“Ate at the new Hawkesbury location: Incredible, authentic Thai cuisine. Super great service only surpassed by the amazing food. Had: Chicken Satay, Fresh Spring Rolls, Panang Curry, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Crispy Tofu, with a Sticky Mango dessert. Perfect for individual or sharing plates. Cannot recommend enough and needed in the area. Will be back - regularly.“
“The price is fair for the amount of food you will be receiving. They’re very generous on the amount of mangos in the mango salad, the ratio is nice.Sadly, the curry was watery, chicken was bland, and the potatoes were a little undercooked. The beef in the pad Thai was very tough, and not seasoned.Everything else tasted good and well seasoned. Soup and Pad Thai was definately our favourite when it came to taste.“
“Best Thai food in Ottawa, hands down.Had the Lemongrass Beef, Broccoli Beef, Pad Thai, Yellow Chicken Curry. All phenomenal flavours, great portions, and pre-Covid pricing. This place checks every box. Friendly and attentive servers, not a bad thing to say about the place. 10/10 must-try.“
“It's easy to miss but we'll worth the trip! Small and very welcoming restaurant. Great food (really like the potato and chicken curry). Strongly recommend?Vegetarian options: Several tasty choices for vegetarians.Parking: The restaurant is in a small narrow strip mall and the entrance is easy to miss. There are only a few spots right in front but there is plenty more parking space in the back.“
“Ok let's be real: this place is out of the way. This is not walking distance to anywhere. Now that's out of the way, let me start with: it's worth the drive. This is the best Thai restaurant in Ottawa and area that I've ever been. The pad thai is excellently authentic, the duck was a delish (the sauce and veggie stood out here), the soup is extremely rich and the spring roll is full and crunchy. Heck, even the dipping sauce is nothing I've ever tasted before.“
“The food is incredible. This is quite simply the best Thai takeout in the city. The Stir Fried Chicken with Basil Topped with Fried Egg that's available as a lunch special is delicious. Their green curry is fantastic and the mango salad is something I could happily eat every day.“
“Super excited to find a Chinese restaurant that has very authentic Cantonese flavours and is probably one of the only places in Ottawa that has a similar taste to what you can find in Toronto. Wok Hey seems to have inherited the Google Maps page of the previous restaurant but it is in fact under new ownership since about 7 months ago.We got the pepper salt pork chop, fish with tofu, and stir fried rice noodles with beef. Everything was cooked well and the seasoning is spot on for our tastes. The noodles had some wok hei flavour, the pork chop was fried nicely and with a good amount of aromatics, and the fish tofu had a freshly fried tofu and a good sauce that held its texture till the end of the meal.Staff are very nice. 10% off pick up orders. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.“
“This family run restaurant is a hidden gem. I have tried many Pad Thais and this restaurant has the best Pad Thai I have ever had. This restaurant is most accommodating in helping my son, who has gluten and soy sensitivities, find things he can eat. I wish they were closer to me because I would frequent their establishment much more often. Definitely a place to go. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“Sweet Basil exceeded all expectations! From the warm ambiance to the delectable dishes, every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. The flavors were exquisite, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was impeccable. We can't wait to return to Sweet Basil for another memorable meal!"“
“Finally tried Chili Thai recently and it did not disappoint. From the call to order to pickup, customer service was on point and so friendly. Best Gluten free takeout meal I've ever had. I ordered the GF chicken pad Thai, it was piping hot and the portion was generous. Spiced perfectly the way I like it. Can't wait to go back and try more menu items !Dietary restrictions: They have many gluten free options !“
“Great place! Fast service and delicious food. We ordered noodles, Tom Yam and a new appetizer. I am not a fan of Thai noodles but I loved the taste of my husband's noodles . Tom Yum on coconut milk with shrimp is just delicious: a lot of shrimp and great broth. We will definitely come back when we are in Ottawa again.“
“Did take-out but the restaurant look clean and had a nice ambience. Service was quick and pleasant. Food was delicious, Green Curried Chicken, Pad Thai, Shrimp dish, and Cashew dish.Parking: A few parking spots in front but not sure if there was more in back.“
“We were 4 for dinner. The menu selection was good. The food itself was awesome. We had 3 different curry dishes, and a stir fry. The appetizers were served in stages and the hot and sour soup was very good. We will definitely go there again. Thank you so much for a lovely dinner.“
“Almost a 5 start had it not be the dry appetizers (satays). Other than that, the main dish (4 different ones) were fantastic! Perfectly spicy to our taste! Perfectly not for those who didn't want spicy. Perfectly "coconuty". Portions were generous! Price was affordable! We are definitely gonna come back and talk about this Little Elephant gem restaurant!Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome but they didn't seem to have apple juice which was not a deal breaker.“
“Food was good but I was shocked by the portion sizes this time around! Not only did prices go up significantly, but the portion sizes were half the usual! The cake in a box used to be $6 for twice the size. Now it’s $8.10 for half the size.We got two pad Thai and the bowls arrived and were only half full. I know we are dealing with either inflation or shrinkflation….but this is the first time I’ve seen both at once. Not the individual restaurants fault I guess, but company wide, this seems crazy“
