, it was worth visiting the place. The girl who serves is super friendly and has very nice music.“
“Our experience at the all-you-can-eat Chinese Canadian buffet restaurant was satisfying overall. While the nature of a buffet meant minimal table service, the staff remained attentive in promptly clearing finished plates and refilling soft drinks. The gesture of offering a fortune cookie at the end added a nice touch to our meal. The food quality exceeded expectations, with dishes consistently hot and fresh. However, the sushi portions seemed small and lacked warmth, and the dessert selection was only average. Nevertheless, for those seeking a variety of delicious Chinese Canadian cuisine, this buffet is worth a visit!Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options, including the salad bar, bread, sushi, spring rolls and more!Dietary restrictions: They clearly label if any foods have any protein, or certain ingredients that are prohibited in other cultures, like pork for muslims, which I found very helpful.Parking: There is plenty of parking, even during rush hour.Kid-friendliness: There were many kids present, and overall many options tailored for kids, like the ice cream bar.“
