I visited Ottawa for some personal reason and went to smoke's poutine for first time and tried chef's special Veggie rainbow & buffalo cauli ranch which was very delicious poutine & service which I liked most all over.
If you want to experience traditional Canadian culture, enter this store, rock music, country style, the chaos of homeless people and hippies smoking pot at the door, big chunks of cheese and chips, warm meat sauce, plus Some flavorful sauces and proteins, preferably a Tim's double double on the side, and you'll feel the unique flavor of Canada. We were in the mood for poutine while traveling and this place is a chain, but was super close. Everything was just …. good. Not exceptional or a draw to go back again, but not disappointed either. Food was hot and fresh, but just lacked any wow factor. Small is enough for 1 for sure and no need for extra curds like we did bc it’s loaded! That was a plus.