“A tiny take-out heavy restaurant in an unassuming location, this restaurant speaks for itself with its big flavours. We have brought several friends here and unfortunately got them addicted! Sorry friends! The flavours are big, the portions as well, and they use a huge variety of veggies in their dishes. Their green curry and Thai coconut chicken are my favourite (the latter is ADDICTIVE). Quick notes: they do their pad see ew with the same thin noodles as their pad Thai. The pad Thai is on the sweeter side (still yum). Green curry has a kick but isn’t the spiciest I have ever had. Rice is ordered on the side, unless you get a combo plate (great value!!)Vegetarian options: Tofu substitute for many of the meat dishes“
“This is our go-to for Thai food. It’s always delicious - every time - and this consistency is so appreciated and so unusual! Service is excellent and also consistent. The fact they have parking is a bonus. We don’t understand why this restaurant is not more highly rated. It’s truly outstanding.“
“it literally has the best atmosphere!! great place for students to study. The only thing is that they don't have free wifi. It has the BEST COFFEE EVER!!! The vanilla latte is so good. Highly recommend !! I get with oat milk and ask for extra hot!!“
“Started coming here as my office is close by. Honestly delicious, they’re super friendly, the service is quick and the food is delicious. In my opinion it’s way better than thai express and way more affordable as well. Definitely continuing to go here!“
“Green Papaya, I will say up front it might be my heart that is a little bias because of my history there but I’m speaking from my stomach!I’ve been here at least 2 dozen times because it’s a guarantee every single time. The service and atmosphere are what you need or expect. First date? You know the restaurant has you covered for beautifully presented, delicious food. Just reserve/ask for a separate “Date” table. A few spots are a little close to others if you want to be more personal.Savoury, hot and fresh dishes of all spice levels if you’re adventurous. Portions are always filling and priced to match. It is an older restaurant with its atmosphere but it’s a comfortable and still up to any date standard. It’s a main meal restaurant so drinks and dessert can be found all along Preston. Gives you a chance to either stretch the legs and extend your date on a nice little walk to the next location or find your exit strategy.Have fun and enjoy your night!Vegetarian options: There are plenty of dishes to choose from and they are always so eager to please. Just ask or let them know and they will always do there best. Worst case, call ahead.Dietary restrictions: My wife is Celiac and she always has plenty of options. They are also very accommodating, just politely ask!Parking: Parking is tough for anything on Preston. Luckily a half block away is a paid parking. Just pay, it’s worth it.“
“Very nice Thai restaurant, well decorated, comfortable atmosphere. A bit hard to find but it’s there. Staff is very friendly and polite. Place is clean. Great choice of food. My fried rice was a little greasy, next time I’ll try the curry dishes. Big can of Sapporo beer was $8, reasonable.“
“Golden Thai is located on the main floor inside Holland Cross complex in the food court section. Their service is quick. I liked all of my meals so far, however I only tried the following: spring roll, wonton soup, noodle soup with vegetables, crispy beef and general Tao's chicken. They always ask for spice levels :)“
“We are elderly people and we often go in a group of eight for launch. This place offers very tasty thai dishes in many varieties and at reasonable prices. Make sure you go on time and watch the hours for your visit. You can always ask for spicy/moderate or less and enjoy your food. The presentation is good.“
“I am a loyal customer of Viet Thai for a long time. The restaurant is always very clean and the service is great. The owner is very friendly and the food ingredients are always fresh. It makes me sad that I am moving to a new place and won't be able to eat here as much as I would like.“
“We have been eating at Sabai Thai for years since we worked in the immediate area. The food is authentic, delicious and the portions are generous. This is right up there with other restaurants in terms of menu selection, but they blow everyone else away in terms of taste and value for money. Mel and her family work so hard and give so much back to the food community in Ottawa, can’t recommend this place enough!“
“Food-The food was delicious with good potions. I got the Thai spring rolls and Pad Thai. Both were flavourful. The veggie pad Thai had nicely cooked vegetables with a good crunch. It came with lime, peanuts, and cilantro.Ambiance-The ambiance might throw some people off. I had called and made a reservation a few days before for 4 people at lunch time. When I arrived all of the chairs were on top of the tables and the floors were freshly mopped which was both reassuring but odd. I thought maybe they weren’t open yet. However, there was one person sitting at the bar with what looked like a takeout order. There were no staff in sight when I arrived. I waited a few mins and a server returned from the kitchen. She verified my reservation details and then she spoke to another staff who began to remove chairs from tables. I was able to pick where we sat which was really nice. The only other “negative” thing was that the floor cleaner they used was scented very strongly and where it was still wet when we arrived it was overpowering. It made it a bit challenging to eat without tasting and smelling the solution. However, i took most of my food to go, and enjoyed it later.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options“
“Best Thai Express location in Ottawa. We went there last Sunday. Food are excellent and people are very nice there. We tried Pad Thai, Pad SeeEw, and Fried rice. All are delicious and the amount is huge. Definitely will come back to eat again.Vegetarian options: Excellent with Vegetarian option.“
“The service was very pleasant, the host was a responsive person catering to our needs. The location is easy to find and seating arrangements are comfortable. The portions were big and filling. My feedback would be that the Pho was a bit bland. As a food lover, I suggest that the pho could use some more spring onions, cilantro and fried garlic for garnish. Adding some basil or making chilli oil available would make the taste much better.“
